A great day on the Golden Circle, fantastic guide and driver!
I booked a tour on the Golden Circle for a class of high school students from Denmark. The communication and booking prior to the trip was easy and all went smooth, both planning the trip and also the payment. In the morning of the trip, the bus was about 5 minutes late, but we got a call from the office, telling us, that the bus is on the way, just about 5 min. too late. That was a great service! We had "Beggy" and "Chris" as our guide and driver and it was an amazing tour! The guide was so good to addapt to the students and their needs (and patience) and gave us a great insight into Iceland, the culture, nature and the region. Chris was a great driver, driving us secure for the whole day! So the two together made a great day for us and they also managed, that we were back in Reykjavik in time, so some of the students could make it for their whale watching appointment afterwards. So, a great day, comfortable bus, great guide+driver and our warm reccomandation to use Bus Travel Iceland!

    Stunning scenery
Great guide, and seen a lot in one day. Tour never finished until about 8pm but this could easily of been cut by an hour - tour spoiled by one family consistently being 5-10 mins later back to the bus and not been pulled up on it. Rest of bus had to sit waiting, wasting our precious time.

    Best money ever spent
Glacier Lagoon (Jökulsárlón) & South Iceland Tour was amazing. Even though it was long, the bus was comfy, and we made several stops along the way which were not included, for example, northern lights. Our driver Arthur and our guide Beggi were simply amazing, they deserve a raise! Would book with this company again!

A great tour with a great tour guide
The places we visited were all amazing! Considering the distances we travelled and things we saw, I’d say it was money well spent. The tour guide Dave was funny and gave us lots of info and tips about Reykjavik.

    Waterfalls were majestic !
Fantastic trip if you love waterfalls, beaches, caves and glaciers. Our guide Anna (and driver Albert) were fantastic. There was ample time to see all the sites and see the two waterfalls from different angles.. We climbed to the top of one and walked behind the other. The black beach was lovely because of its unique rock formations (which you can climb) and we also visited a quiet little town. Along the way, is diverse scenery with plenty of photo opportunities so don’t fall asleep - from moss covered lava rocks, to farmland, ice capped mountains and volcanoes. We even got to see some local sheep and plenty of Icelandic horses. There were several short stops for food and toilets. It was a fun day and we learnt heaps from our wonderful guide from history, geology, geography to having fun learning some Icelandic words and getting an insight into life for the average Icelandic resident eg. eduation, living conditions, pastimes, music etc.

Didn’t see them but still great tour
Martin and Johnny were great. So personable so informative. We did not see the northern lights but not because of them. It just wasn’t in the cards. Very very much suggest.

Beautiful locations, Guide makes the tour
It was rainy and windy the whole day but I personally really liked this. The contrast between the hot spring (secret lagoon/the old pool) & the icy wind was invigorating. The tourguide really made the day though! He had reams of interesting information told in an entertaining way, history & local geographical knowledge etc, ending the tour by singing a traditional Icelandic lullaby. Great experience :)

    Very informative and entertaining
The stops and sights were all so fun and beautiful to visit. Despite the windy and slightly rainy weather, it was very worth it. The tour guide, Alain, told us various stories of economy, history, myth, geography and linguistics all of which added to the experience and knowledge of Iceland

Majestic destinations with ample photo opportunities
The destinations were simply gorgeous with amazing opportunities for good pictures. We loved the crater lake, waterfalls and feeding the Icelandic horses the most. The guide (Thorhutller) was fantastic… so knowledgeable and happy to share the history, language and stories with us. Eugene the driver drive safely and smoothly so taking photos from the bus was also an option. The bus was clean and comfortable and we felt safe leaving our belongings on it. Thanks for a great tour. We already booked our next one for tomorrow.

The Golden Circle Tour was great and Omar our guide was excellent and patient, as we ran behind pretty much all day. He knew a great deal about the area and was very informative, he could talk for hours (although he was having microphone issues and it was staticky at times with volume issues). He probably broke more than a few speed limits to keep us somewhat near schedule.

The issues I had with the tour were more of an equipment, communication and health standards level. A week or so before my tour was scheduled I emailed the vendor to confirm and asked how many were scheduled for the tour, as it is listed as a small group tour. At that time I was told there were 26 booked and they’d be sending 2 buses (so I’m thinking 13 on each bus). On the day of, after a delay on pickup due to a MVA, we arrive for the tour and it is 2 buses alright, except one had 29 on it and the overflow bookings went to the other bus. To say some of us weren’t happy, was putting it mildly. There were 6 other passengers who were told no more than 20 on a bus as well. We were crammed into a bus with very small seating and not exactly working seatbelts. At our first stop 2 of the people got off our bus and moved to the second bus, and by doing so missed out on the park altogether, as the other bus was ahead of us. So now there were 27 of us, in a bus with barely working AC and seatbelts. It was a hot day by Reykjavik standards….18 and sunny, so it got quite uncomfortable at times. My last issue with the tour was for Covid standards….there was a gentleman on our tour who was not well, he was picked up at the same stop with us and was visibly sick and coughing before the pick up. Masks weren’t mandatory on the bus, so many went without (not my family) and this gentleman was coughing all day, he was sick to the point he got off the bus at the first stop, but couldn’t do the walk and went back to the bus, and he never got off again until the Blue Lagoon, where he was unmasked and mingling in the lagoon. I completely understand living with Covid, but this was just being reckless and he shouldn’t have been allowed on the tour.

Having said that, the beauty of Iceland is stunning and learning about it and getting to see so many locations in a one day was a treat and I’d recommend visiting to anyone. This is an area you don’t want to miss out on.

One of the best days of our lives from start to finish! The day was perfect and magical throughout. Our tour guide Gudrun was AMAZING!!! She kept us so entertained throughout the day with lots of facts and knowledge about Iceland and the places we were visiting, such careful driving on the icy roads and we felt so safe and looked after - she was such a wonderful soul and we appreciated it so much! Finishing off the day at Blue Lagoon at night time was an excellent touch and the beauty of it was overwhelming as well as the complimentary face mask & drink. Absolute trip of a lifetime ❄️💖

We were lucky to have just 6 people on our tour which made it feel like a private tour. We went on the bustravel Iceland small group tour and our informative and friendly guide was Howser. We were told about Icelandic history and geology along with interesting tales from Howser’s life in Iceland. The vehicle was comfortable and clean.
The scenery is spectacular and the stops on this tour are all worthwhile with an appropriate amount of time at each stop. Howser even managed to squeeze in a couple of extra stops which was an unexpected bonus.
The 2 hour stop at the Blue Lagoon was a relaxing way to end the tour and not crowded at the time we visited All in all a great tour to tick off many of the well known sights.

This is an unmissable trip and i can’t recommend it enough! It involves some of the many incredible sights Iceland has to offer and took my breath away!
Howser our guide was amazing, very friendly and informative. He couldn’t do enough for the group and made us all feel very welcome, while having many stories and facts to share on the way.
This trip managed to include everything i wanted to see whilst visiting Iceland and ending at the blue lagoon, which was also fab.
Highly recommend booking with ‘bus travel iceland’ the trip was well organised and we actually got more than we bargained for, stopping at a shopping centre where the tectonic plates were and the horses too!
Howser seemed to enjoy his job very much, which made the trip so much more enjoyable for everyone else!
Can’t recommend enough!
Thank you Howser & bus travel iceland :)

Our family had a wonderful time on this tour! We had Simon as our driver/guide and he was excellent! Driving to each location was not as far/difficult as I was expecting, and our driver made sure to stop and give us a break in the morning. To be honest, the scenery was so beautiful that the drive went by easily. Our bus was small, but comfortable and each seat has a charging port on the side. There were small storage compartments over each seat as well, but when we stopped the bus was locked so that we were able to leave our belongings inside if needed. Overall a 10/10.

loved it all: a bit expensive but it covers a lot: you see Gullfoss (magnificent waterfalls, a crater, an active Geyser and the area, the tectonic plates partition, and end up in the Blue Lagoon for a restful full 2 hours, (no rush) there it includes a towel, a drink, the mask and the entrance fee. everything really well executed. lunch and rest stops along the way. the bus was clean and neat, the driver was sweet and attentive, professional. really special sightseeing. a long day, but worth it.

Fantastic - highly recommend. Communication was great, pick up was prompt and our driver/guide Siggi Anton was brilliant, very knowledgeable and excellent driving. He is very friendly and made the day interesting by offering extra information as we drove between stops and while we visited the sights. Although he has done this for years he still seems to enjoy it and gets excited about the wonderful landscape. There were only 8 or 9 people in our tour which was a nice amount - all lovely and friendly. Comfortable, warm bus and I didn't feel motion sick at all which is very rare for me! We got a nice surprise when we stopped at a small horse show and tomato farm where we had lunch - absolutely delicious fresh tomato soup and homemade breads (other items also available). Finished off very nicely with a soak in the Blue Lagoon. Would definitely recommend this tour with Siggi!

The natural scenery was awesome but I would not book a trip with this provider in the future. We were picked up 20 minutes into the 30 minute window. Not ideal but I knew to expect this as a possibility. Then we were driven to a gas station to wait for our actual bus. We waited for 45+ minutes. The tour said the max number of guests would be 24 but we had 26. It wouldn’t be a big deal but the bus was so small that it was exceptionally cramped. In addition to the number of people there should be some info on the bus like leg room etc I think to make a better decision. It also sucked to be mislead by the company

To put my feelings re this company in perspective, I was on a tour with another company where our bus was blown off the road and required a rescue. I strongly recommend that vendor over this one.

Also the driver gave us scant info on the sites. “This is the crater” stop was the most we could expect. Really poor service all around.

Our tour guide Siggi was great! Made extra stops so we could sample local ice cream and see Icelandic horses. There was a storm during our visit to the Blue Lagoon, but he brought us all together and we laughed through the rain. Would recommend to anyone visiting Iceland!

We did this Trip on 13 Aug 2022. David was our guide. He was excellent. V patient and informative.

Unfortunately our trip was ruined by a lady from the USA who completely dominated the trip by asking questions every time David had finished speaking. I was sat right behind her. She was googling things and then asking questions to check David knew the right answer. She then turned the conversation on the bus towards controversial issues like gun control, hunting, Brexit, refugees etc. David answered all her questions using the us PA and it was frankly very wearing on an 11 hour trip.

David himself must be exhausted.

A great trip. But It all depends who your fellow passengers are. Unfortunately ours was blighted by this sorry individual.
