Overview
Right on Melbourne’s doorstep, the Yarra Valley is renowned for its fine wines and gourmet cuisine. This small-group tour is limited to 10 people for a more intimate tasting experience, and offers an itinerary to satisfy the most discerning wine lovers and foodies. Sample regional wines and cheeses at De Bortoli Winery, enjoy a 2-course lunch amid the vineyards, and meet the winemakers at the Dixons Creek Estate.
What to Expect

Your tour starts with pickup from your central Melbourne hotel. Traveling aboard an air-conditioned minivan, set out on the 1-hour journey into the Yarra Valley—a scenic drive through the Melbourne suburbs and lush countryside.

The first stop of the day is De Bortoli Winery, a family-run establishment renowned for its chardonnay and pinot noir varietals. After learning a little about the winemaking process and the region’s most popular grapes, sample some of the award-winning wines for yourself, accompanied by a selection of regional cheeses.

Continue to Dixons Creek Estate, where you have the chance to meet the winemaker, Graeme Miller, and discover the secrets of Dixons Creek wine directly from the source. After a guided estate tour, enjoy your second tasting of the day—a selection of red, white, or rosé wines.

Depending on availability, enjoy lunch at either Tokar Estate, Soumah, or Ezard at Levantine Hill, where you are treated to a 2-course gourmet meal. As you feast on the seasonal dishes and taste regional specialties, gaze out over the verdant expanse of vineyards.

After lunch, the final stop of the day is at Coldstream Hills Winery, where you admire the impressive tiered vineyards before heading to the cellar door for a guided wine tasting.

Finally, relax on the scenic drive back to Melbourne, where your tour ends with drop-off at your hotel.

* Please note: from July 1, 2018 onwards, this tour will visit Coombe, The Melba Estate instead of Yering Farm & Dixons Creek Estate.
Tour guests will be offered 2014 Tribute Series Nellie Melba sparkling blanc de blancs on arrival matched with a beautiful freshly shucked Sydney Bay oyster with red wine vinegar & shallot dressing.
Guests will then continue the wine-tasting with a showcase of the award-winning estate grown Coombe Farm Wine, approximately 6 in total.
