Overnight Small-Group Desert Tour from Fez with Camel Ride and Desert Camp

Overview
Sleep in a Sahara desert Berber camp on a 2-day tour from Fez to the dunes of Erg Chebbi. You’ll survey Morocco’s wildly varied landscapes, ride a camel to a desert camp, and watch the sunrise over the dunes. Traveling a broad swath of the country, you’ll experience the breadth of Morocco’s desert and Berber culture in just two days.
What to Expect
Travel from Fez into the Middle Atlas mountains on Day 1, passing a ski resort, cedar forest, and a series of Berber villages as you descend to the Sahara desert. Pause for lunch in Midelt, take a break near a palm oasis, and then transfer to a 4WD vehicle for the final approach to Merzouga. There, you’ll mount a camel and ride into the Erg Chebbi dunes while the sun begins to set. After two hours in the saddle, you’ll reach a Berber camp, where you will sip mint tea, try Berber cuisine, and watch the bright desert stars shine before going to sleep in a roomy Berber tent.

On Day 2, catch the sunrise above the dunes, and then ride a camel back to Merzouga, where you can shower and have breakfast at a hotel. Retrace your steps to Rissani and begin the scenic trip back to Fez, finishing the day with drop-off at your hotel.Catch a sunrise above the dunes, then ride a camel back to Merzouga, where you can shower and have breakfast at a hotel. The Desert part was Amazing. The driving was less amazing

So I am torn on my review. If I could just rate the desert, it would be so much higher, but the driving portion would be lower. Let's start with the good: The desert is wonderful. It happened to be cloudy when we went so...More

So I didn't really understand how this was going to work - I should have read more reviews. On the other hand if I knew I was going to spend the better part of two days in a car in order to spend roughly 14...More

I did two day/one night desert tour to Merzouga. It was a long ride from Fes but frequent stops along Atlas Mountain and other desert stops to the final hotel in merzouga made the trip manageable. Once at the hotel, we did one and half...More
