Geoff our guide is a local and incredibly knowledgeable not just about the history and geography of the area, but about the wildlife, views, weather and the local community. The perfect way to explore Milford Sounds - interesting, small group - ideal.

We recently took a full day tour of Milford Sound from Te Anau. Our Guide Jeff was great. He was very knowledgeable about the history of the area and had great stops along the way to see sights we would have missed had we driven ourselves to Milford Sound. His timing was perfect. He pulled in and gave us our lunches and quickly after that we were on the boat and touring the sound. Could not have asked for a better tour.

The cruise was cancelled due to bad weather the day before (less than 24 hours) and due to no fault of our own there was no refund as we booked through a third party (Tripadvisor). Would advise to book directly with cruise supplier, in this case Trips & Tramps.

Had a great trip to Milford Sound. John is a very experienced guide who made us feel comfortable throughout the trip. Would definitely recommend.

We did the 3 day package of 1) Kepler Heli hike 2) Routeburn + key summit 3) Milford Cruise and tour. Everything from booking to the start of the tour ran smoothly. Excellent communication and very friendly service. We did not feel out of place at all(Its only me, my husband and the guide). The first 2 days we did the Kepler and Routeburn key summit, the guides were fantastic (Jeff and John)!!! They are so chill and knowledgeable. Its like we knew each other from before! On our 2nd day we were actually expecting that we will have a bad tour because it was all rain and clouds, but John made sure that we will have a good time. Lastly we just finished the Milford day tour, our guide Andrew, talked to us all the way about the stuff we found on the way. Very informative and we were able to see some rare birds. This is our first time in NZ and this tour made it more memorable. Highly recommended.

John was incredible we had the best day of you are going to do Milford sound so this tour - so glad we stayed in Te Anau and then did this tour it’s was a small van we got to stop and see the sights along the way also hear so much local knowledge - very grateful to have John take us Around - thank you again I will be recommending this tour to everyone!!!

Very enjoyable day to Milford Sound. Jeff made the trip interesting and entertaining with his knowledge and fun stories. The lunch provided was excellent. The cruise was also great. We loved being in a smaller boat that got up close to the wildlife and waterfalls.

Great tour of Milford sound with a guide who was so knowledgeable about the area and very involved in local conservation. For quite a big day out he kept it engaging the entire time with lots of stops and walks around the area.

What an amazing day! John, our guide, was incredible! Not enough words to describe how good John was and he made our day. We all collectively said that he was the best guide we have ever had. He made us all feel welcome, pesonalised the tour, was great with the kids and super knowledgeable on the area. Just made for the perfect day. I would recommend anyone use this company and John for their tour of the area. Make sure you ask for some Manuka tea!

Jeff was an absolutely fantastic tour guide and made the whole day spectacular! He was super friendly, genuine and had a deep understanding of and personal connection to the local area which allowed us travellers to gain a huge insight to the history, ecology and modern significance of the area. 10/10 would recommend. Also, if you are looking at staying in Queenstown, you should definitely base yourself in Te Anau to explore this area instead. You'll get so much more out of the day and reward the local townships that go above and beyond to showcase their areas. We were very fortunate that the weather was superb, we were able to see dolphins, penguins and seals on our cruise of the milford sound and Jeff stopped at heaps of spectacular views along the way. The packed lunch was also really yummy - chicken wrap, apple and some sweet slices from the local bakery. So good!!

Jeff our tour guide was brilliant! We had a fantastic day and really pleased we booked with Trips and Tramps. Communication was good, commentary (and dad jokes) throughout the day were on point, the boat trip was so scenic, the cakes provided with lunch were delicious, and Jeff stopped at different places for us to get out and take pictures. Recommendations for what else to do in Te Anau also given. 10/10. Note: Don't forget to wear rain gear! The waterfall will get you wet if the weather doesn't 😅 Maybe I'm just used to large portions, but lunch could have included another wrap or something as I was still a bit hungry.

We had a fabulous time (with John as our guide) on our Milford sound trip! He was really accommodating of the different groups’ needs/ requests for walks, picture-taking moments and shared fun stories about the area. He made great recommendations for Te Anau after the tour too! The cruise and drive down were amazing- we had some rainy/misty weather- but it was still gorgeous. Definitely bring rain gear!
