After pickup in Perth, the 3-hour drive to South West Australia and the Margaret River region will pass quickly as you enjoy the scenery and listen to commentary from your guide. The day's first stop is Busselton Jetty, where you can purchase morning tea before moving on to Bootleg Brewery for a platter lunch accompanied by a variety of cider samplings. Continue your tasting at the Sandalford winery, established in 1840, where you can try some of the vintages and explore the lush grounds.
The afternoon is dedicated to the natural attractions in the Margaret River area, including Mammoth Caves’ ancient geological features, which you will learn about in-depth on a guided tour. Snap photos and take in the views on a drive through Boranup Forest to the Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse on Australia’s most southwestern point. Keep a lookout for native animals such as rock parrots, dolphins, and sea lions on a coastal trail walk and then head back to the township for some free time to explore. Stop at a local restaurant on the way back to Perth for dinner (own expense).
