During the tour, you will see three different waterfalls and will have the option to swim and cliff jump from each. The Un-Named waterfall: Pools upon pools of crystal clear waters falling onto one another, the un-named waterfall is never the same, but ever changing. The high calcium deposit that runs through this fall calcifies fallen leaves, twigs, and even living ferns that dare to lounge upon the cool flowing waters. The Twin Falls: While the Twin-falls both cut a course through the same granite barrier, they stand boldly apart in both size and features. Rio-Frio Waterfall: The Rio-Frio waterfall is the ideal waterfall to bathe under! Untouched waters tumble off a cliff of approximately 75Ft high and into a large open pool, ideal for bathing and splashing into. And don't forget to lookout for wildlife in this vast lush rainforest!

Great time in the jungle
Jul 2021
What a great day! My family of 4 (including a 16 & 21-year-old) really enjoyed the day. Nadir was a fantastic guide giving us lots of time to enjoy the hikes and waterfalls.
Giovanni was our chef for the day and prepared a delicious meal. We also enjoyed a tree swing, saw monkeys and crocodiles (while tubing!). I highly recommend this excursion.

The perfect day and amazing adventure!
This was hands down the best thing we did while staying in the area. I thought it was going to be a leisurely ride with lunch, which it was, but it was SOOOO much more!! The crew (Roberto and Nadir) was so funny and made everyone have the best time with their jokes and hospitality. You can tell that they love their job because of their attitude, love of the jungle where they grew up, and their genuine interest in making sure everyone has fun… whether fun for you is sitting and soaking in the sun, viewing wildlife and taking a swim, or being really adventurous and trying some new challenges!! It really can be as exciting as you want it to be because there are opportunities to swim in waterfalls, tube, jump and swing from the rocks into the water, see nature, hike a little bit…. Everything you could want out of an absolutely perfect day! We had a BLAST!!! It was the best money I spent on my trip so far - so book it!

Amazing jungle waterfall tour !
Our tour guy Robert was amazing. He picked us up from our resort then off to the spot. He was very funny and knowledgeable about the place and people. We were floating peacefully on the river then hiked a bit to the beautiful waterfall where the water was crystal clear. Robert and his cousin also prepared a delicious gourmet lunch. Overall it was an amazing day and experience. I strongly recommend this tour !

Breath taking beauty and eco friendly tour
Our group of 4 was picked up at our resort by our tour guide, Robert. During our 1 hour drive to the reserve, Robert gave us an excellent brief over view of the town and believe in general. He was very funny and shared some good stories of San Ignacio and it’s people. When we arrived at the reserve, we were greeted with sounds of the jungle by the birds and cicadas songs. We passed by a field of mangoes which he has picked for our lunch. Once there, we embarked on a river raft and slowly and leisurely cruise along the river where we could see crocodiles and their nest, cormoran fishing, many butterflies, hummingbirds. He explained the different trees that the natives used to build their hut. Then we arrived at our first waterfall after a short 10 min hike. The waterfall was fantastic with a big pool with cool water to swim and cool down. Then we went back to our raft and cruised to the second twin waterfall which we parked right next to it to take pictures and we literally showered under the waterfall water. Then we had a gourmet Bbq lunch prepared with local ingredients. After lunch, we had swing jump and cliff diving into the river. Along with the journey, Robert and his cousin Efrain shared with us the history of the reserve land that belong to their ancestral family. Overall, my friends and I had a fantastic full day of fun and learning. I highly recommend this tour.

Awesome comprehensive tour
Jun 2021 • Couples
The tour started out slow. The driver and tour guide picked us up from our hotel. He traveled 1 hour out of the way to pick us up. That was very nice. He then took us into the mountain. The road was very bumpy but entertaining. We went around the river looking for crocodile nests then things picked up from there. Went to a nice waterfall where we swam and enjoyed the water massaging our neck and back. We then went to another fall. I fell off the boat, Robert grabbed me and pulled me out of the water before other bad things can happen. Then we jumped off a swinging rope and partook in cliff jumping. His cousin, Effrain was cooking up a delicious meal while we were having fun. We had a good lunch. They provided some local beers, always a plus. After lunch we continued our excursion while being pulled on an inner tube. Then, home. Robert was very knowledgeable about the river, animals, fishes, plants, rock formation and sedimentation. For green loving people who want to preserve the earth, these 2 guys fished all the plastic stuffs in the river and respected wild lives. Enjoyed this immensely

Amazing relaxing adventure
Wow!!! What an amazing day! Giovanni picked us up in San Ignacio & we drove to the river, stopping along the way at local vendors and shops to pick up supplies for the trip. It’s a long and bumpy ride, concluding at the river docks. Well worth the ride! We meandered around on the river, walked to waterfalls, played in pools, floated on inner tubes, spotted birds and lizards and even a small crocodile. Jaw dropping gorgeous. Great lunch. Great people. Great adventure. Great family business. GO!!

A tranquil river tour with amazing views & refreshing waterfalls!
This was a much needed family trip in our very own Belizean backyard, we went deep into the Cayo district to explore 3 refreshing waterfalls along the Macal River guided by Jungle Splash Eco-Tours.

We drove to Benque in our own van & followed the way led by 2 of the guides. It took some time getting to the property because of the distance & the bumpy road. After arrival we all loaded in a 4WD pick up which took us to the riverside boat. The view was AMAZING! Along the river was so peaceful & picturesque it was as if time stood still & we forgot about the Pandemic for a little while. Or 1st stop required a little hike to the waterfall. The 2nd stop was the best, our boat went right up under the waterfall then docked at the little beach where we had lunch. We brought snacks & food which the guide helped us prepare on their grill while sailing. The 3rd waterfall was small with crystal clear water. Our guide was informative & courteous, the boat was comfortable & spacious with life vests.

It felt good to get away & tour parts of the country we've only heard of. There's is still plenty more to explore. This river tour was a beautiful experience & all in all it was time well spent! #BelizeanTraveler #familyiseverything #makingmemories

Waterfall trip exciting yet relaxing
May 2021
I live in Belize but I had never done this tour until this past weekend. WOW! I'm kicking myself for not doing it sooner! The slow river ride on the pontoon let us see so much around us, then when we got to Rio Frio waterfalls, our guide Robert helped us get to the pool for a nice swim. After that, we went to a little beach with some glorious waterfalls -- Robert brought the boat right up to the falls and it was so exciting. Along the way, he pointed out birds and was great to ask about the area. He also fired up the BBQ on the boat for our lunch. I highly recommend this trip. Anyone who visits me will definitely go -- it's a must on my list now.

Best way to see the hidden beauty of Belize
As Belize residents, we have been enjoying the lack of tourists to our country due to covid, and using this slow time to do some of the “tourist activities” that are usually too busy with tourists. Of everything we have done in the past year, this jungle pontoon boat tour was the best!

The boat is rustic with a very jungle-like feel, but very comfortable and safe. It is set up like somebody’s deck with benches, chairs, tables, and a grill, but it is a deck that moves slowly through constantly changing beautiful scenery. A tarped section provides protection from the sun, or you can take a chair to the back deck to catch some rays. We went with a group of friends, and we were able to comfortably arrange ourselves to mingle and visit with each other. And, when the boat is docked to hike up waterfalls or stopped at a beach, it’s an easy step from the deck to the water. It moves very slowly and smoothly, so we were able to set out food and drinks with no worry of spilling things; there is definitely no need of travel mugs.

The stops the boat makes as part of the tour are amazing - beautiful sights that many people who have lived in Belize for their entire lives are not lucky enough to have seen. We saw where the Vaca Reservoir starts, and we also saw two spectacular waterfalls that are at the end of rivers that begin in the Mountain Pine Ridge. Both waterfalls provide amazing swimming holes, and the second has a sandy beach at one side of the pool where you can relax or play in the sand. At the end of the tour, we went to see the backside of the dam, floating on top of more than 200 feet of water.

Robert was our guide, and he lived up to our expectations. He is friendly, knowledgeable, and a great boat captain. He pointed out birds and vegetation, and while we weren’t lucky enough to have any major wildlife sightings, he told us of birds and animals they have seen on the banks of the reservoir. A few of the passengers were older and a little unsteady on their feet, and Robert made sure that they were safe and able to get to the waterfalls. Robert’s family owns the land all around the reservoir and he has spent his entire life there, so he has a wealth of knowledge of the history of the area which he is very generous in sharing.

Whether you live in Belize and think you’ve seen it all, or if you’re wondering if it’s worth a day of your valuable vacation time, I can’t recommend this tour highly enough. It’s definitely worth it!

Absolutely amazing! Waterfalls and sunset horseback rides.
Feb 2020
Robert and Danny were amazing hosts and guides! Walking through the jungle they answered all of our questions about the jungle, plants and animals around us. Danny made an excellent lunch on the pontoon and had so much fun at the waterfalls. We also expressed interest in the sunset horseback ride and accommodated us immediately and took us up the mountIan. They were so friendly and knowledgable. I would recommend this tour and any other tour that they offer! Thanks again Danny and Robert!
