Overview
With its stilted villages and scenic farms, the Mekong Delta offers enough to see that it’s difficult to see the highlights on a day trip from Ho Chi Minh, especially on your own. But this guided tour makes it possible: Visit a family home, take a horse-cart ride, and boat through canals (upgrade for a bike tour). A small group size means plenty of time to ask questions.
What to Expect
After pickup at your central Ho Chi Minh hotel (or other nearby location), relax on the roughly 2-hour journey to My Tho by air-conditioned bus.

Stop en route at Ben Luc to visit a temple, then cruise along the Mekong River by motorized boat. Pass rice paddies, fish cages, and stilted houses, and dock at an island to visit a home. Meet the family and taste fruits, honey tea, and honey wine as you chat about their lives and listen to traditional music.

Board a small rowing boat to navigate narrow canals, passing under bridges and relishing the tranquility and scenery. Then, enjoy a horse-cart ride and classic Vietnamese lunch at a restaurant.

Finish your tour back at your departure point.
