Overview
Enjoy an insider’s look at Budapest’s main attractions on a 3-hour private walking tour of the city. Your local guide will take you to popular thermal pools of the Szechenyi Baths, the beautiful green sprawl of City Park and the Buda Castle District across the Danube. You’ll hear facts and anecdotes about Hungarian history and the vibrant cultural scene of this capital city as you go. You’ll also have the chance to rest your feet with a stop at a café for coffee and two classic Hungarian pastries, included with your ticket.
What to Expect
This 3-hour private tour of Budapest is built around the curiosities of your group, so if there’s a stop you don’t want to miss, be sure to let your guide know prior to departure. Your trip will begin with pickup from your centrally-located hotel.

Hop on public transportation (included with your ticket) to Heroes’ Square, a World Heritage Site noted for its iconic statues of the Seven Chieftains of the Magyars and other significant national leaders. Then, walk to the bordering City Park, which houses the Vajdahunyad Castle, constructed for the 1896 Millennial Exhibition in Hungary.

Afterward, pass the Szechenyi Baths, the largest thermal bath in Budapest and one of the largest baths in Europe. Your guide will discuss the history of Hungary’s bath culture and, if the baths are open, you’ll can take a look inside.

Next, take the metro to Andrassy Boulevard, filled with the rich history of the nobility and presently hosting an array of shops and restaurants. You'll then travel to St Stephen’s Basilica, a towering structure with remarkable acoustics, where a variety of classical music concerts are often held.

Then take a load off of your feet and settle into a café for break with two Hungarian pastries. This snack is included with your ticket and also comes with an option of coffee, tea, soda or water.

No trip to Budapest is complete without a stop at the Danube River, where you’ll head next. Enjoy a view of Gellért Hill, the Citadella and the Royal Palace as you cross the Chain Bridge over to the Buda side of the city.

The last part of the tour will take you up to the Buda Castle District. Wander through the old cobblestone streets to Matthias Church and Fisherman’s Bastion. Here you can enjoy fabulous views of the city as the tour concludes.
