Overview
Experience the natural beauty of World Heritage-listed Lamington National Park on a day trip from Brisbane or Gold Coast. You’ll visit an alpaca farm, see unparalleled views from Mount Tamborine, watch for colorful birds, and enjoy a variety of rainforest activities at O’Reilly’s Rainforest Retreat, including a treetop canopy walk.
Highlights
  • Round-trip transport to Lamington National Park eliminates the need to rent a car
  • Entrance fees and activities included at O'Reilly's Rainforest Retreat
  • Learn about the UNESCO-listed rain forests through a guide's live commentary
  • Hotel pickup and drop-off makes for a seamless experience
What to Expect
Be ready for convenient pickup at your hotel in Brisbane or Gold Coast. Be glad you aren't concentrating on the road or directions as you take in scenic views on the drive to Lamington National Park, part of the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Gondwana Rainforests of Australia.  On the way to your day's base at O'Reilly's Rainforest Retreat, make stops at the local Gallery Walk to peruse crafts and at Tambourine Mountain for epic views and photo ops over the Pacific Ocean. Once you reach O’Reilly’s, spend the next few hours exploring independently during some free time. Opt to take a treetop canopy walk with a guide to teach you about the rain forest ecosystem or get some close-up views of native birds such as Albert's lyrebirds, wedge-tailed eagles, or bowerbirds. Independent travelers will enjoy the option to simply walk around the property’s rain forest trail system on their own. Upgrade for an included lunch at the on-site restaurant when booking. On the way back to your departure point, stop at a local alpaca farm to see and learn about the fluffy creatures. End the day with drop-off back at your hotel.

If you take a JPT Tour Bus the canopy walk is included. O'Reilly's is less than an hour from Brisbane and our tour breaks up the journey by stopping in at beautiful Tamborine Mountain (it's a little taste of Europe) and Canungra Valley Vineyards... for...More

The tour's guides were very knowledgeable and provided an interesting commentary to the region's history as well as the plants and animals of the rainforest. However, the tour through the rainforest was very rushed, leaving almost no time to take photos or to take in...More

I'm sorry we didn't meet your expectations. We do recommend keen bushwalkers and hikers should stay overnight at O'Reilly's... which has magnificent accommodation and offers many walks and wildlife spotting. Our tour gives about two hours on the mountain top. The waterfalls are spectacular if...More

Our trip to Lamington National Park was very professional in the way the trip was run. The driver was very knowledgeable and could even whistle up a yellow chested Robin.More

Made me smile!! Yes, on my tour with the family we enjoyed an encounter with a bright blue bower bird and saw his amazing little 'above ground' nest. Our drivers are all experienced and multilingual to cater to different nationalities. I'm so glad you had...More

The Park is two hours away from Brisbane, i.e. four hour round trip, so leaving at 8am, you would expect to have 3-4 hours to enjoy the forest. But the bus stops for 1h15 at totally uninteresting shopping places. It’s a shame, because the park...More

This was a wonderful experience. You go through the forest to get to the walk and then slowly walk up. The view was stunning. There is also bird feeding which again was an amazing experience. I would definitely recommend, the only thing is you have...More
