Overview
The Gobi desert is far away for a short weekend or a day's visit; therefore, this "semi-Gobi" in central Mongolia is your chance to experience desert life. Imagine a picture that consists of the Rocky Mountains in the back, sand dunes extending over dunes, green trees in and by the dunes, and a river flowing along the dunes. That is what Semi-Gobi looks like! Camel riding or horse riding is also included in this tour.

I booked the 1 day Semi-Gobi tour and immediately contacted Travel Mongolia with a few questions (how many other people in the group? what time would I return etc). I was told that I would be going to the Hustai National Park to see the Taki horses as well as the Semi-Gobi

Melanie, We had very clear communication prior planning this trip. You agreed with all the terms and you knew we are returning very late as such you are coming back with no guide. We arranged the driver who supposed to pick you up by 7pm but you insisted to leave early. It was your choice to arrange local driver. We asked your consent and introduced you local driver, you said OK to going back with them, you could've said no so we can wait for our driver. The conditions of Mongolian infrastructures in a remote countryside, it isn't like developed world or urban city alike. It's 280km in Mongolian road means 500km in a developed county's highway. It's extremely unsafe to drive in rush. Over all, this is how it's like ordinary life in a countryside. I wish you re-read the conversation we exchanged on WhatsApp carefully. Anyways, we apologize about miscommunication.

I did this trip with a friend and 2 others. Unfortunately the start wasn't that good, the company endeavoured to squash us into a small mini bus with a lot of travellers going further west, they intended to drop us at the Little Gobi on our own! After some complaining and

Visited in Sept 2018. Had an amazing day trip out with 3 other travellers. Drove roughly 300km west of Ulaanbaatar and saw magnificent rock formations and stunning landscape. The camel ride is a must-try and we visited a local herder family and had lunch (Mongolian noodles with

My friend and I did this trip. We drove about 5 hours out of Ulaan Baatar into the Little Gobi making it a long day. We left at 8am and returned at 10pm. However that meant we were able to see some authentic Mongolian life. Out guide was excellent and allowed us to suggest

I really really enjoyed my little trip with Travel Mongolia to the Semi Gobi. It was a very unique experience out there in the dry, wide landscape. I even enjoyed the busride through the beautiful mongolian countryside. Thank you Travel Mongolia for organising everything so
