Overview
This full day, self-guided, small group tour to Masada, Ein Gedi and the Dead Sea will take you from Jerusalem to the top sights in the Judean Desert. With a hike around an ancient fortress, time to relax and float in the Dead Sea, and a visit to desert oasis, you won't be disappointed.
Highlights
  • Visit Masada, Ein Gedi, and the Dead Sea in a day from Jerusalem
  • Self-guide at Masada and Ein Gedi, with entry and other fees at own expense
  • Free time at the Dead Sea to enjoy the salt waters and mineral mud
  • Includes return minibus transport, Dead Sea entry, and self-guiding app
What to Expect
Start with early pickup in central Jerusalem and travel eastward by air-conditioned minibus toward Masada. Admire wonderful views across the Dead Sea—the lowest place on Earth—to Jordan’s mountains en route, and capture them on camera. At Masada, hop out to explore the plateau independently. Enter the site (own expense) and ride the cable car (own expense) to the summit to stroll around the ruins—the remains of a Herodian fortress and site of an AD 74 Jewish rebellion. Continue to Ein Gedi, a nature reserve situated near the Dead Sea. Head inside (own expense), explore the trails, gardens, springs, and pools alone, and, if you wish, refuel at the café (own expense). Finally, visit a Dead Sea beach to float in the salty waters, bathe in the mineral-rich mud, or simply enjoy the sunshine and views. Your trip then ends with a Jerusalem drop-off.

The pick up was on time. The driver was professional and went beyond his duty by providing descriptions of places we visited. All three attractions were great experiences to have, replete with history & nature. Hope that they'll finding a way of arresting the depletion...More

The tour was fantastic, the driver was so kind and nice. The time to visit the places is fine, but one must be in perfect conditions to walk a lot. The Dead Sea was incredible and everything was perfect.

This is a perfect self guided tour! The driver gave us all the information we needed and we briefly visited each spot. We could have spent an extra half hour at the Dead Sea, as we were rushed at the end, but overall this was...More

I joined the Masada/Dead Sea/Ein Gedi tour and was disappointed. This tour basically just provides transportation, there is no tour guide. Though Abraham tours stated online that the tour is self-guided, but when I actually saw Masada ruins, I realized it is difficult to get...More

If you‘d like to do a more individual trip and have more time for hiking in Ein Gedi, you can go by bus. The attraction of the tour is that you do all three sites in a day.
