Overview
Learn about Korea’s divided history at the Korean Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) on a half-day tour, led by an informative guide. In the morning or afternoon, travel from Seoul to the DMZ, where the country has been split since the Korean War, to visit fascinating sites such as Imjingak Park, the Freedom bridge, the 3rd Infiltration Tunnel and the DMZ exhibition hall. At Dora Observatory, you can even peer through binoculars to observe village life in North Korea. Upgrade to include lunch or select a full-day itinerary that includes shopping at Insadong Antique Market.
Highlights
  • Guided tour is ideal for travelers interested in Korean history
  • Choose between two morning departure times to fit your schedule
  • Visit the Freedom Bridge, Imjingak, the 3rd Infiltration Tunnel, and more
  • Opt for lunch at a Seoul restaurant with a visit to Insadong Antique Street
What to Expect
Following hotel pickup, your first stop is Imjingak, a park housing statues and monuments dedicated to the Korean War. Continue to the Freedom Bridge and the 3rd Infiltration Tunnel. Then, head to the DMZ Museum, where you check out artifacts and photographs. Next, look out at North Korea with provided binoculars from the Dora Observatory. Afterward, visit Kijongdong, which is also known as Peace Village. It's a model North Korean village. Your next destination is Dorasan Station, which once connected North and South Korea by train. Your guide tells you about the station’s symbolic significance. Finally, pass by Unification Village, a model farming community in South Korea. If you choose the half-day tour, make a brief visit to a ginseng center before drop-off at City Hall. Upgrade to include lunch, and you're also taken to a Seoul restaurant. If you choose the full-day tour, return to Seoul for lunch, then spend the afternoon exploring the boutiques, tea houses, and art galleries on Insadong Antique Street before drop-off at your hotel.

We had a private tour to DMZ and Kate was a fantastic guide. Multiple stops from the observatory to the third tunnel gives you a great experience. Highly recommend!

Erica was our tour guide and she did a great job! Because of the limited time at each stop, I loved that she gave us a brief history of each location before we got there so we were able to soak in all the info...More
