Overview
You can travel through the Tromso countryside on your own, but it wouldn’t be anything like this reindeer sledding and Sami culture tour. The excursion includes a reindeer-drawn sled ride plus a visit to a traditional lavuu (Sami tent) to enjoy a meal and cultural stories. You’ll also get the chance to stand with a herd of 200 reindeer under close supervision from a guide.
What to Expect
Meet your guide for your tour and hop in a sled pulled by reindeer. Ride through the forest for a while until you get to an area with around 200 reindeer. Get out and under the close supervision of your guide, stand with the reindeer and even take part in an optional feeding.
Afterward, head to a lavuu (a Samil tent), and warm up with a coffee and traditional Sami soup while you listen to stories about Sami culture.
Once your tour is over, you'll need to find your own way back to your hotel.

Great day tour! Highly recommend!

My partner and I did the afternoon tour on Christmas Day! This tour was a once in a life time experience - meeting and feeding reindeer, reindeer sledding, trying reindeer soup and hearing all about the Sami culture. Would highly recommend!

Satisfactory

We chose the evening tour thinking there may have been a chance to see the Northern Lights. Don’t bother with that one as the chance of that at that time of night is very remote. We had a ride on a sleigh, two laps of...More

One of the highlights of the trip

This has been a very fantastic trip to cap off our Tromso tour. We were introduced to some of the indigenous Sami people running the camp and then given intructions on what and what not to do when feeding the reindeers. The reindeers appear intimidating...More
