9-Hour Masada, Ein Gedi, and Dead Sea Tour from Jerusalem
From US$80.00
Overview
Masada, the Dead Sea, and Ein Gedi are situated close to each other, but visiting them in a day from Jerusalem is difficult without a rental car. This day trip makes it easy and gives you free time at each to explore independently. Visit Masada’s ruins, enjoy Ein Gedi, and float in the Dead Sea. Transport and Dead Sea beach admission included, with everything else at own expense.
What to Expect
Start with early pickup in central Jerusalem and travel eastward by air-conditioned minibus toward Masada. Admire wonderful views across the Dead Sea—the lowest place on Earth—to Jordan’s mountains en route, and capture them on camera.

At Masada, hop out to explore the plateau independently. Enter the site (own expense) and ride the cable car (own expense) to the summit to stroll around the ruins—the remains of a Herodian fortress and site of an AD 74 Jewish rebellion.

Continue to Ein Gedi, a nature reserve situated near the Dead Sea. Head inside (own expense), explore the trails, gardens, springs, and pools alone, and, if you wish, refuel at the café (own expense).

Finally, visit a Dead Sea beach to float in the salty waters, bathe in the mineral-rich mud, or simply enjoy the sunshine and views. Your trip then ends with a Jerusalem drop-off.

It's worth the excursion, really

Masada is amazing and take your breath away. Bathing into the Dead Sea is unique. On the other hand Ben Gedi oasi was full of peolpe and not so different from other places in the world

3 in 1 Can't get any better

This was a fantastic non guided tour of Masada, Ein Gedi and the Dead Sea. The driver was friendly and courteous and provided interesting information along our route. We spent about two and a half hours at Masada, an hour and a quarter at Ein...More

Great escapte from Jerusalem

OVERALL GOOD: friendly cooperative staff in the hostel and driver. Great escape from somewhat 'heavy' Jerusalem to see more of a country. On the way you get an idea of Negev desert and desert in general in case you never saw one. OVERALL COULD BE...More

Loved it

Everything was as expected. The organisation was very good. Masada is a must see. Ein Gedi is a fun hike. Dead sea could be shorten to 30-45 minutes total (specially in winter) in order to spend more time at Masada.

I had booked the Masada, Ein Gedi, Dead Sea tour with Abraham Tours because they are the only ones who offer these three locations as one tour. I was a little wary how exhaustive the tour would be, but my friend was just three days...More

If you‘d like to do a more individual trip and have more time for hiking in Ein Gedi, you can go by bus. The attraction of the tour is that you do all three sites in a day.
