Overview
This stress-free tour packs in more landmarks in less time, and includes visits to Wentworth Falls, Scenic World, and a return river cruise. Unless you rent a car, covering the Blue Mountains on a day trip from Sydney is a daunting task, and you risk overlooking some of the area's top attractions—this tour helps you avoid those common pitfalls. Plus, unlike similar trips, you'll enjoy views of Sydney’s 2000 Olympic Park on the way back.
What to Expect
After pickup in Sydney, you'll journey to the UNESCO-protected Blue Mountains National Park.

On route, visit the Featherdale Wildlife Park, a haven for native wildlife including koalas, kangaroos, and emus. Opt to hand-feed the kangaroos with supervision from trained staff or have your photo taken with a koala. Both activities are at your own expense.

Then, continue into the Blue Mountains as your guide provides commentary on the scenery. Visit Echo Point for views of the Three Sisters, the three pinnacles towering over the forest-filled Jamison Valley. After a nature walk to the Wentworth Falls, head to Scenic World park.

Here, choose your preferred activities (own expense), perhaps descending into the Jamison Valley via the Scenic Railway or Cableway, or taking a glass-floored gondola over the rainforest.

Afterward, expect a lunch break in Katoomba village before a brief stop at Sydney’s 2000 Olympic Park and a River Parramatta cruise back to Sydney’s Circular Quay, where your tour ends.

Blue Mountain area is beautiful. I skipped the cable car and train ride and hiked down to the bottom. If you're in fairly decent shape, it's quite doable and free. (As opposed to $33 for the rides.) I love seeing the little waterfalls along the...More

Scenic Tour, but fog kept it hidden

Our tour guide was determined to show us something of the Blue Mountains, but the fog foiled his efforts. We still had an interesting day out of Sydney and enjoyed the small towns and forest walk.
