- blancahavila0 contributionsHorrible experience with ViatorHorrible tour to Valle de Guadalupe We bought a tour to Valle de Guadalupe, from a supposed “Tour company.” They sent us 4 people plus the driver in a 4 persons sedan car, my daughter had to go in the middle for 6 hours. The driver was talking on the phone back and forth, when I told him that I thought it was dangerous for us to do it, he said that he had a lot of experience driving 8 wheelers, so he didn't stop. I don't think it's allowed to take tourists this way. So unprofessional, didn't know anything about the area, he just transported us to the destination in the most uncomfortable and dangerous way. At the last point, the vineyard where they gave us a cheese board, he sat at our table and loudly talked on her cell phone, taking away the only pleasant experience of the entire day. What he did share with us, was all the dangerous places in the area. Although the driver tried, this company is not a professional tour company. We brought a bigger and safer truck, if we had known how bad it would be, we would have left on our own.Written 1 January 2024
- _saroshv0 contributionsBad experience! This tour was badly organized .First we waited outside the hotel for an hour before we were picked up .No one knew where to go .We thought we were finally starting the trip .But we were taken to this hilly top where we waited another hour in a dingy cafe . The tour was rushed as it was getting late .For lunch everyone is taken to this awful resturant with chaos ,substandard food and fighting crowds . Before going into the resturant you have to go thru a shop and they push coupons to you to buy super expensive products . Guide did not have much knowledge or rather one sided knowledge .We were rushed thru Masada which was the main attraction .I asked him a couple of questions breaking his monologue. He did not like it and was very rude . Do not take this tour .If you do bring your own food . It was a waste of money .Written 23 December 2023

It is adjacent to the wall of the Second Temple, which is all that remains of the Temple. The 4th Century Church of the Sepulcher is the site where Christians traditionally gather to commemorate the site of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. - sheri09150 contributionsThis is a wonderful tour and I pray that Israel be able to offer this again in the near future.Note: We went on this tour on 10/5, 36 hours before the Hamas attack. We really enjoyed the drive from Jerusalem and the stops that we made. Masada was a very interesting sight to behold. My only suggestion is to cut the time spent in Masada by about 30 minutes so you can spend that extra time at the Dead Sea. We got less than 30 minutes there, which was not enough. We floated in the sea for about five minutes and then had to get out and shower off to leave.Written 26 October 2023

We really enjoyed this tour to masada and dead sea, everything was well organized, the ruins in masada national park are amazing, swimming in the dead sea was fun, we floated with no effort, science is proved with no doubt, we are happy we joined this tour.Written 13 October 2023

- jamiee7540 contributionsDan Porges was a great guide at MasadaGreat day, well-organized. The bus was not at the pick up hotel right when it was supposed to be, maybe 10 minutes late, which made us nervous, but they eventually arrived. Dan was a fun and knowledgable guide. The place where you go to the Dead Sea is a sort of private/public beach - a lot of stairs down to the sea, not the cleanest place I've gone into the Dead Sea from, but it was fine. Overall, recommended.Written 12 October 2023

I’ve been to this tour on thursday, jan 2nd 2020, with my girlfriend. It was a stressful day and I have been insulted by the tour company employees.
The weather that day was terrible, it rained all day long, and that was not the tour guide’s fault. But that’s the least of the problems that day.
The tour guide (Saar) was BY FAR the worst tour guide we had in Israel (out of a total of 7 tours). He didn’t give much explanations about the trip, about the locations we visited, he basically just walked the group to each site and said what was it and couple of facts that were written right in front of us. His english skills were very limited and everyone at the group struggled to understand him…. He was very poor at organizing and controlling the tour group, several times he’s lost group members and we took long time under rain waiting for the group to reunite. It was very frustrating to spend the whole day with him and we didn’t even had the choice to leave the tour… it was a pain to endure all day long with this appalling tour guide!
By the end of the day, if the bad experiences haven’t been enough so far, then it happened the coronation of this disgusting tour: the bus driver “forgot” to drop us off at our hotel and when we were about 2 km away, I looked into Google Maps and questioned the guide Saar, who asked the bus driver to come back… This bus driver stopped the bus, refused to come back or at least leave us closer to the hotel, and yelled at us to step down the bus right away. I refused to it, complained with Saar….he told me, very undisturbed, that he could not force the bus driver to come back so we should just leave and walk back. I understand a little hebrew, and the driver was cursing us in hebrew while he was telling Saar he WAS NOT coming back to drop us off and “fu** these tourists, they will walk back”.
This was our last tour in Israel, it left a terrible memory and I everyone that considers using this company - Bein Harim - services must know they have this low level of people working in their staff, and any tour might turn out to be a nightmare day like this.
There are other tour companies we used in Israel and their services were MUCH better, not to mention we didn’t have any complains at all.

Dear Marcel,
We are most regretful that this was the nature of your tour experience with Bein Harim. As you can see it is most certainly not our reputation at all, nor for our highly recommended tour guides and our tour management.
Saar may be young but he is not an inexperienced tour guide (officially licensed to guide in English and proficient, therefore). He also has a most pleasant manner and excellent tour management skills.
However, may we say that this particular day, and your trip to the North, was indeed a harsh day operationally, by all standards. We have no reason to hide behind any excuses, fact, heavy rainfall compounds moving around in a group. People have different paces, under such conditions for sure. It was a day of the harshest rainfall in the North of Israel in about 50 years over 110mm of rain (yearly average). It meant having to be super organized, this may have posed problems for him, and probably any tour guide.
Saar has reported with much regret and apology that this was the nature of your experience of him. He certainly had no reason not to cooperate with you, and thus threaten his own position and make him liable for such a severe complaint.
We are much more disturbed what you describe as the behavior of the bus driver and your hotel drop off proximity (we subcontract when there are large volumes of travelers).
Your report has been passed onto the bus company for investigation and we will certainly not use this driver based on what you describe. We strive to provide the best possible service even when conditions hamper doing so.
We will continue to follow this severe complaint on your private mail platform. Kindly accept our sincere apologies for having come away with such an experience. May we add that this is not at all reflective of our overall tourism services of the highest standard that we strive to operate daily and of the 94% satisfied travelers who report so on this platform.
Sincerely,
Bein Harim Tourism Services team

The tour was well organised and the guide Dan was very good. However for a 12 hour trip - at least half of which was spent in the bus - it was a bit disappointing. The river Jordan was a nice spot if a bit touristy, Capernaum was good, Nazareth consists of visiting two modern churches with crypts that may or may not be the sites of Mary & Joseph's homes, followed by an obligatory visit to a very expensive souvenir shop. The best part was Dan's commentary on everything to do with Israel.

We literally just climbed off the bus after a day spent exploring Nazareth and places around the Sea of Galilee, including Capernaum. Tiberius, and the purported baptism site of Jesus at the Jordan River. We were thoroughly entertained and educated by our fantastic guide, Dorit, and the skill of our driver Mohammed was simply amazing. Dorit was a bottomless font of knowledge and managed to wrangle our crowd of 32 tourists in a most professional and even joyful manner. Bravo to the team of Dorit and Mohammed!

We booked the 2 day tour from Tel Aviv (combination of Caeserea, Rosh Hanikra and Acre Day Trip from Tel Aviv (day 1) and Nazareth and Galilee (day 2) with overnight stay in Galilee. However, the tour was organised in the reverse order (which I did not notice in the confirmation until that day) and hence we wasted lot of time in travelling back and forth to the hotel and pickup locations which we would have spent more time on sacred places and visited important locations in Nazareth and Galilee. Most of the places were pass-by (as per the itinerary). Thanks to the tour guide David (day 1) for organising the taxis for us. Very happy with the hotel (accommodation). Day 2 was ok. Tour guide was informative, but would expect to be more presentable. I would recommend a private tour (with a local tour guide) in Nazareth and Galilee if you are on a pilgrimage. Also, wasting time in waiting for all to gather in each location when it is a big bus.

We appreciate both your positive and constructive comments.
We apologize for any confusion or inconvenience caused by the reverse order of the tour itinerary. Please note that tour itinerary orders may occasionally change depending on the day of departure and various logistical factors.
We're glad to hear that David, the tour guide on day 1, was helpful in organizing taxis for you and that you were satisfied with the hotel accommodation. We appreciate your feedback regarding the tour guide on day 2 and will take it into consideration for further improvement.

If all you need is a ride, this will technically work. The actual “tour” consisted largely of a man citing a few Bible passages at each location. The guide seemed unaware that patrons might be familiar with recent Middle East history and/or the Gospels. He frequently misrepresented regional history. The biblical history is more accurately and discursively represented on the signs on site. Maybe there is someone on a Nazareth tour who hasn’t read the Bible, but it seems unlikely. Furthermore, the passages were also on signs. Reading selectively from New Testament is this not useful. The egregious misrepresentation of the history of Israel grew distracting, tiresome, and a disservice to those familiar with what happened.
The original tour we signed up for included a stop at Tiberius. We were changed to this tour, which did not stop at the Roman site. Be advised that though Tiberius is in the name, you will not get to see it. You do drive near it.

Dear 91apples,
We are regretful that you felt that the guide's commentary was misrepresenting. Knowing your guide and his knoweldge and professionalism we are sure he made every effort to provide accurate commentary to the best of his knowledge and ability. Correcting you, regarding Tiberius, there is no time for the stop there, we only drive through Tiberius.
Best,

The whole trip was very rushed but satisfying. We went to the Church of the Annunciation, the Baptism in the Jordan River, the ruins of Capernaum and the Church of Five Loaves and Two Fishes. The tour guide explained clearly and patiently. The only complaint was that for lunch, we were taken to a restaurant to eat fish, only offers fried fish, kebab skewers and salads for USD25/set, and drinks are charged separately.

The stops at the Church of Mary and the Church of St. Paul were great and our guide, Yosef, did a great job of highlighting the significance of the events. After the churches it was time for the 30+ min obligatory stop at the kitschy gift shop before heading to the Sea of Galilee. The village on the shores of Galilee was surprisingly serene and beautiful and it was easy to transport yourself to biblical times. During your $20-$25 banquet room style lunch stop (not including drinks) just know that the tilapia from Galilee is served as a whole fish, not a filet, so if this bothers you go for the red snapper which is a traditional breaded and fried fish filet. We also stopped at the Jordan River baptism site which, was beautiful and sentence and also custom built for individual and group baptisms with ramps, etc. to access the water easily. Our guide did depart the tour early because his home was on the north side of Tel Aviv which created some confusion on the tour drop off stops. Tip would have been double had he not chosen to exit early.

Thanks, Don for all the reviews on the numerous tours you took with us. We are glad you were satisfied with the guide Yosef and that you thoroughly enjoyed the spectacular locations visited. Glad you were happy with the baptism location on Yardenit.
Again regarding the restaurant stop,
You saw for yourself over a few days, this is the general price for lunch. we have to stop at places that cater to groups and provide bathroom facilities.

This was our second trip with Itamar Buk. He is very knowledgeable and makes the trips enjoyable. He is very personable, friendly and helpful. We had a medical emergency at the end of our trip and Itamar handled it calmly and professionally. I will highly recommend Bein Harim trips to everyone I know that plans to visit Israel. The trips are worth every penny and you will be extremely satisfied with the knowledge gained from Itamar Buk.

We had a good day overall. We saw a lot and our guide was friendly and knowledgeable. However, I guess tourists are just sick of being taken advantage of. We arrived in Nazareth and were told to leave bags on bus. Bus drives away. We get taken to a gift shop and THEN told we’re walking into religious sites from there and need shawls/covers. Our pants and long shirts were on the bus so we had to purchase! I wish we had been told beforehand or gotten to go back to the bud to use the clothing we brought with us.
Later in the day, we arrived at the River Jordan, final stop. Only then were we told we had to purchase a gown. I felt that should have been communicated on the website and on the details of the purchase ahead of time. As I entered, I saw a sign saying you could rent. When I pointed it out to the guide she tried to get me to purchase one to keep for $10 more. That’s not her job. It became apparent she gets a commission from places she has tourists spend money at. It felt distasteful since we were walking in to get baptized.

We apologize for any inconvenience you experienced regarding the arrangements for visiting religious sites. We do publish that modest dress is obligatory for visits to holy sites, but the guide should be more clear about it ahead of time.

Yoav was a great tour guide and provided a constant flow of information about each of the historic sites we visited along with the surrounding areas on the drive between each site. He was very friendly and took the time to learn something about each of us on the tour which made it easy to both him and others in the group. I'd take another tour with Yoav if he was the guide.

Hello! I will be staying in Jerusalem in mid March and this tour sounds great. Can I be picked up in Jerusalem or do I need to make the trip to Tel Aviv to pick up the bus. Thanks in advance. :)

Where would the main pick up location be at Tel Aviv?

The pick up points are specific hotels in Tel Aviv by mini bus and then you are transferred to the main coach at a central location. The same happens at the end of the day. I assume it is the same with all operators.

Hi! I am trying to register for the English tour on Monday, January 6th. However, there is an “unknown error” that is occurring and I am unable to register. Any way I can register a different way?
