What to Expect
Begin your day at Great Sandy Strait Marina and hop on the 58-foot catamaran to start your premium whale watching tour. Spend the day searching for humpback whales at Hervey Bay and Platypus Bay during their annual migration to the Antarctic. Listen to informative commentary about the whales and their migration while enjoying tea, coffee, and snacks throughout the day. Sightings usually include fin splashes, tail slaps, and breaches from pods of whales as well as dolphins, turtles, and seabirds. The catamaran is equipped with a hydrophone, allowing you to listen to whale noises on board. Enjoy a lunch buffet on board as you view the western beaches of Fraser Island. After a few afternoon nibbles, head back to the dock and head back to your hotel on the complimentary shuttle service.

This is a wonderful day of whale watching on the water. Captain Keith was a knowledgeable and humorous captain who hosted a fabulous day of whale finding. Tasty morning tea, lunch and afternoon snacks are included in your trip.

Pick-ups start from 8:30 to 9:10, just depending on where you are in town. The trip departs at 9:30am and returns 3:30 or later if the whales keep us entertained

I think so, we saw first calf of season 2nd week in August 2018, so you unlikely to see as much action earlier as HerveyBay is the nursery, they give birth in TFNQ & then come down to HB with their calves to fatten em up for... More
