Overview
Austria’s Danube Valley is known for its stunning landscapes and UNESCO World Heritage Site status, and it’s a popular choice for a day trip from Vienna. This tour takes in all the highlights, including a guided tour of Melk Abbey, a boat cruise along the Danube River or a meal (seasonal), and a trip to see views along the Wachau Valley.
What to Expect
Arrive at the central Vienna meeting point for a 9am departure. Travel to the Danube Valley aboard a comfortable coach and follow the Danube River into the countryside filled with dense woodlands and rolling vineyards.

In the UNESCO-listed Wachau Valley, listen as your guide points out historic landmarks, such as the medieval castle of Burgruine Durnstein and riverside towns, like the wine village of Krems.

Board a boat in Spitz for a 1.5-hour Danube River cruise, taking in dramatic views while gliding downstream to Melk. Between November and April the boat cruise will be replaced by a meal in a local restaurant.

Browse the shops in Melk village before boarding the coach for the return journey to Vienna.

Serene.Beautiful..

One of the memorable experiences and trip that you should definitely take, if in Vienna. Scenery is great, river cruise is memorable - if you are visiting by October(it doesn't occur November onward). This is UNESCO heritage site and once you visit you understand why.

We would do this again

Cloudy rainy day. It would be nice to see in sunny weather. We specified "English" for our tour, which turned out to be combined with Italian/Spanish language, most likely a function of the languages spoken by the tour guide. The tour guide was very informative...More

We enjoyed the outing, but poorly organized

The cruise and the abbey tour were well worth doing, but the tour organization was less than impressive. At the first stop where we had a bathroom break, (3 ladies’ stalls for dozens of people from a ton of bus tours, so not much in...More
