I love food, it gives me great joy, and I love trying new recipes. I also love visiting new places and learning about the history of the folk and their traditions and I also love a good storyteller. This tour checked all the boxes for me. The guide, Pal, a weathered fisherman, tall with white flowing locks, could play the part of Santa in a movie. Pal, was wonderful, a great storyteller, and loved his native Iceland, and its food. He kept us entertained and informed with great stories of his life as a fisherman, and the history of his beautiful town and brought us to the best eateries in town. I tried everything and I was blown away by the taste of it all. I even tried (and smelled - eeuuu!) the fermented shark, and as tradition goes, I chewed it twice, swallowed and washed it down with a shot of Snapps! Don't be scared, the stories are worst than its bite ;-)

Very entertaining tour. Our guide was so informative and shared some lovely family memories about Icelandic culture and history. We learned so much about Reykjavik and Iceland. I would highly recommend this tour.

Stefan was a wonderful guide. Introduced is to the local cuisine each was an adventure.. his knowledge of Iceland and its history was never ending. He was a great story teller.. Highly recommend this tour.

We went on the bakery/ candy tour. Our guide was Mathias and he was very good and laid back. We stopped by several places in the downtown area visiting bakeries, a Greek donut shop, ice cream shop, and a restaurant for cheesecake with skyr. We also visited a gift shop to sample different flavors of licorice. My husband and I were the only people on the tour and we had plenty of time for conversation with Mathias. We talked about the history of Iceland and everyday life there.

Excellent tour of the vibrant local craft beer scene in Reykjavik. Our guide was knowledgeable and a lot of fun to hang with. Highly recommend this tour.

Our guide, Einar was fun and knowledgeable. We enjoyed the folklore aspect very much. Our guide was also very knowledgeable about the history of Iceland.

The guide david made the tour very interesting and pleasant. we saw many landmarks of the city and heard the stories behind them. we also were lucky with the weather.

A great way to get acquainted with the highlights of Reykjavik and the history of Iceland. Our guide, Arnar, was congenial, informative and entertaining. We learned a lot about the culture, government, natural resources, language, and "hidden ones" of Iceland. The tour gave us a fuller picture of this beautiful country.

Our guide, Gardar, was amazing. We tasted delicious food and learned a lot about Icelandic history and culture along the way.

We did this at 4.00 pm yesterday 26th Sept. Our host obviously did not want to be there. Just seemed tired and bored and kept looking at his watch. Walked too fast for some people yet we seem to arrive too early. Had one hour at one place. We had to dig information out of him. Luckily we had some fun people in our group. It could have been an awful afternoon. Food was fine. Completely over priced. Better just to do your own thing.

I booked this tour based on the previous reviews (all seemed positive) as well as my curiosity of Icelandic Folklore. I was sorely disappointed as were my 2 friends. Stephan was our guide and spent very little time on elves and trolls and more time on zombies and the Yule lads. He just didn't seem interested or enthused. (maybe because the tour was at 5:30 pm and he had just come from a swimming pool ?) With such a rich literary history, surely he could have come up with a a few stories about elves and trolls. Walk was a complete waste of time and money! The next day we embarked on a 10 day tour of Iceland and that guide had numerous elf and troll stories to tell as we made our way around the Ring Road . Definitely made up for the Reykjavik Walking Tour.

Very informative tour, we didn't get to the church our guide got a little caught up in the history of the city. This was not a problem for us.

We had an amazing tour with Einar, so knowledgeable and easy to get along with. We got to see Reykjavik but also learned the history behind it. The highlight was when we visited a church and Einar was talking about a particular hymn and then actually sung it, beautiful voice. Really enjoyed.

We did this walking tour on our first day in Reykjavik. It was a great way to get oriented to the city. We learned a ton about Iceland. Our guide Stefan I. was entertaining and very informative. We learned about everything from politics, local beer and elves!

We had a Aron as a private for chauffeur for several days, including this and the Northern Lights. Aron was incredible, highly recommend you ask for him. Tours were amazing and we felt we really got to experience Iceland thanks to him. We had a couple of questions and company was always quick to reply and very easy to work with.
