Good but too short and expensive for what you pay for
Being a local person I hadn’t visited in over 10 years with my other child but it was a lot better than what I remembered from last time. It is very small compared to other similar places around the country and I think the price should reflect this as it is too expensive for what you get. I had a discount for myself and a child and it was still almost £30. We took our time going round and it took about 45 mins. My 8 year old and I did enjoy ourselves and there was a lot of interesting things to see and interact with. I would visit more often if it was better value for money.

    Did not see the penguins!
Disappointed that we could not see the penguins. Upstairs viewing area was closed. Penguins were not swimming in water so we did not see them. We enjoyed turtle talk and shark talks

Very well themed and very clean!
Visited today! We are annual pass holders for Merlin however we have never been to this SeaLife Centre before! It looks small from the outside but be prepared to be blown away with how much is insane. It is beautifully themed and very very clean inside. Everything was being ran and kept at a very high standard and the theming was beautiful! Will definitely be back in the warmer months!

Very good fun and thought provoking visit.
Was fantastic, so much to see and do. Our daughter loved the penguins the best. So good to learn so much about conservation and the intricate details of all the marine life.

    Great place, worth a visit!
Great place to visit. Friendly staff and lots to see. Particularly liked that they stamped your hand so that you could leave and then come back later, this meant we had more options for lunch, and it gave the toddler a change of scenery! We were able to hold a big bug and stroke a spiny starfish. The penguins were great. Nicely laid out gift shop with a variety of quality merchandise at prices for all pockets.

    Very Good
We visited during half-term in October. This was a good experience - thoroughly enjoyed by all the family. We were a little concerned at some of the reviews we had read, but our experience was very positive. Although busy, it wasn't too cramped and we had plenty of opportunity to spend time on each of the exhibits. Displays were interesting and appealed to all ages in our group. There was a surprising range of sea life on offer including opportunities to get up quite close to creatures such as rays.

A fantastic way to spend a couple of hours, great value for money
Fantastic afternoon looking round all the exhibits - very exciting to see the penguins being fed. The place is well maintained and all the staff are enthusiastic and knowledgeable. A real treat and brilliant it stays open when so many other things in the town have closed down. Some very clever touches such as the live bug display and the leaf cutter ants climbing over our heads. We didn’t eat there but the pizzas smelled delicious and we could see a good selection of sandwiches available. As a great end to our visit we tried the VR ‘rides’ in the gift shop area - wow, brilliant and the rollercoaster one felt a little too real at times so I had to shut my eyes! Also, a weird thing to notice but the bathrooms were crazy fabulous, like being in a posh hotel!

    Don't waste your money
Took under an hour to go around. The restaurant had no children's sandwiches so they couldn't have the kids' sandwich meal deal. They sold out yesterday apparently which is a joke when there is no picnic area. The pizza was overpriced and rubbery. Don't waste your money. Also, there were no gluten free options. It was either a sandwich not your traditional ones either, pizza or a hotdog. £106 to get in another £35 on pizza and drink. There are far better places to go for the money.

    We had a good day.
We enjoyed our trip with our six year old granddaughter. We spent hour and a half there. I personally feel the ticket prices were high specially for children who paid the same price as adult. Staff were very helpful and friendly. We didn't get chance to attend any talks because of wrong day or time.

    Great Sealife experience
Very welcoming and knowledgable staff. Some interactive bits around the centre and we got to touch a starfish and held millipedes. Well kept Sealife centre. We enjoyed the visit and will visit again.

    Not bad but over priced
We visited on 26th Oct. Managed to book online and get a 30% discount which was a welcome relief as without it its a little costly. Even after the discount I didn't think it was the best value as we went round in under 1hr and even went round again quickly to see if we missed something! Attractions were good just actual centre a little small. We booked the VR experience at the end which was actually really enjoyable . 3pm talk by Ruby was fun and informative. Good visit but over priced in my opinion.

    Great place for an experience
Was a lovely place to visit for the first time. It was small and we were round in about an hour, cost just over £50 for 2 adults , 2 children, but everywhere as a family is expensive these days ! It was a good experience as something different and you could go in and out all day. Seeing the turtle was amazing, memorising and could have watched him all day. We loved the axolotl too. There is plenty else to do in Yarmouth for a full day out.

Poor value for money
It took around 20-30 mins to go through the attraction and cost around 28 pound for one adult and one teen.we didn’t use the soft play area at the end nor the cafe or shop which seems to take up the most space. Compared to the Deep which is far bigger more interactive and entertaining and only £1 more to visit I found it poor value

Thank you for taking the time to review us. We are sorry that you managed to only spend 20-30 minutes in our attraction as there is no time limit and over 1,500 sea creatures to discover, we believe that it takes more than a cursory glance to spot all our fishy residents. One factor which may have a bearing is the time taken to investigate each of our displays. Sea creatures seldom line up to be admired and those who derive most from a visit to Sea Life are invariably those who linger at each display and make sure they see everything, if necessary asking one of our friendly team to help point out the more elusive creatures and explain some of their fascinating features, our guest survey data shows that on average the time spent in the aquarium is 1.5 hours and if capacity allows guest can go around the attraction more than once. The soft play area and restaurant are additional features and not included in the admission price of the aquarium. We sincerely hope you will visit again and explore more thoroughly.

The staff were all very helpful and the individual areas interesting; but it really doesn’t take long to to see it all. Even taking more than a cursory glance.

We spent time reading and looking carefully at the exhibits and still the visit didn’t really pack in the value to the cost for a family of 4.

It was enjoyable but expensive way to pass the time.

Hi 4DanielB4 Thank you for your comments. We are sorry you felt your experience did not represent good value. We monitor guest perception on this issue very closely and happily the vast majority believe they get excellent value for money. We also take into consideration the prices charged by competitors, both in the aquarium sector and in other leisure attractions, and are confident our pricing, given the quality of our offering, is extremely competitive. We hope to see you again. Kind regards

Attended a birthday party here at the weekend and it was so badly organised. The party host really didn’t know what he was doing, and several of us did not feel confident with him supervising our children. Only once did he check he had the correct number of children and that was when they were going in. We as parents had to pay £9 to go around with the group for the tour, which took just 20 minutes. When we complained to the manager, Sarah, she was useless, no apology, zero customer service skills and just tried to blame everyone else. Not even an offer of a refund (considering half the parents didn’t bother to pay). Just nothing. Never been anywhere like it before. Also the cleanliness of the place was non existent. The toilets were filthy as was the in door play area.
Will never go again and will never recommend to anyone.

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback, we welcome constructive criticism and always endeavour to learn from our guests' comments and make improvements where possible. We are sorry your visit wasn’t what you expected. The birthday party package has a discounted price and is a timed event, which are at set times throughout the day, unfortunately due to late arrivals the birthday tour started later than the time allocated. The educational team are fully trained and deal with large groups of children daily, offering fun interactive tours; however the safety of the children is always paramount. The centre toilet cleanliness are checked hourly and our soft play area has recently been awarded Gold by Rospa. Please contact the centre direct on 01493 330631 where the management team would be more than happy to discuss your comments, many thanks.

Absolutely terrible visit, as a local resident I certainly won’t be visiting again. I would much rather drive further afield. The whole place looks tired and you can walk around it all in an hour, that includes looking at tanks twice as you have to double back on yourself to get around the whole centre.

There was a large group of us visiting for my child’s birthday party, upon entering after booking tickets online we were told that there was building work taking place so some of the areas were closed off. We were not told this when purchasing tickets online.

The section that was closed off meant that the whole visit was cut short and the visit was not worth the money at all. The play area was also closed, again this was not on their website.

I spoke to the manager who had terrible customer service skills and clearly needs some further training in this area. I was told that no refund was possible and that we had received a 30% voucher to visit again. I explained to him that I would not be visiting again. He also thought that saying that the play area had been closed for 3 years somehow justified its closure, even though the centre would have been shut for covid for most of this time.

I will be telling friends, family and colleagues not to waste their money visiting. Such a shame as I normally like to help local businesses.

Hi chloelV3580WW, Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback of your recent visit with us. I am sorry to read that on this occasion your visit to us did not meet your expectations. As you have mentioned we are currently in the middle of revamping a tired section of the attraction which we will reopen at Easter 2023. We have put guest announcements on our website explaining this before our guests book tickets with us. This allows them to make their own informed decision whether to purchase tickets to visit us or to wait until the works are completed. We also remind our guests when they arrive. Unfortunately when booking tickets through discounted 3rd party ticket sellers, which you did, we are unable to put the required information regarding the building works. We are also giving all of our guests a 30% discounted voucher to come and visit us again when the new area opens for the inconvenience caused. The area that is being redeveloped has 4 creature displays which is less than 8% of or overall displays. Our play area Closed at the tail end of 2019 and we have removed all mention of this from our website and is not included in our entry ticket. We will take your feedback on board and continue to improve our communication to our guests making them aware of our improvement works that are happening. we do hope that you take use of the return visit discount and come and see our new area after in April. Many thanks Nathan

I visit the Sea life Great Yarmouth center a couple of times a year, my previous visit before last week was in February.
Admission is around £18 for an adult which is quite expensive for what you get, however under 5 are free which makes it more reasonable and you can come and go all day.
I live around an hour away which makes a season pass hard to justify and therefore expect to really make a day of it if we do travel.
The aquarium took us just under an hour to walk round with my 2 year old setting the pace, we were fortunate enough to go on a Peppa pig day so also completed the activities on the way round.
It was a bit disappointing to see the jellyfish had been replaced by plastic bags however it remained my 2 year olds favourite part. She also was curious about the exhibit displaying beach toys on a sea bed and the impact they had, I think she wanted to play with the frisbee.
It is exciting to be able to touch a starfish at the end but you mustn’t touch the anemones which is hard to explain to a toddler who sees something squishy and red!
One of my favourite parts, as I’m sure is many other parents, is the soft play. It gives you 30 minutes for a coffee while you wait for lunch and the kids play. This has been closed since the beginning of soft play and we have been offered different reasons on both of our visits. This time we were told a ‘revamp’ was going to happen, I’d like to know when? As the prices haven’t been reduced to reflect this part of the attraction being shut and I won’t be returning because of this.
On this occasion the cafe wasn’t serving hot food and nothing on the website suggested this. We had to leave the site to eat which really took away the ‘go round again’ factor after lunch as it would have meant walking back up to the center.
On the whole, it is a nice place to visit, but is not worth the money and only takes an hour to see everything.

Thank you for taking the time to review us. We are sorry that you only went around our attraction once as there is no time limit and over 1,500 sea creatures to discover, our guest survey data shows that on average the time spent in the aquarium is 1.5 hours. The soft play area is an additional feature and therefore not advertised on our website and not included in the admission price of the aquarium, however at this time, in order to comply with Merlin Health & Safety standards, we are unable to open the soft play area, this is to ensure everyone has a safe visit. We are pleased you and your family were able to enjoy the Peppa Pig event which is an additional feature for guests to experience. We do hope you visit again soon

Animals seemed well looked after but it was so overcrowded you had to queue like cattle to get through the place with no real space to stop and actually read about the animals. I'm pretty sure they must be going over fire safety capacity, we were like sardines at times with no route of escape. We paid £4 for the activity pack but it was such a waste of money because we couldn't see any of the display boards due to so many other people. Compared to other animal attractions it's fairly similar on cost but experience wise (especially with a buggy) it was awful.

Hi R8320JOgraceh Thank you for your feedback, and we are very sorry your experience did not live up to expectation. The popularity of Sea Life centres inevitably results in their being busy at peak times and especially during school holidays, and for those wishing to study every display carefully and appreciate everything it and its fishy residents has to offer, we know that large numbers of other visitors can be a distraction. That is why we recommend timing your visit, if possible, to avoid the middle of the day during these busy periods. Arriving soon after we open our doors, or late afternoon, will usually guarantee the freedom to explore leisurely and with relatively little disruption from other guests. We have an excellent fire safety record and undertake regular fire inspections, so I hope this goes some way to reassure you. Kind regards

Thank you for your review. How unfortunate your visit only lasted for 30 mins, as we feature in the region of 1,500 sea creatures and we believe that it takes more than a cursory glance to spot all our fishy residents, our survey data shows that our guests spend on average 2hrs in our attraction. We do hope you will visit again sometime and make a more leisurely, more thorough exploration, perhaps seeking the help of one of our resident experts. Many thanks

I wouldn't visit again, reason being its very small and way over priced, I loved the tunnel with the sharks and the sea turtle but have to say that was the only part worth a visit for and just isn't worth the entry price, the gift shop is very large which has a cafe to, my 4 year old myself and my mum visited here but regretted it because of the cost. Money not well spent. We saw everything within 25 minutes max.

The Sea Life centre isn’t the largest place you will ever visit but the experience is well worth it. My daughter loved walking around and learning about the animals (it’s not just fish). The staff are very friendly and my daughter loved touching a star fish. In these Covid times they are limiting numbers and there is plenty of hygiene stations and social distancing in operation.

To get value for money check out available discounts on Kelloggs promotional packs such as Frosties cereal bars - you get one free adult ticket with either a paying child or adult which cuts the cost, you order the tickets online in advance. The centre itself is a fun way to spend a few hours and the tanks are all well maintained with plenty of different fish and sealife to see. The rays in the open pool are delightful to watch as they raise their heads (?) up out of the water. The displays are informative and it certainly makes you think about the amount of pollution in the sea and how much sealife is being depleted due to overfishing. The staff are all friendly and Jade at the touch pool area was very informative. Take the time to show your appreciation of their hard work by completing the touchpad survey before you leave.
