great experience
Feb 2020
Ivar's enthusiasm for the outdoors is infectious. You know by his experience and professionalism that you are in safe hands. We met him at the Tourist Information in Bodo and he drove us into the hills where he helped us put on our snowshoes and guided us into the beautiful snowy landscape, We would not have found this walk without a guise. We saw moose tracks but never saw the beast. Ivar takes you at your your pace and does not push you past your capabilities. Excellent experience. We would do it again and recommend it to others.

Thank you Anton! I was impressed that you stayed at Misten (favorite AirBnB) these days. And what a day we had! These sunny, cold, crispy days is nothinmg to expect every day along the coast in Northern Norway. Know what? This trip is the first snowshoe trip we do in this area; I have never crossed that bridge with snowshoes. But I knew excactly how pristine that landscxape were. So happy to share it with you!

Great experience and perfect service
Feb 2020 • Couples
Ivar organised a wonderful snowshoeing trip for us. He answered very fast and assisted us, while the cruise ship arrived one day early as we planned.
It was no problem for him to change the trip.
For us it was a great experience! We're very thankful!

Thank you Christian, we do our best to reply as quick as possible. We are happy when we are able to switch dates, but it was a bit unusual that visitors arrive one day prior to planned date. We fixed it !

Amazing hike!
We arranged it all very spontaneously - within half an hour of starting a chat we sat in Ivar's car and were on our way. We got a nice little tour around the city and visited a viewing point before heading for the hiking spot. Our small group of only 4 people allowed for us to take a lot of decisions about what to do and where to go - very nice :)
We were very lucky with the weather so got to experience some amazing views. The route we took was simply amazing though. Ivar taught us a lot about the Norwegian nature and culture and made it such a great experience! You can really tell how he simply loves what he's doing :)
We couldn't have had a better day in Bodø and would totally contact Ivar again if we visit the city in the future!
Oh to top the day off we went to a rooftop bar just as it got dark to enjoy some more beautiful views with a beer/ tea and talk about our day. Ivar really made us feel welcome in his city and we left feeling like we made a friend - thank you! :)

Thanks Jenni, You got it: I really love what I do (especially on such a great winter-day). Guess you also noticed it; I enjoyed to have some fun with William, it was really nice to meet the 4 of you. I was really surprised when I figured out you knew the two others as well. That is a good start for such a trip into the Hidden Valley. Not sure if I asked you if you enjoyed the time spent alone by the fire (while the others explored the forest by snowshoes) - but I do remember the open fire gave your boot a special treatment, right? Ending that day at the top bar was just the right thing to to. If/when you and William ever come back to Northern Norway; reach out for more true wilderness experience - I noticed you both enjoyed it!?

Wonderful day out, saw sea eagles, reindeer and Saltstraumen
Feb 2019 • Couples
This tour made our short stay in Bodø perfect. We were picked up and dropped in time and at the places we requested. The whole time in between was packed with a great tour into the deep snow. The provided equipment worked perfectly and was in great condition. The group size for the tour was very small, so we got a lot of interaction with our guide Ivar, who was knowledgable and clearly passionate about the area. Along the way we had time to explore the famous Saltstraumen when the tidal current was at its strongest, and saw plenty of wild life.

Thank you Jan, The guests are what makes our experiences interesting - we like meeting new people and of course to get your perspective to Northern Norway where we live. We were lucky with everything on this trip; we saw the moose, some sea-eagles, even the Dipper (national bird of Norway) and we had perfect conditions for snowshoeing. We even managed to get you on to the ferry for Lofoten. Then you met the storm - I guess that was an experience too?

Hi Thomas, and thanks to both of you! I meant what I said; this was for sure one windy day in Bodø - it is not like that every day. Anyway you managed well with the snowshoeing to my favorite lake! I do hope you chose to explore those islands nearby Tromso?

Wonderful day with the nicest guide in a stunning nature
The snowshoe hike was absolutely amazing and it was definitely the best day of our whole trip through the north of Norway. The guide was really nice and explained a lot about the Norwegian culture and nature. We walked through a stunning, peacefully nature and had a bonfire for a lunch break. Since we were interested in the coastline of Bodø as well, she showed as some beautiful spots after the hike. We all really enjoyed this day and recommend it to everyone!

Thanks Linda, Guide Elida told me you had a great day outdoors - we totally agree with you about the nature: stunning & peacefully (that's why we prefer to live above The Arctic Circle). Adding a bonfire lunch & some extra sightseeing along the coast is easy - these trips are not about keeping strictly to a schedule. We always try to add some extra.

A great snowshoeing tour with Ivar
Dec 2018 • Couples
We had a very interesting trip with Ivar. He is not only selling a tour, but he also gives us a lot of good advice. I think, he really loves the nature. We had took some tours during the time in Bodo, but the sowshoeing tour with Ivar is our most satisfied one. We had took a tour to go to see the northern lights from an another company before meeting Ivar. The tour guides in that tour are not really professional. It seems that they just want to finish the tour as soon as they can. I did not succeed in seeing the lights then! If I had met Ivar before taking the tour to see the northern lights, he would give me good advice to have more chance to be successful. I strongly recommend him. If you want to have a great tour in Bodo, take your phone and call Ivar then!

Dear Henry, thanks a lot for joining! You are correct; I do what I love and love what I do - still exploring this part of Northern Norway myself. I think the best way to share my passion for Bodo is by sharing the best local insider tips for what visitors can do on their own too = satisfied guests. France is not that far away; you`re welcome to join us any time - try summer season nest time. Then we wont need to make an open fire when exploring the forests...

Perfect day in nature, friendly guide, amazing landscape
Dec 2018 • Solo
After driving into the mountains, we started our snowshoe-trek through the hills ans forests around Bodø. Quiet nature, a lot of information about Norway and its culture. A family of Moose showed up. We ended by sitting around a bonfire, watching the sky turn dark.

Thanks A.... - sometimes we need visitors from other parts of Europe to fully understand the valuer of silence, the untouched nature and the right to roam. We missed Saltstraumen tidal current, but spending more time in the snowy forest was worth it. Thanks for joining!
