Good Morning, Thank you for taking time to write your review. Delighted to learn that you enjoyed your local experiences and the time you spent on Guraidhoo. Our aim is to provide the best of our island paradise home and it sounds as though this was the case. As you will be aware from your own experience, our guides complete a responsible snorkeling briefing prior to entering the water and anyone who is new to snorkeling will have their first encounter away from a reef in a shallow lagoon or at a sandbank in order that the guide can coach them on the use of the equipment as well as snorkeling skills. We do consider ourselves a responsible tour company and therefore the protection of our environment is important to us as a team. Unfortunately it may take further prompts for all guests to understand the importance of these briefings. Having spoken to the guide who was accompanying you he advises that if he witnesses such actions he will always personally move guests away from the reef if they are standing or hitting corals intentionally or unintentionally and following the concerns you raised with him on that occasion he did speak with the other guests concerned. It was also good to be able to personally meet with you during my whistle stop visit to Maafushi and I was pleased we were able to organise your trip at short notice, nothing like acting on the spur of the moment! Completely agree that had you been staying longer and had not wanted to fit in diving opportunities, it is worthwhile to island hop and visit other islands, maybe next time you can join one of our 7 night island hopping experiences and explore more of our paradise home? I think had you visited other islands you would have discovered that in fact Maafushi offers far more than most islands in the way of water activities and day tours and is one of the most busiest local islands as far as tourism is concerned, but that as I say will be for another visit.
