Barossa Valley with Hahndorf Tour from Adelaide
The Barossa Valley, just north of Adelaide, is one of South Australia’s most renowned wine regions. This tour visits two prestigious wineries—Seppeltsfield and Wolf Blass—followed by a 2-course wine-tasting lunch and a scenic drive through the Adelaide Hills, stopping at historic Hahndorf.
What to Expect
After being picked up from your central Adelaide hotel, set out on the scenic 1-hour drive to the Barossa Valley aboard a comfortable bus. Admire the views as you head north into the hills, following the River Torrens and passing through the Torrens Gorge along the way.

Arrive at the Seppeltsfield Winery for your first wine tasting of the day and enjoy a guided tour of the historic estate—the oldest in the Barossa Valley. As you sample a selection of Seppeltsfield wines, learn more about Australian wine from your guide, and taste some of the region’s acclaimed grenache and shiraz varieties.

Continue to one of the Barossa Valley’s best-known wineries, Wolf Blass, where you discover the winemaking process on a guided tour before enjoying an expert-led tasting of their award-winning Gold Label and Black Label wines. After the tasting, adjourn to the winery restaurant for a sumptuous 2-course lunch accompanied by an exclusive tasting of Penfolds wines.

After lunch, take the scenic route back to Adelaide, winding through the lush landscapes of the Adelaide Hills and passing through traditional villages such as Stirling and Bridgewater. Along the way, stop at Hahndorf, a former German settlement and one of the region’s most picturesque towns, filled with colonial buildings and rich European heritage.

Upon return to Adelaide, the tour ends with drop-off at your hotel.

Pleasant day out but lunch was a let-down

We did this trip last Sunday, booking a bus trip for convenience. The driver was very entertaining and knowledgeable of the area we travelled through and the bus was comfortable. Seeing the Seppeltsfield winery was fantastic. I was very impressed by the beautiful old buildings...More

Attended the Barossa Valley and Hahndorf tour during May. I enjoyed it. Just wish the Hahndorf part was shortened many of the shops were closing around 4pm on the Sunday and it was a very cold day so many people were keen to get on...More

Very enjoyable day made special by the tour guide (Martin I think). He was very knowledgeable and entertaining. The tours felt a bit like a marketing job for the winery group. Lunch was OK to not bad. Best not order steak if you don't like...More
