Like hanging with your close friend
We did the ATM tour, zip line and cave tubing at Jaguar Paw and a hike with Edwin. We had such an amazing time with him and learned sooo much! He was full of information and was a pleasure to spend our days with. I can not recommend him enough! Bonus when you get to have his mom's cooking 😊

Caracol tour and transport to San Ignacio
We went with Edwin's team for transport from Hopkins to San Ignacio, as well as a tour of the Caracol ruins. Our driver to San Ignacio, Monica, was very thoughtful and friendly and made the drive go quickly (even with multiple stops due to a visit from the Taiwanese president's motorcade). Edwin led our family's tour to the Caracol archeological site. He is very knowledgeable about Mayan myths and history, as well as medicinal and edible plants at the site. His mother cooked us a delicious picnic lunch, which we enjoyed at the end of our tour. Highly recommend.

Edwin and his team are the best!
We had a great experience in Belize and Edwin's Belize Adventure Tours was with us nearly every day of our trip, for both guided tours and transfers. Before we booked, Edwin was available to answer all of our questions via email quickly. When we landed in Belize someone was there to pick us up and every day our guide arrived early to our hotel for the days activities. All of their vehicles were clean and comfortable. Edwin and the other tour guides were very knowledgeable with information and history of what we were seeing. This was a very well organized company and everyone we dealt with from before we booked to when they dropped us off at the airport was extremely friendly and very accommodating. We saw lots of great Mayan ruins and had an amazing trip thanks to them. I can definitely recommend booking with Edwin and his team - you won't be disappointed!

Caracol Belize Mayan Site -- Definitely Worth it
Edwin Gonzalez took us on an amazing adventure down to the Caracol Mayan Ruins in western Belize. They are my second favorite Mayan ruins after only the huge site at Tikal in Guatemala. The road is long and bumpy to get there, but it is worth the effort and Edwin drove very carefully. While the ruins are quite extensive, since they are a bit out of the way, you pretty much have them to yourselves and they are worth the drive. Edwin is also an excellent historian and extremely knowledgeable about this and other sites. He also provided us with an tasty picnic lunch. Should I find myself again in that part of Belize I would definitely travel again with Edwin to return to Caracol.

Tikal Mayan Ruins -- Edwin set up a Great two Day Custom Tour!
Edwin Gonzalez set up an amazing customized visit from San Ignacio to Tikal. I had wanted to visit the site since working in Western Guatemala in 1972 and 1973, so every detail was important to me. Mr. Gonzalez worked closely with us to craft a two day trip that allowed me a leisurely view of this incredible and spacious Mayan ruin. I recommend the Sunset Tour in addition to the two day tours that I took. From the moment we were picked up at our Lodge in San Ignacio, crossing the border and returning the next day the arrangements were flawless. The journey was comfortable and the drivers were quite professional. We stayed at the Jungle Lodge, within in the park and a short walk to the site entrance. The rooms were comfortable and the restaurant was quite good. Let me now forget our excellent guide Henny, or Coco who took us around the first day and for the sunset tour. He was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and good at adjusting our our slightly slower pace. A trip to Tikal with Edwin Gonzalez Tours is definitely the right way to fulfill a lifelong dream.

    Exceptional tour guide
I contacted Edwin ahead of our trip to and hired him as our guide for our week in San Ignacio. During the week we changed the itinerary based on what we were enjoying and he was flexible and helpful and made sure we got the most out of our visit. As a guide he is relaxed, friendly and just fun to be around, he shares as much or as little as interests you and has a really broad knowledge base …. If he doesn’t know he’ll tell you. He was able to arrange a fantastic visit to Tikal in Guatemala where the guide and driver at the other end were equally awesome - we were a little apprehensive but it was a highlight of our week. He toured us round Xunantunich and Cahal Pech, showed us waterfalls and pools to swim in and the other highlight was a visit to ATM canes - see my review. He is always early, totally reliable, a great driver with great vehicles and goes at your pace. I think many of the sites we could have gotten to under our own steam with a 4WD but we honestly got so much more from having a guy like Edwin to enjoy them with and learn from. Contact him on WhatsApp and hire him.l ! Rob

    Best personal tour guide
We have had Edwin guide us over the past 4 years and he never disappoints. His knowledge of the Mayan ruins, flora and fauna is outstanding. He never rushes and accomodates everyone. The lunch that his mother and/or wife prepares is absolutely delicious and plentiful. Edwin is our "go to" guide when we have our family and friends visiting us here in Belize. Highly reccomend.

Edwin is a 5-star local guide
Edwin’s attitude and professionalism made the adventure lot’s of fun. He made sure we were safe in the canoe and while he says nature is not his area of expertise, he pointed out birds, plants, trees and even bats, and perhaps more importantly his keen eye was evident as he’d spot a 3 inch green iguana 50 feet up a green tree! Compared to the taxi’s we used, his vehicles were modern and clean with dashboards that were not lit up like Christmas trees! We were so impressed with the trip that we went with him to Xunantunich, Barton Creek Caves and Tikal; since this is in Guatemala, he has curated relationships with guides in that country.

    Edwin is the best
Edwin was the best tour guide we have ever had in all our travels. He was so informative and friendly. A wealth of knowledge about history, archeology, plants, animals, and local culture. We highly recommend him!

Outstanding tour by Edwin’s tour service!
I went with Edwin in late April 2022 on a half-day tour of Xunantunich. Edwin met me at my hotel in San Ignacio and then provided an outstanding tour of the Xunantunich Mayan site, carefully explaining about the history of Xunantunich without going into excessive detail. I particularly liked that Edwin did not present everything as “fact,” but rather qualified that much of what we know about the Mayans is based on assumption and circumstance. Edwin also provided great information on the current social and economic picture of Belize. He is a real authority on Belize and on the Maya in particular, and his services were reasonably priced. I would highly recommend Edwin’s tour service to anyone looking for a well-priced personalized tour of mayan sites around San Ignacio.

    Fantastic Experience
We did a Tikal and ATM tour with Edwin. He was really easy to book with, communicated well, and did a great job facilitating our tours. The lunch he provided on the ATM tour was a traditional Belize Sunday meal and it was amazing. He helped us plan other day trips that we did on our own, told us where to find the best homemade tortillas in town, a birthday cake for my daughter, and more. His knowledge of the town and Belize history is fantastic. I'm really not one to leave reviews, but Edwin went above and beyond to provide us with a great experience.

Amazing Tours with Edwin's, Best Part of Trip to Belize!
We are so happy we went with Edwin for our San Ignacio based adventures! We arranged for a ride from the airport to our resort in San Ignacio the first day, two Mayan ruin tours the second day, and cave tubing on the way to the Belize City water taxi area on our 3rd day in Belize. Edwin personalizes the tours to meet your level of physicality and adventurousness, while offering great education regarding the history, wildlife, and vegetation of the area. The cave tubing was the highlight of the entire week plus spent in Belize. We stopped inside the caves and were able to do some rock jumping and swimming, which was definitely an unexpected highlight. The lunch stops on the tours were awesome places to get some great Belizean food - but Edwin will cater this to your wants (Edwin says some people just want a burger or pizza sometimes, so he'll take them to the best spots for whatever you're in the mood for). My only regret is not spending more time in San Ignacio and doing more tours with Edwin's before heading to the ultra touristy Ambergris Caye. Don't hesitate to use Edwin's!

    Caracol adventure!
Edwin was awesome! He gave us a tour through Caracol, then to Big Rock Falls. Finished off at the resort nearby for drinks and snacks! Great day! Highly recommended!

Edwin is gold standard and open for business!
Edwin was the best guide we could ask for! He made us very comfortable traveling in an unfamiliar area. He was very responsive, answered all of our questions prior to travel, and had great recommendations. Edwin did our transport from the airport to our lodge and back in addition to all of our tours. He has all of the safety protocols in place for COVID so we never felt at risk in any way. We listed off all of the things we were interested in doing and he got everything arranged seamlessly. He was prompt, organized, very informative and even willing to gather information for us, such as the water taxi departure times for the second half of our trip. We will definitely be calling Edwin again on our return trip.

    Cave tubing
This tour was top notch. I would highly recommend it. Great for our group of aged sisters. Edwin was very patient and professional. He showed us various vegetation along the walk to the river. The walk was easy to manage and very enjoyable. It was a great experience. I would highly recommend it if you’re in the San Ignacio area.

GO WITH EDWIN!!! There isn’t enough room to fully describe how fantastic it was to have him guiding us (and driving, teaching, laughing with, helping, sharing stories with and coordinating things for us!) Edwin is knowledgeable beyond words on Mayan culture and historic and present affairs in Belize and neighboring countries. He is kind, professional, and a pleasure to spend time with. We learned so much, and appreciated his patience with children (he has 2 of his own!), great ideas for lunch (and bathroom!) breaks, grocery stops, and most of all the magnificent caves, ruins, and roads from coast to inland jungle. Have to give a big thank you to his mom for her cooking too! It was our favorite meal of the trip. If Edwin’s not available, find a time to go when he is! (We are a family of four with 2 preteen girls. We traveled internationally for a year when they were younger, and appreciated many drivers and guides. Edwin is absolutely one of the best.) We can’t wait to go back to Belize.

My wife and I stayed in San Ignacio for a week to explore the Cayo area. We first booked a trip to the ATM caves with our hotel and Edwin provided the services. After traveling with him we decided to book a trip to Caracol and Big Rock Falls. Edwin was super knowledgeable about the history of the Mayans, natural aspects of the jungle including the geography, plants and wildlife. We also had a terrific lunch that his family prepared. He took us to the local church on Sunday, then we had a wonderful breakfast at a local cafe, toured the Cahal Pech ruins and Iguana sanctuary. He even took us to the local sports bar to watch Super Bowl 57. He was very conscientious keeping us comfortable and safe.
I highly recommend Edwin’s services.

We spent a fabulous 3 days with Edwin doing a variety of activities as he customized tours for myself, my wife and our two teenage children (ages 13 and 15). Edwin is personable, articulate, and highly experienced. He is very knowledgeable about Mayan history and nature, clearly does a lot of reading on his own and looks stuff up, out of his own sense of curiosity, when he doesn't know the answer to a question.

He has a special passion for Mayan history, and on Day 1, he took us through the Xunantunich Mayan ruins and Cahal Pech ruins; we highly recommend a guide for these ruins as you'll get a lot more out of it by understanding the history and meaning of the excavations. We had expressed an interest in seeing and learning about wildlife, including insects, and so Edwin took extra time to point out wildlife on this tour, identifying interesting trees and their agricultural purposes, leaf-cutter ants (getting the soldier ants to come out of their nest so my son could see them), swallow nests, iguanas, and basilisks (aka Jesus Christ lizards).

On Day 2, he customized a kayak experience for us at just the right degree of difficulty, identifying potential hazards (e.g. spiny bamboo on the side of the river that could poke you), finding swimming holes, howler monkeys, iguanas, bats, and many interesting birds.

On Day 3, we went to the Belize zoo and on a cave tubing experience. The cave tubing was incredible. The walk to the starting point was interesting and pleasant.
The cave itself was fascinating, and he took us to a part of the cave that is ignored by most tour guides but is perhaps the best part, where we could jump off a small ledge, explore an alternate cave exit that was photographed in National Geographic and see some evidence of Mayan presence, Although we had not thought it necessary to have a guide at the Belize zoo and had gone with him mostly so that he could be there for cave tubing, it actually turned out to be a much better experience to have him at the zoo too.

We chose to use our own vehicle for these tours, except for the kayaking day where he provided the van. However, he is versatile and can drive/provide a vehicle if needed. He can also hook you up with other tour guides if he doesn't have the right degree of expertise (e.g. for specialized bird touring), and he won't try to take something on himself if one of his people or a colleague is better suited.
