Overview

Pressed for time? Capture the highlights of Ninh Binh in just one day on this action-packed tour from Hanoi—perfect for anyone who loves both landscapes and culture. Visit the Hoa Lu temples, part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site; ride a sampan through the caves of Tam Coc; cycle through charming villages; and savor a Vietnamese buffet lunch, all under the eye of a local guide.

What to Expect

Your guide will collect you from your hotel or guesthouse in Hanoi’s Old Quarter for the climate-controlled journey to Ninh Binh and Hoa Lu, Vietnam’s ancient capital. Discover two of the most classic temples, King Dinh and King Le, before you set off for Tam Coc.

Enjoy a buffet lunch by the waterfront amid the UNESCO-listed landscapes before you board your sampan boat to ride the river through karst and caves. After a short break at the wharf, hop aboard a bike for a leisurely cycle trip through some of Ninh Binh’s charming villages, before your shuttle drops you back to your accommodation.

This tour departs from Hanoi not Halong Bay. If you love Tam Coc, you should take shuttle bus from Tuan Chau island with The Long Bus to Tam Coc (at 12:30pm. arrive at 18:00)

Yes, they do that at the turn around point. Its a pretty small amount to buy them a soda or something. I wasn't too bothered by it because the experience was really nice, and what the heck - it was the least I could do!
