Choose the departure time that best suits your vacation schedule, and then either drive yourself to the drop-zone or get a pickup from your Taupo accommodation.
On arrival, check in with the reservations team and take part in a safety briefing. Then, gear up and meet your tandem instructor who you will be connected to during the skydive. If you’ve decided to upgrade to receive a video of your experience, you’ll record a short interview before boarding the plane.
Ascend to 12,000 feet, taking in bird’s-eye views of Mt Ruapehu, Tongariro National Park, Mt Doom from The Lord of the Rings and Lake Taupo, New Zealand’s largest lake. When you’ve reached altitude, move toward the door, dangle your legs over the side and leap into the air.
Free-fall at hair-raising speeds of up to 124 mph until you reach around 5,000 feet, when your instructor will deploy the parachute. Then, catch your breath and soak up incredible views of the North Island during the gentle canopy ride back down to the ground.
Your experience finishes with a drop-off back at your original departure point.
