About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- O3937AErobinp0 contributionsGreat way to see Iceland!Honestly, such a great experience. Saw so much, such a relief to not have to drive, and our tour guide, Filip, was amazing!Written 9 December 2024
- shannena4510 contributionsNice Travel - golden circles, Merida crater & blue lagoonOur guide “Filip” was absolutely incredible. The whole trip was just made even better by his banter, humour and general knowledge of the country and places we were visiting, he made everything feel very personal with his choice of songs and jokes. He was approachable, helpful and honestly he made the whole excursion what it was. Absolutely fabulous day, everything was timed well, we had a little disruption with the shuttles to and from the sky lagoon but through no fault of this tour it was just down to the recent events and new procedures. He made sure we were all happy and comfortable and even did his upmost best and succeeded to get another couple back in time to not miss their next northern lights excursions, the odds were against us but he used his knowledge of the best routes and ways to make sure they didn’t miss their trip. A really thoughtful guy, and a credit to the company and their tours, the views were incredible, we felt we got plenty of time in each place, it didn’t feel rushed it was just the right amount of time, plenty of toilet breaks and plenty of time at dinner also. He gave us advice about paths to take, little extras we could see along the way, things he would recommend at the food halls to get a good deal for your money, gave clear instructions. Definitely, definitely worth doing this and hope that you get “Filip” I imagine the others are fab but he just left us smiling cheek to cheek! Credit to you and hope you get the recognition you deserve!Written 8 December 2024

- 916joshn0 contributionsA golden experienceWe had a great experience on the tour! Walter was a ray of sunshine on a very cold and rainy day. He was really informative and kept the group engaged from start to finish, and we even got an extra stop to see the icelandic horses which was a lovely addition. Would highly recommend this tour!Written 8 December 2024
- W8018BJmicheller0 contributionsMother-son birthday tripWalter was one of the best day trip guides we’ve ever had. He had great energy and was very knowledgeable. Even though the weather was rainy and windy, he helped us ignore that and enjoy the day.Written 8 December 2024

- Anton B0 contributions5* Golden Circle TourThis was an all day tour and was thoroughly entertaining from start to finish. A truly unique experience seeing things that you can’t see anywhere else. Our driver, Walter was both informative and so funny. He has so much knowledge of the area, country and everything we went to see but more than that he absolutely made the tour what it was. ‘Nice Travel’ are very lucky to have him. Highly recommend this tour and is an absolute must before leaving Iceland!Written 8 December 2024
- Gesualdo Sebast... R0 contributionsWalter best guide you can wish for!Walter is honesty the best tour guide I have ever met! He is knowledgeable and informative and you can tell he loves this amazing country, yet at the same time he’s super funny (genuinely funny!) and very friendly. We could have not asked for a better guide (I’m still internally laughing at his jokes! 😀). The tour is well organised and - despite the extreme weather we encounter - it’s a one in a life time experience. It’s not too rushed (just enough time for each stop) yet packed with unique sites to see! Hopefully I get to book another tour with this amazing guy when I’m back in Iceland, I’d definitely recommend!Written 8 December 2024
- Layth19910 contributionsGolden circle tourOur tour guide Walter had such great energy, could tell he really really loves what he does, great little tour around golden circle - highly recommend and ask for Walter if you get the option - you won’t regret !Written 8 December 2024
- Maidel120 contributionsBeautiful nature but the tour company leaves much to be desiredThe nature was beautiful to see and the highlight of my trip (especially Diamond Beach, Glacier Lagoon, and the incredible ice cave tour). I had Philip as the guide and I appreciated Philip's choice in music and enthusiastic instruction. The guide was open to feedback and progressively improved the flow of the trip. I would have appreciated more heads up about what to expect before each stop. For example, we came to Gljúfrabúi and in the winter the only way to enjoy the hidden waterfall is to bring rain boots, as you must walk through water and ice to get to the water fall. This was not mentioned by the guide and I had to discover this fact on my own. Unfortunately I had to miss this spectacle because I did not know to bring rain boots (this could have been easily mentioned in the itinerary). This may seem small, but for having paid $800 for this tour, I would have expected more detailed guidance before each stop. One reason I chose a minibus tour over a large bus tour as a solo traveler was to be able to connect with other travelers on the bus, but there was no cohesive vibe on the tour as it seemed to mostly be comprised of a group traveling together with some individuals added on. Additionally, I did not receive an itinerary to my email, only an invoice, so I did not know what to expect. When I called customer service to learn about the particulars of the trip, the agent was not engaging or expansive. While I enjoyed the sights, I do not feel the trip was worth the near $800 I spent. Solo travelers must pay an additional fee (this is the case with all 2 day tours). My recommendation for solo travelers who are interested in seeing the South Coast would be to take daily trips to the area from Reykjavik and save the expense of a 2-day tour.Written 7 December 2024
- emmawO584ZF0 contributionsAmazing tripI would definitely recommend this tour, it was my favourite out of all the excursion we did. Our tour guide was very friendly and knowledgeable, we visited lots of amazing and fascinating places with so much to see and doWritten 7 December 2024
- harriette1050 contributionsGreat trip and guideMy husband booked this trip for my birthday whilst we're in Iceland. We had the pleasure of having Walter as our guide, he is great, very informative, makes time to get to know everyone. We visited on the 2nd day the blue lagoon was back open, even though the entrance and exit were different to normal, he didn't falter and everything ran smoothly. Would recommend this tour, but especially Walter. He is an asset to this company. Thank you!Written 7 December 2024

- umav890 contributionsGolden circle blue lagoon tourWe took the golden circle blue lagoon tour from Nice travels. The guide Monica was awesome, kind, and entertaining. She mentioned a lot about Iceland, played songs in local language, very interesting. When we visited, blue lagoon was closed due to the volanic eruption. They tooks us to the Hvammsvik lagoon instead. It was also beautiful. Kerid crater, waters falls and the geiser. It was totally worth.Written 6 December 2024
- Sd12440 contributionsGreat guide, extra efforts, and beautiful stops!I really enjoyed the tour guide, and stops along the tour. Our guide was very personable. Adding music even to share more of the culture! He also added stops when time allowed to see the horses! I only wish I was told the night before they were adding on a stop at a hot spring at the end of the night as that was an unexpected additional cost and I did not pack how I would if I knew about the hotspring earlier. I did appreciate they covered the cost of bathing suit since it was a last minute change. It was a very enjoyable addition.Written 6 December 2024

This 3 day tour packed in so much and then seemed to add more! Our guide Guli was both a really good driver and an interesting and informative guide. Riding in a comfortable small bus, he kept us informed and entertained during the longer bits of the drive. We saw so many beautiful wonders and had time to do a bit of hiking or walking at all the important ones. From waterfalls, to Iceland’s old faithful geysir that irruption about every 8 minutes, to lava crater lakes, glacial lagoons…it was great! The hotels we stayed in were very comfortable, with good breakfasts and friendly staff. A wonderful way to see the wonders of the south—I would do another Nicetravel tour in a heartbeat!

Christine's full professionalism was an inseparable element of the hike. Walking on a glacier that shrinks with every second and although it is powerful reminds us that everything passes. it makes everything that happens there unique and unrepeatable. something amazing.

Our adventure in Iceland was amazing!! Mika, our guide, was fantastic. We never felt rushed, had a fun time, and got to see so much more than advertised. Additionally, Mika kept apprised of the weather, and reordered tour stops to enable us to see and do more. We had a wonderful time.

What an amazing experience! Did not disappoint, but in fact exceeded expectations, Thor and Siddi ( shortened names of course to help us all to say them ) were our guides. Both were informative, very helpful and went out of their way to help make the tour memorable. Even doubled back for one of the guys on the bus who had lost their phone at one of the waterfalls. Highlight for me was the diamond beach and the glacier hike! I would happily recommend Nice Travel and would use them again.

We had a great experience on this 3 days tour. We are family of 4, we were given 2 rooms for both our hotels. The hotels were really good with great views. Our guide was Chistina and she was really good. Overall great value for money.

We did this tour in the middle of June. It started with the Golden Circle. Very touristy, but still so gorgeous. The real fun starts when you get to Nice Hostel. It was cleaner than I could have ever imagined, the beds were comfortable and clean (down duvets), and the bathrooms were so much better than expected. The food at the hostel was affordable and tasty, and the staff was kind and even offered us some of their beers. We had Mika as our driver for the rest of the trip, and he made the trip for us. He was sweet, knowledgeable, and made the strangers on the bus all become a cohesive group by the end. The glacier hike was not too hard, I'd say almost all skill levels can do it. Each attraction was gorgeous, and everyone we met was professional and excited to see Nice tours. The one thing I would have changed is to bring a warmer, waterproof jacket.

Did this tour on May 3rd. First day was a rush, second day was perfect, third day was a very boring and tiring drive, all day in the car.
The hostel is good, very friendly, well located, spotlessly clean and cozy. But this is a hostel, not hotel. Everything is shared, except the tiny rooms.
The guide from the 1st day, Malti or Matti (I'm terribly sorry, I have very bad memory!) was great, but we were paired to a day tour heading to the Blue Lagoon, so everything was a rush until 16:00, then in the evening we did nothing.
The second day was great, well planned, good hiking, lots of fresh air.
The third day was bad, very boring, tiring, all the day in a car with no stories.
The guide from the second and the third day, Ortney (not sure if I spell right, sorry again) didn't seem to be very inetrested in his work. He was traveling with his girlfriend, so on the stops he didn't spend time with the group. Generally, he did seem bored and didn't seem very professional. Just had some fun. On the third day, we missed the lunch stop and he didn't warn us in advance. No day itinerary, not so many stories, not enough taking care of the group, he was not 100% involved and was not working hard. In a day from a guide from another company, I knew way more about this area (even though we were traveling to another part of the country) than in 2 days from him.
I don't think I'll choose Nice Travel again. These guys have to learn a bit how to make minibus tours, in general. I've seen some minibus tours way better, in Iceland as well as in some other countries.

Amazing 3 days at the south coast of iceland! It was rainy for the first several days after we landed in iceland so we were worried we won’t see much during the tour but our guide David planned around the weather. He reversed the itinerary so we ended up going to the glacier and the golden circle on 2 beautiful days! He also stayed up to watch for the northern lights so we didn’t missed them. David was an awesome guide and the whole tour was spectacular. We saw a lot in a short time but we didn’t feel hurried. I would highly recommend the tour!

Spent a week in Iceland in June. The 3 Day Tour by Nicetravel was by far the highlight of the trip. David was our tour guide and driver for 2 of the three days. Beautiful scenery and experiences for three days.
While in Iceland we took two other day trips from other companies out of the city. Not as enjoyable as the Nicetravel tour experience. The other tours were large, and driver/tour guides always in a rush and didn't share much information about the city and didn't interact much with the passengers.
The 3 day Nicetravel tour was a smaller group. David was our driver for 2 of the three days, very personable. He shared a lot of information about the various waterfalls and glaciers. The tour group was much smaller and allowed for more time to visit the waterfalls and to enjoy lunch/dinner and world cup soccer games along the way.
Thank you to David and Nicetravel- excellent job, I have friends and coworkers who are interested in visiting Iceland in the next year and told them to start with Nicetravel for tours.

I joined this 3 day tour to South Coast in June as my first tour in Iceland. For the first day it was about Golden Circle and the remaining 2 days were about South Coast elements. The guides were well prepared and explained a lot about different attractions and Iceland in general. Each stop had reasonable stopover time, around 20 to 40 mins. For day 1 the golden circle and blue lagoon day tour joined us together. After visiting the elements of golden circle, around 5pm the big group was separated and we stayed in Nicehostel near the Seljalandfoss, while they had another pickup to go to blue lagoon.
On the second day they will change the guides. The guides Pablo and Jaka were so helpful and knowledgeable and we had a wonderful trip to black sand beach, different waterfalls and the glacier, although the weather was not so nice with a little showers.
Jaka didn't join us on the third day and Pablo was the only guide who drove us to Jokulsarlon for glacier boat tour. Weather was nicer with a sunshine and the blue and black floating ices in the lagoon. Pablo was so nice to make us a few short stops on request to take photos of Vatnajokull and its neighboring glacier outlets.
We all 7 people joined this 3 day tour. The stays in hostel was comfortable as well and there is a little waterfall behind the hostel. For dinner they offer pizza and lamb soup, or you can bring your own food and use the guest kitchen upstairs. The minibus was clean and equipped with Wifi. But the bus has no truck and so please do not bring large luggage or suitcase with you.
