The karst cliffs, historic towns, and scenic waterways of the Ninh Binh Province lie just south of Hanoi. On this tour, explore by bus, boat, and bike, including a visit to the former capital of Hoa Lu, a boat cruise along the Ngo Dong River, a visit to the Tam Coc caves, and a bike ride to Bich Dong Pagoda.
What to Expect
After pickup from your Hanoi hotel, travel by air-conditioned bus through the scenic countryside of the Red River Delta and Ninh Binh Province. The first stop of the day is Hoa Lu, Vietnam’s 10th-century capital, where you’ll have chance to admire the ancient temples and monuments dating from the Le and Dinh dynasties.
After lunch at a local restaurant, set sail on a boat cruise along the Ngo Dong River, and marvel at the stunning landscapes, lined with karst rock formations, caves, and grottos. Stop at Tam Coc to discover the magnificent cave complex and then set out to explore the surrounding countryside by bike. On the leisurely bike ride, cycle along country lanes, past lush rice paddies and rural villages, and stop to visit the cave temples of Bich Dong Pagoda.
Your tour ends with drop-off back at your Hanoi hotel.

My wife and I enjoyed this full day tour to the countryside, especially the boat trip at Tam Coc. We did not really enjoyed the visits to the Temples along the way. They were very rundown and lack of proper maintenance. The guide David provided...More

To be honest this place was a jewel compared to touristy Halong Bay

Due to the tail of the Typhoon, I went here. I did not regret it. Sooo beautiful and far less tourist crowded. Get in soon and see Tam Coc before everyone works out that this is a total GEM. They call it Halong Bay on...More

Booked through TripAdvisor. I was a little confused when I was picked up by Wati Travel for the trip as it was booked with Vietnam Group Travel. Had a great tour guide named Long. Very knowledgeable and understandable English. We were told that our trip...More

It is ok. They will arrange the van to bring you to the final destination for those who could not cycle, just like my wife. But cycling is just a small part of the whole trip. You will not miss out much.
