Absolutely amazing sights, 5-Star service.
BOOK THIS TOUR. Long review, but I organized it if you are scouting for clarifying points! Hope it helps!

Summary: Private. Customized. Informative. Excellent service. Immersive. Easy-walking.
Written by husband and wife of 26/27 years of age. USA.

Guide: Jackie was an amazing tour guide and driver, a wealth of knowledge of the sights, Buddhism, and Thailand, and became a friend during our travel! Would absolutely recommend him as a tour guide.

Timing/Comfort: Promptly on time at 7:00am sharp in a private car and drop off was exactly when stated as well around 6:30pm. Any time we rode inside he made sure the A/C had time to cool it down, provided cold water, and usually had a fun snack! I’m now in love with pineapple cookies??? Delicious. It was a 2-2.5 hour drive to Chiang Rai due to construction but I believe it only delayed us by about a half hour maybe. It’s the typical drive there.

Accessibility: My husband and I are mid/late 20s, he has osteoarthritis and I have bad feet that by this point we’re covered in blisters... yet we were prepared for another day of ungodly amounts of walking and stairs... by this point in our trip we’re covered in blisters. This was very easy to do. Great for any fitness level. No where near as much walking as I anticipated. Leisurely walking and staring at the temples. Not rushed. Excellent pace to either move through it or pace yourself and enjoy. Not every temple is handicap accessible though.

Sights: Each temple exceeded my expectations - each one as intricate, beautiful, and grandiose as the other in their own ways. The temples lack non-Thai language translations and explanations so a guide is a must to really understand the importance and meaning of these religious sacred works. Jackie makes sure to include you in Buddhist culture.

Culture Difference: Tips for dress women must not have exposed chest, shoulders, or back. I brought a shawl and it worked well with my dress for the heat. Men cover shoulders as well. For shoes, be respectful with nice sandals and or nice tennis shoes. But remember you will be taking shoes off regularly. Do not step on the door threshold. Point toes away from the Buddha in each temple. Bow or drop head lower when passing a monk. All show signs of respect to the culture you are experiencing. Please, do not let asking if you want to partake in a Buddhist tradition that is accompanied by a donation be misconstrued as encouragement to donate or support local commerce or that you have to do so. You will be asked because people come to experience the culture. Each temple has donation boxes but some have bell ringing, coin tosses, incense, or candle lighting, etc. You may choose as many as you’d like or none at all. So don’t feel pressured. Most are just a coin or 20 Baht. Find out what day you were born on ahead of time or make a quick google search for an added treat to see what your birth color is! This is one of the reasons we decided to partake in a Buddhist tradition. Each tradition you participate in will either go to a specific charity for the community (care for elderly, coffin for the poor, building a hospital, orphanage, etc) or to support the temple you visited. I saw a couple comments about this when booking this tour and I thought I would provide some insight and clarity to this - you choose, no pressure, it’s them including you and being polite.

Food: We stopped at a coffee shop on the way and dipped our feet in the hot spring. My feet loved it! Great coffee at 9-One. I am a barista and it was quite good and also unique. A good way to break up the drive if you need to stretch your legs or if you didn’t get breakfast before the early departure. Our lunch was fabulous at a local restaurant at the White Temple and Jackie also got us fresh pineapple as a refreshing treat afterwards.

Photo Opps: Jackie made sure to take photos of my husband and I, get us to the best spots for photos, and give us as much time as we’d like at any spot. He also sent us photos promptly in the evening for us to have. Great shots and great photographer!

Breaks/Toilet: Jackie made sure we felt comfortable asking for a break in the drive if needed and pointed out toilet stops at every location. Very helpful.

Simply a great tour!

Our guide Way was great! He really knew his stuff. We were picked up from our hotel around 7 am and headed out to our first temple. He was really good at explaining the significance of each temple and their importance to Thai culture and could throughly answer any and all questions that we had. Would definitely recommend to anyone that is on the fence!

Simply Amazing
Oct 2019
We booked this tour less than 24 hours before the tour with no problems. We received the information we needed immediately. Our driver was amazing! She gave us so much information about every place we went. As a bonus, she took our pictures and they turned out great! We will be booking a group trip in April and will for sure use this company first before any other!

Great Experience
Jan 2020
We had a private tour for 4 with our guide, May. The tour was was at our pace,

May is an excellent driver and he’s also very experienced with taking time to answer all our questions and gave us a wealth of information on this lovely city.

Our trip to the temples in Chiang Rai was a rich cultural experience.

I highly recommend this tour if you want to visit the places and know about the history and the culture.

Ask for May!!

A day of memorable touring in Chiang-Rai!
Jan 2020
This was a wonderful tour and really packed in many temple visits as well as a visit to the hot spring. Our guide was very knowledgable and took great care of us with cold water and towels. We were able to adjust our visits to spend more time taking pictures if we wanted. Highly recommended!

Excellent private tour to Chiang Rai
Our private drive from Chiang Mai to Chiang Rai took about three hours. Except for several bumpy and dusty segments under construction, the ride was smooth and easy. The trip started around 7:30am and about an hour later included a quick stop at small but interesting hot mineral springs where we soaked our feet in warm water and took pictures. Our guide and driver Nui spoke good English and was very professional, attentive and informative throughout the day. The car was a clean, comfortable and well air conditioned Toyota sedan. Visits to all four Chiang Rai temples were leisurely and well worth our time. Water and face masks for crowded areas and a tasty lunch around noon were included and appreciated. We were back in the hotel around 7pm. In summary, I wouldn’t hesitate to book this trip again or to recommend it to anybody. Thank you Nui for your great service and a good time.

Fantastic day
Feb 2020 • Couples
An excellent way to see a lot in one day. Our guide Puma arrived on time and was friendly with great English. The car was clean and comfortable with water provided. Puma clearly explained where we were going and what to expect, provided excellent information about the temples along with any questions we had.
It's a long day but very worthwhile, you see a lot, don't feel rushed and you'll see amazing sights.
Highly recommended.

Awesome Tour that was worth it!
Our trip started out great with our personal guide Mr T. He was very kind and so informative he treated us like family. The White Temple and The Blue Temple was a great experience, very enlightening!

Overall had a good time learning the history of Chang Rai from our guide Mr. T. Our lunch was traditional and DELICIOUS. We are very greatful to have him as our guide.

I would definitely do this tour again and hire Mr. T, he was so professional and an asset to your company. Please give him a well deserved raise.

Thank you,

John and Ana Javan

Excellent tour
Excellent tour with a very good driver-guide - Jackie Chan. The temples we visited were outstanding! The only inconvenience were the road works, but that is out of control. The food at lunch was good, even if the restaurant was close to street food... Anyhow, a tour to be recommended without reservations!

Long day but worth it!
My friend and I took this tour today. Our guide, T, was very knowledgeable and fun! It is a long day in a car but worth it to see four beautiful temples. T made sure to take pictures of us all day and he took us to our favorite meal of our trip so far for lunch. The hot spring was a good stop on the way to Chiang Rai to get a snack and stretch your legs. Would recommend this tour if you have a full day, and make sure to ask for T!
