Kealakekua Bay, home to Captain Cook’s monument, is located on the coast of Kona and only accessible by boat or hiking. With this tour, take a relaxing lunch or dinner cruise to this hard-to-reach spot, and enjoy the included Hawaiian-style buffet, cocktail, and live entertainment.

What to Expect

Your cruise begins at the Kailua Pier where you’ll board the boat for the 12-mile journey down the Kona coastline. Sit back and relax as a local historian shares stories about the landmarks you pass on the way to Captain Cook’s Monument.

Upon arrival, enjoy a cocktail from the fully stocked bar and an island-style buffet. A typical buffet includes fresh fruit, assorted cheeses, salads and local breads for appetizers. For entrees enjoy kalua pork and cabbage, braised beef brisket, BBQ chicken or veggie rice pilaf. Make sure to save room for dessert and Kona coffee.

Keep an eye out for dolphins, turtles, manta rays and seasonal humpback whales. Take in the sites of Ahu’ena, Heiau, the Holua Slide, and the Kuamo’o Battlefield as you sail back to the pier.

Food not that good

This was very expensive for what we got. The food is just okay. I think you get a better value for a Luau. It is hard to sit a large group together glad we were first in line as we were able to grab two...More

Not what I expected

It sounds like you're getting off the boat for a show. You don't get off and it's very boring. Although the staff is very nice and know what they're doing. I wouldn't recommend this tour.More

Perfect balance of history, culture and dinner.

Mikayla (sp?) was a wonderful local lady that kept us up to speed on history on culture with folklore added. Her story-telling abilities were wonderful. The entire crew was attentive to every detail. The ship was immaculate and in excellent repair. The food was good,...More

I think it is, there were little ones on the boat when I went and they seemed like they had fun. You’ll just have to keep a close eye on them, but they’ll enjoy the trip.

No. You will need to Uber to the dock. I did not see any public transportation in the area.
