Thailand's Ayutthaya Temples and River Cruise from Bangkok
From US$62.63
Navigating Bangkok’s chaotic roads independently can be a daunting task. Swap transportation hassles for a comfortable coach (with hotel pickup and drop-off) and a relaxing river cruise on this Ayutthaya tour. Explore the UNESCO-listed site on foot; hear guide commentary about its history; and visit highlights such as Wat Phra Si Sanphet and the summer palace of King Rama IV, famed for its mixture of Thai, Chinese, and Gothic architecture.
What to Expect
Following hotel pickup in Bangkok, you’ll travel north to the UNESCO-listed Ayutthaya, the former capital of Thailand (aka the Kingdom of Siam). On arrival, you’ll disembark the coach and embark on a walking tour of Ayutthaya temples, monasteries, and palaces.
Admire temples such as Wat Mongkhon Bophit, Wat Yai Chai Mongkol, and Wat Phanan Choeng, famed for its gilded seated Buddha statue. Marvel at the well-preserved summer palace of King Rama IV with its mixture of Thai, Chinese, and Gothic architecture.
After lunch, you’ll return to Bangkok via the Chao Phraya River (Mae Nam Chao Phraya) on a scenic cruise. The tour ends with hotel drop-off.

My partner and I had one day outside Bangkok on our three-day visit there. This tour was a well-organized visit to the Ayutthaya temple complex, followed by a fascinating boat trip down the river to downtown Bangkok. Our guide (Sam) was knowledgable and motivated. There...More

Thailand has so much more to offer once you get out of the bus, your way better off doing this trip yourself. The tour guide was polite but really didn't add much to the experience. IF you need to be in AC most of the...More

Not even close to an introduction.

This tour is not an archaeological tour. Of the wonders of Ayutthaya, we only stopped at two sites, and a couple of minor working temples and very rushed! I was very disappointed. The day started with a visit of the Summer Palace, which has nothing...More
