          You will love Hidden Iceland!
Have used Hidden Iceland for three years starting with group day trips and a private trip this year. Have gone with them as adults only but also with my teenage grandson. There has never been a guide who was not excellent or a trip that I would change in any way. Their dedication to excellence never wavers as they always go to any lengths to give their travelers not only a good experience, but the experience they want plus. An extra bonus is their superior customer service when changes have to be made for weather or for changes in someone’s life. When there was no possibility of rescheduling there was never a hassle about refund. But time after time they turned themselves upside down to accommodate needed changes. Review writing is not something I do often but when a company goes out of their way for my benefit it just has to be done. This is a company with an excellent product, an honest business model and they are nice. You will not regret working with this company.

First-time visit to Iceland. Amazing experience with the Hidden Iceland staffs. First visited the Southern Coast on the first day, then we visited the Golden Circle and finished in the Blue Lagoon. Amazing service and support from the Hidden Iceland staff. Highly recommend

          Just Amazing!
Our once-in-a-lifetime trip to Iceland wouldn't have happened without Aaron at Hidden Iceland. His recommendations allowed us to explore some beautiful places and meet wonderful people on the shared 2-day tour, as well as the Golden Circle tour. I finally got to see the gorgeous Northern Lights - which was at the top of my bucket list! And we really lucked out with Bjorn as our guide for both tours - he was amazing and his knowledge of all things Iceland really blew me away! The only thing we didn't care for was the whale watching tour on the large boat, but I can't blame Aaron for that one - we picked it (if you want to do it - go on one of the smaller boats). I've told all of my friends - a visit to Iceland is a must!

Great planning and support for our self-drive tour
Hidden Iceland put together an excellent 8-day itinerary for our first time in Iceland. Working with Aaron Thomas and his co-workers was a great experience as they listened to our input, adjusted the itinerary to suit our interests and even helped us avoid the worst of the summer crowds. While there, we received timely updates when a couple of minor adjustments were required to the plans. The Trip Creator app they use once we were on location works really well, storing every little detail of the itinerary, providing directions and maps, contact info for hotels and restaurants etc and they update it in real time if necessary. We would definitely use Hidden Iceland again if returning to the country

          Lights and Nights to Remember
We traveled in October with a three generation group of twelve on an itinerary that accommodated our specific needs. As the thrilled grandmother of the group I couldn’t be happier. The logistics were seamlessly managed, our stays at The Edition, Torfhus, the staff there was exceptional, and The Blue Lagoon Retreat were wonderful. Anna handled changes for us down to the last minute and we were lucky enough to be accompanied by Robert, our guide and now our friend who enhanced our experience beyond our expectations. To top it all off we had a week of Northern Lights that started out quite good and got better as the week went on.

These guys are THE BEST, and really know what they're doing!
I have no words. Other than: ASTOUNDING. Astounding Iceland of course, but for a once-in-a-lifetime trip we couldn't have done better than book all tours with Hidden Iceland. They were impeccable throughout, organising an ad hoc itinerary for us - with some complex needs and multiple departures etc - and everything was super-smooth. It was so great to enjoy the wonder that is Iceland without worrying about anything organisational. The hotels they chose for us were superb, the tours were top-notch, and everything was the best quality possible for this special trip. All tours were great, and all guides fantastic, but I want to single out Ingimundur, as we spent 3 full days with him. He was great, a fountain of knowledge on everything Iceland, he took us to yummy lunch places, and he also doubled as personal photographer! (and what a great photographer he is, btw!) I really really cannot recommend Hidden Iceland enough. If you go to Iceland (and you should), book with them and worry about nothing else! Thank you guys for an unforgettable trip!

Great customer service from the start to the end. The tour itself - went with Ingimundur, an icelandic guide who was so knowledgeable, shared great stories and all possible tiny details about Iceland and the culture. He even had a playlist of icelandic songs and artists. Great tour!

Memorable 3 day trip from Reykjavik
We were a group of 12 family members and friends who wanted to explore the south coast highlights of Iceland before boarding a cruise to Southampton. I Read some great reviews about Hidden Iceland. Aaron replied my email promptly. He listened to what our needs were. He was able to accommodate us and make slight changes to the itinerary and hotel stays to make it practical for us. We did the Golden Circle tour with the farmhouse tour on day 1 and the above mentioned tour on day 2 and 3. The zodiac boat tour that he recommended was the highlight of our tour. Aaron is patient , courteous and professional and our trip wouldn’t have been so memorable without his advice. Thank you Aaron. And I must say that if Aaron was not available, his team members promptly replied to the emails and answered our questions- so thank you to the full team. We stayed at Reykjavik residence apartment hotel and it was a perfect family style accomodation for us. The vehicle that came to pickup was roomy , clean, modern with charging points, and that made our long drives really comfortable. Our tour guide/driver was Prokop. He was very knowledgeable, courteous, and professional. We stayed at hotel VOS and Lilja guesthouse and both were comfortable. The weather turned out to be perfect and we got lucky enough to see the northern lights also. The 3 day tour that we did with them was the highlight of our 16 day trip and the most memorable nature experiences of our lives. Thank you to the Hodden Iceland team For making it possible for us.

          Great but overpriced
Einar was great! We just felt like it wasn’t really worth the $220 USD per person price tag, hence the four stars. Overall we had a great experience and Einar was a great guide - we just take issue with the pricing.

The best way to see all the special places of Iceland.
I would highly recommend Hidden Iceland if you want a fantastic private 8 day trip driving right around Iceland. It started with the most amazing itinerary worked out by Anna Maria especially for me and my grandson to see Iceland. I found Hidden Iceland to be a very professional, caring, organised and informative company to travel with. Our guide Bjorn Grimsson was outstanding and had a fantastic knowledge about Iceland. Bjorn drove us in a very safe and comfortable vehicle, the hotels were terrific and we enjoyed every meal. We came home to Australia with our camera cards full of fabulous photographs of a magnificent country and our heads full of such special memories.

Lovely waterfalls and beach. Weather was awful, rainy and windy but luckily our guide rearranged the stops so when we did the glacier hike later it had stopped raining. It was wonderful, just being there and experiencing the raw nature of it all. Thanks to Edith (can’t pronounce her Icelandic name) for helping me up. She was very knowledgeable and cheerful even though weather not great. Guess Icelanders are used to it! Only negative was cafe on beach extremely crowded and barely had time for loo stop and sandwich.Would recommend this company for South Coast trip and smaller group particularly.

Hi Wendy, Thank you again for another review. Taking the time to do multiple reviews is really appreciated. Doing your second day with Auður (Edith) must have have added so much. And the glacier hike with such an experienced glacier guide like Auður really helps with first timers. We understand the short timing at the lunch stops is not ideal. It’s sadly a necessity to reduce lunch times to squeeze in all our activities during this challenging time of the year (4 hours of sunshine). It’s also a challenge if other companies are trying to attempt the same thing that day which can make the cafe a little busy. It’s good feedback though and something we work hard to improve on while fighting the darkness on both sides of the low sun. We’re so happy you enjoyed yourself despite the horrendous weather. It certainly does take some time to get used to. Thank you again for the reviews and valuable feedback.

Such a great experience hiking on the glacier! It's a bit strenuous but as long as you are comfortable doing some moderate hiking you'll be fine. Really striking to hear from the guide how much the glaciers have melted just in his past couple years giving tours. He also recommended the Netflix documentary Chasing Ice, which featured the glacier that you hike on, so would recommend watching that as well. We watched it on our flight home and seeing the time lapse videos was really impactful.

LAVA was the first stop and was a nice little educational and interactive spot I otherwise wouldn't have known about. Spent just the right amount of time there as well.

The waterfalls were wonderful, and our guide stopped on the way back so that we had multiple really beautiful rainbows comes across through all of the waterfall spray.

The black sand beach was amazing, though sadly we had missed the puffins by a few weeks (we went early September).

I would highly recommend the tour! Great way to see a lot of Iceland in a day with a small group.

Hi Emily again! Wonderful that you’re reviewing our South Coast: Fire and ice tour too. Thank you. We recommend people expand their knowledge as much as they can when in Iceland. It really adds such an extra element when exploring. The LAVA centre coupled with the guides own knowledge manages to do just that. Watching a few documentaries afterwards is even better. Thanks again

We were looking forward to this tour to walk on the glacier and black beach. The weather when we left didnt seem that bad and we were told that we wouldn't be walking on the glacier, as we came closer it became apparent why, the wind was so strong.
So this aside, our guide was very chatty and informative taking time to answer questions and telling us about the history of places we travelled through.
Overall i would recommend the tour, just pay attention to the weather as wind/snow will reduce what you see.

We did contact the company and ask if they were running another tour later in the week as the weather was improving, we told them we enjoyed our previous one but would love to walk on the glacier and would book again, we were kindly offered a spot on fridays tour but had to decline as we were due to fly out.

We really appreciate your patience and understanding on these more difficult days. Glad to hear you enjoyed the rest of the day and the Hidden Iceland guide. It’s a shame you could join us for a second tour to get onto the ice with us. Please do come back one day and try again. Thank you again for your review and understanding

This was the best trip of our holiday. Joe was our guide and from the outset when he introduced himself and shook our hands he was brilliant. His knowledge and understanding of the landscape and how it was formed he relayed in such an interesting way. He also had planned the tour in order to best avoid the crowds and even fit in a stop to meet some Icelandic horses up close and personal. We did the Lava centre which was great and a must do, the blank sand beach to see the basalt rock formations, two spectacular waterfalls and walked the glacier. Joe made us all feel incredibly safe and is clearly highly experienced in his trade. What’s so great is to see how he loves and respects what he does. We had a great day, thank you!

A full day or natural wonders. I can't believe how much our tour guide Ingi was able to cram in. I absolutely loved the Lava exhibition it was so informative and the displays were all hands on. It helped that the weather was perfect for the Glacier trek, a nice powder on the ground and Ingi did a brilliant job of making us all feel very safe. The day finished off visiting not one, but two stunning waterfalls both complete with rainbows. An incredible trip to remember and having Ingi as our guide was like having a teacher and adventurer rolled into one. Don't leave Iceland without doing this tour

We had an amazing day trip to the south coast with our guide Ryan who is also one of the owners. It was our lucky day as we were the only couple on the trip so essentially got a private tour. Ryan rearranged the order of the sights bit based on weather conditions. He did a perfect job as it seemed to rain only we were driving and stopped raining at each site. The lava center was closed, although that gave us more time on the glacier hike which was the highlight of the trip. It was our first glacier hike, but we felt extremely comfortable and safe with our guide, who was extremely knowledgeable and clearly passionate about his work. We learned a lot during our discussions throughout the day and had a great time. Easily the best the trip I have ever taken. Highly recommend Hidden Iceland. They will be my go to tour guide in our future visits to Iceland.

Hi Boris, Ryan here responding directly :) I just wanted to say thank you directly as it was such a pleasure taking you both around the south coast that day. It barely felt like work in the end. To hear it was the best trip ever really means a lot. I hope you had fun at the volcano on the last day too. Thanks again!

We had an amazing experience on the South Coast 1 day tour with Alberto and can't recommend Hidden Iceland enough! The service from start to finish was excellent with great communication throughout. Alberto was knowledgeable and enthusiastic about everything we saw and brought the trip to life - he obviously loves Iceland and his job and it was a pleasure to spend the day with him. Highly recommend booking with Hidden Iceland, even if you do usually 'do' organised tours as the small group size and personal touch really made the experience one to remember.

This is so great to read. Thank you for the kind words. Alberto is such a wonderful guide and really makes everyone feel like friends and family by the end of the day. Doing organised tours certainly has that negative mantra but I'm glad you agree that we are providing something a little different here. See you again soon!

I found this 10 star company after a lot of research and was not disappointed. I was in Iceland last summer for my 40th birthday with three friends and what a treat this was. We were picked up by Ryan and had an amazing adventure from start to finish. Very comfortable ride and I must say what a great group of people we were with. Ryan was strategic about hitting up our different stops to avoid the crowds as much as possible and really knows what he is doing! I could go on and on about this day - the friends we made, the memories we shared and the one of a kind experience Ryan created. Look no further and book them immediately!

Great tour! This tour gives you a great overview of South Iceland. You will not have much time in each location but you will get to see several different highlights of South Iceland. The waterfalls are amazing and the black sand beach is stunning. I was worried that the lava show would be geared towards kids but it was informative and interesting for all ages. I highly recommend it.

There is a restaurant at the lava show with soups and sandwiches and hot drinks. I am vegan and there was a delicious vegan soup. You will have plenty of time to eat after the show.

Be prepared for a long ride in a tightly seated mini bus but it was worth it for us to not deal with driving or renting a car.

Overall, I would highly recommend this tour.

Thank you for the great review, Jennifer. Glad to hear you liked the Lava Show too! It's hard to know how amazing the experience is until you physically go there. Happy to hear that you liked the pace of the tour and loved the lunch stop option too.
