Your local guide collects you from your central Ho Chi Minh City hotel in the afternoon for the drive to the Cu Chi Tunnels. Learn about the role the underground network played in the Vietnam War along the way. On arrival, watch a film about the tunnels and the savage fighting in the area. Then explore a sample of the vast warren: the weapons factory, hospital, kitchens, as well as some tunnels so low you need to crawl.
If you’d like, try cassava, the bland root that was the main food for guerrillas fighting in Cu Chi. You can also choose to fire weapons, including AK-47 assault rifles and even machine guns at the nearby shooting range (at your own expense). Once your group is done at the range, return to your hotel in time for dinner.
