About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:

- Roam5333060 contributionsGood choice, worth the priceIf you are first timer. This tour is worth it. I like a small bus as i can sit by my self n enjoy the view. The driver is nice. The price is good. I wish i vould stay longer in some places. But, its a guided group tour, so we have to be very efficient, so we can see everything.Written 5 October 2024
- I1272CSsheilaa0 contributionsGolden Circle was just okThis is my family's first visit to Iceland and we booked the Golden Circle as i was told it is a must see area of Iceland. My overall impression is that all the stops in the itinerary were just ok. We stopped at Golfoss (waterfall), The Geysir, Kerid Crater, and Thingviller National Park. It is an easy tour for people who cannot do a lot of walking or hiking. Our tour guide Dominic (he does not like to be called Nick, he says) made the tour more enjoyable. He talked about each attraction before dropping us off at each parking lot. Dominic also added a couple of extra stops which we enjoyed the most. First was the quick stop at a farm that let us see and pet their Islandic Horses. Being an animal lover, our family was really happy with this stop. Second extra stop was at a daily farm that also had an ice cream shop. The ice cream was freshly made from their cow's milk. Can't get any more delicious than that. Again, my overall opinion of this tour is that it was a good experience for first time tourists like us but compared to other sights we visited in Iceland, this was just an ok one.Written 5 October 2024

- Rjonesweb0 contributionsSouth Coast TourAmazing sites and beautiful scenery. Tour guide very knowledgeable about the history and formation of country. One thing to keep in mind is that this is definitely an all-day journey of approximately 12 hours. If you want to spend less time on an excursion, plan a different excursion.Written 3 October 2024
- Morgan M0 contributionsShortened tour, change of itinerary, great places to seeThe tour guide said we would get back around 1800 (6pm) and we returned at 1530 (330pm). We felt like we got shorted 2+ hours of our tour. Also our itinerary changed. When I booked the tour we were supposed to go to another waterfall and a wool market. When I went back to the itinerary it had changed- so we didn’t have any proof of this. Also if you’re looking for a tour where they tell you a lot about Iceland, our guide really told us bare minimum information. But the places we saw were amazing, and we got to see a lot of Iceland in a fast amount of time. Just reviewing so other bookers know what they’re signing up for!Written 3 October 2024

Vjeran is extremely knowledgeable of Iceland's history and kept us informed and entertained on the drives between sites. This tour covers a lot of sites and is well worth the day spent!Written 30 September 2024
- Theworldata0 contributionsJust phenomenalThis was a phenomenal day out. The minibus was comfortable, our tour guide was fantastic telling us about the history and geology of the areas we drove through between locations. The sights were stunning - I especially loved the basalt columns and caves at the black sand beach, and the glacier walk was also a highlight. Take waterproofs (including trousers!) if you want to experience walking behind one of the waterfalls - the spray is pretty extreme. All in all a really magical part of our trip.Written 29 September 2024

- 1959iliketravel0 contributionsGreat private tour for group of 16We booked a private golden circle tour with this company with a group of 16 we were travelling with. We were coming in the morning on a cruise but our boat could not dock at the expected time of arrival as the cruise terminal was closed due to to high winds. After lots of communication back and forth with our tour sales rep Sophia we were able to communicate and arrange to continue with our tour around 1130 We had a great day including lunch but we’re unfortunately not able to get our 1 hr Reykjavik city tour at the end of the day due to our ships late arrival time and it was getting dark Thanks Sophia for booking and arranging this tour for usWritten 29 September 2024

Following on from a recommendation from some friends who visited Iceland before, they suggested booking our trips with Your Day Tours. We haven't been disappointed. This young tour operator (only going 4 years) provides a brilliant balance of information, weird facts and general good fun throughout the day tour stopping off at some of the most wonderful sights in Iceland.
From start to finish they have been excellent. Communication before and after the trip was unexpected. The day started off with an on-time pick up near our apartment. Once on the bus our guide/driver IVARRRRRRRRRR kept us entertained with stories, facts and information on all the sites we visited. Each stop was perfectly timed, with just the right amount of time to spend at these wonderful attractions.
This particular tour is stunning, from visiting some of the most picturesque waterfalls in the world driving through the national parks,, visiting where the Mid-Atlantic Ridge tectonic plate, Geyser home of the world famous blasting volcanic springs to finally taking a dip in the secret lagoon, a beautiful outdoor geothermal pool where your skin will come out silky smooth.
This is a day trip that you wont forget.
I'd recommend this tour operator and trip to anyone visiting Iceland.
We are already planning our trip back.

Me and two friends booked this tour after reading reviews and it was amazing. Our guide Addy was awesome - quite sweet and softly spoken but full of humour and more importantly - knowledge! They really squeeze a lot in to the day, which again makes for excellent value, but the highlight has to be getting to the secret lagoon not long after opening and having the entire place to ourselves... quite magical! It’s still dark’ish outside, very quiet... only at about 11:15 did other tour groups start to arrive. The tour moves at a great pace - not rushed but quick enough to stop you freezing over, and Addy knew they answer to every question we threw at her. She also appreciated when we started to get a bit tired and just played some tunes and let us nap.
All in all I am not really a group tour sort of person and was a bit dubious about it, but wasn’t disappointed and thought it was excellent value for a full day out, too.

Hi
I did a golden circle (with secret lagoon) tour last week with my adult son and daughter. We had an amazing day, the pace of the day and all the various stops along the tour were perfect. We saw the sunrise, breathtaking landscapes, waterfalls, geysers, met Icelandic horses and sheep and ended the day with a lovely hot dip in a pool. Our guide Bjorn was fun, informative and l felt that we were in very safe hands. It was lovely to hear someone talk about their home country with such pride.
I would certainly recommend "Your Day tours" to friends and family and when I come to Iceland again will book tours with this company again.

The negatives first, the weather, which the tour operator could do nothing about but it poured all day with the rain being almost horizontal at times and there is quite a bit of walking todo on this tour! Although booked for 8-8.30 pick up at the cruise port, the minibus didn’t actually arrive until around 8.45 so after standing around for about an hour and seeing other tour groups being picked up, we were a little concerned until it arrived. The driver/guide was Franklin and he was knowledgeable and enthusiastic and regaled us with folklore, history and local knowledge while we travelled to our various calls, which were all as described and were spectacular, but more so on a good day! The lunch stop, near the geysers, was fine and it was nice to be in the dry after getting in and out of the minibus but with the cost of a bowl of tomato soup being £14GBP, a reminder of how expensive Iceland was. The highlight of the day for me was the Secret Lagoon and it was so nice to relax in the hot water, even though the rain continued to pour down. Franklin joined us in the pool and soon had a large audience surrounding him as he told us tales of Icelandic and Norse history and he was in his element. All in all a great tour but a long day, especially when the minibus has to pick up and drop off other guests at city centre hotels, delaying its arrival at the cruise port and meaning a drop off about 2 hours after the last stop.

I greatly enjoyed this tour. The guide was very knowledgeable and told the history and stories of Iceland during the trip. The group was small which was nice because it felt more intimidate. This trip was able to knock out almost all of the major sites I wanted to see during my visit to Iceland. I recommend it!

Short review (longer review below)
This is a fantastic tour and I would highly recommend this to anyone! Anna, our tour guide was absolutely brilliant and had us laughing from 8am until she dropped us back.
This is an incredible and affordable way to visit the golden circle.
If you’re going to Iceland, book this now!
Long review
We were collected from bus stop 3 by Anna, our tour guide, in her wifi ready and comfortable mini bus. (I would highly recommend a small group/ mini bus tour rather than a large group on a coach. We did both and this was by far the better option)
You are given a pick up window of about 30 minutes, from your designated bus stop. Loads of buses come in and out of these stops, rest assured your guide will come out and read the names out loud.
Anna explained that she had restructured the tour to maximise the limited daylight (as we visited in January, there is roughly 6 hours of sunlight).
We started at the Golden Falls, Gulfoss, which was honestly some of the most breathtaking scenery we’d ever seen and was worth the ticket price alone. Anna was so informative of where to go, she would ensure everyone had a comfortable and memorable experience. She even drove the bus to the other end of the falls so if you struggled with mobility, you could still see the falls from the comfort of the bus. (These little touches, really did make it special).
We didn’t feel rushed at any point of the day, and Anna gave us ample time to enjoy.
We then visited some local Icelandic horses on the way to the Geysers. Do note that in the winter season, the terrain is very slippery, so it is a good idea to bring crampons (snow spikes for your shoes). This was also our lunch spot, though we packed our own sandwiches, there is a little cafe where you can grab some food. Taking a packed lunch allowed us to have more time to explore.
Next stop was the secret lagoon. I would recommend packing your own towels, though you can hire these at the reception desk. (Be sure to bring something for your wet swim stuff to go in after aswell). This is an amazing little lagoon and an incredible way to experience Iceland’s geothermal energy. It is a lot quieter than the blue lagoon, so if you haven’t managed to go there then don’t worry.
Our final stop was Thingvellir National Park where the views were indescribable. This is a really good way to see where the tectonic plates meet. The terrain here was slightly slippery and treacherous, be sure to keep an eye on your children here, as my boyfriend and I had our romantic moment interrupted by an small child who fell upside down into a hole, who we ran to rescue.
To conclude, this is an absolutely incredible tour. Iceland is truly the most beautiful country I have ever seen and Anna was just brilliant.

This tour was perfect in every way. Started at Secret Lagoon which was fantastic as we were the first people there and had the lagoon to ourselves for a good 20 minutes. Stein our guide was friendly and extremely knowledgeable. Big thanks to Stein!! The sites visited were breathtaking and we even squeezed in a trip to a small farm to see Icelandic horses which isn’t mentioned on the itinerary. I think the price of the tour is extremely fair and couldn’t recommend the tour highly enough!

Because our South Coast tour was canceled due to weather, Breki suggested the Golden Circle and Secret Lagoon tour. We were traveling with our 2 sons (ages 5 and 8) so we were worried about the length and timing at each stop of an organized day tour. Our tour was phenomenal! Almar was a fantastic guide and I can not thank him enough for bringing us to see Icelandic horses as an added bonus stop of the tour. I think my son will treasure the horse shoe he got for life!
Along the way we were told facts, jokes, stories etc. that were enjoyable for kids and adults. It was really fun to learn about Iceland from a local and hear stories and facts about each site we visited, interesting news and history about the government, the history, and local folklore.
I'm so glad we were able to see the Secret Lagoon...the kids didn’t want the day to end! When we go back to Iceland someday we will certainly book a day tour with Your Day Tours. The pick up and drop off within Reykjavik are close to all of the centrally located hotels, the vans are comfortable and clean, the drivers and guides are awesome people you will have a great day with.

With limited time and no transport, this seemed like a good way to get a taste of Iceland and I would highly recommend it.
Roger was an excellent guide, very kind and considerate and made this tour very special. He went to great lengths to try and make sure it was a comfortable and enjoyable trip for all. It felt tailored to our needs and he made everyone feel welcome and at ease. The commentary throughout was entertaining and informative giving us an excellent insight into the history, geography, culture and daily life in Iceland.
Despite it only being a day tour and cramming a lot in, we never felt rushed. I would recommend taking a lunch snack to avoid queuing/wasting time when you can be walking around the geyser area.
Thank you so much!

I went with tour 'golden circle and Secret Lagoon' last saturday and IT WAS AMAZING! The tour is definitely perfectly organized, and not only the stunning view and fantastic places, but also our guide Addy was the best tour guide I've ever seen. She was so informative and helpful, all the knowledge, Icelandic legends and tales, scientific stories, while nice drive, always with a smile. It was the best thing I did in Iceland, and I really hope to visit to Iceland and tour with her again.
And conglatulation to Addy and Iceland, Hildur Gudnadóttir won the Oscar for best original score, first woman in that category and first Icelander in Oscar as well.

Is the admission to the Secret Lagoon included with this $130 tour? Thanks
Written 6 February 2024
Yes it was with the tour we took. IIRC correctlu=y we had to bring our own swimming costumes and towels.
We also had some beach shoes for wearing in the water (useful where the beach is uneven and/or mainly stones/pebbles). We had a pair that were due to be discarded after the summer so we took them with us and binned them after the session in the lagoon. Recommended ti use them if you can but not absolutely necessary.

Our cruise ship docks on July 2 at 10 am. Can we still do this tour after it docks? And do you pick up at the cruise port for the tour? Thank you

We picked up from bus stop 10 at around 8.00 I think and returned around 5.30? You can probably pick up near the port, as there were a number of pick up points, but would need to check directly with the tour company

I’m unsure, but if you email the company you’re looking to book the trip with I’m sure they will help. I did this with 2 of my trips and found them very helpful with questions and responses within 24 hours.
I did see smaller children on the trips, but not quite as young as 2. I’m wondering if this is because the lagoon temperatures may be too hot for a toddler? Also, there is a fair bit of walking unsuitable for a pushchair in the Geysir area, that is not to say you couldn’t try though.

We are visiting first week of March, and bringing winter hiking boots with great traction - but have heard yaktrax or some other type of slip on traction help might be a good investment when walking toward these sights. All opinions welcome - did anyone use or find these helpful? Thank you again.
