About
The Golden Circle is one of Iceland’s most popular tourist circuits, with opportunities to see where continental plates converge, a 2-tiered canyon waterfall, and the Geysir after which all other geysers are named. Visit the Golden Circle with a guide who knows the best ways to get around while keeping you free to focus on the scenery. Afterward, spend the evening hunting for the northern lights.

Highlights
  • See two of Iceland’s greatest attractions: Golden Circle and northern lights
  • Enjoy a day planned to see as many attractions as possible
  • Focus on the scenery: Your guide and driver take care of navigation
  • Hotel pickup and drop-off are included
What to expect
  • Your morning begins with a pickup from your hotel or one of the city pickup bus zones. Hop aboard the minivan and head toward Hveragero, often called the “flower village” because of the many greenhouses there. Learn about the town’s interesting energy usage and make a quick stop at the local bakery (own expense). Next is Gullfoss waterfall, which you see from above and up close. Then, make the trip to the Geysir geothermal area, where you explore on your own and have lunch (own expense). Next, spend some time at Thingvellir National Park. Learn about the founding of Iceland’s Parliament, and see the geological rifts caused by the separation of tectonic plates. Rest in Reykjavik in the afternoon and head out for a northern lights tour in the evening. Your guide drives you out of the city to find the best spots to see the lights. Afterward, head back to the capital and finish with a drop-off at your hotel.

This company really strives to give ytou personalized service and great tours. They really know what they are doing! Big companies cannot provide the family type atmosphere with their tours so go with IG tours! You can't go worng!

Best tour ever
Dec 2019 • Family
I booked few tour while in iceland and I found Saga Travel is the best. Why I say this because the driver@ tour guide , Thor is his name, is very good in making all of us in his bus enjoy with his jokes n explanation about the place.

Delightfully Friendly Guide
Oct 2019
My wife and I booked the northern lights tour and the golden circle tour with Igtours. We were fortunately enough that 2 other couples had the exact same itinerary as us, and we ended up in a small group of 6 of us led by Ian.

The tours were simply a blast. Even though we didn’t manage to catch any northern lights, we still had a great time with Ian who told us delightful nuggets of information and even trivia about Iceland, all while searching for the northern lights for us. He even went the extra mile (both literally and figuratively) and prepared hot chocolate for us to keep us warm in the cold, chilly nights in Iceland.

The next day was equally as delightful, if not more. Ian was a wealth of knowledge about Iceland, and given his background as a teacher, he had no issues imparting his knowledge to us through his tantalizing tales and seductive story-telling. Ian even showed us a glimpse of his favourite parts of Iceland that were off the beaten path, such as the John Lennon tribute light and the farm-to-table ice-cream shop.

I’ve travelled with Igtours in Iceland 7 years ago, and despite the boom in the tourism industry in Iceland, it’s clear that they very much remain an organization that delights and cares about sharing the sights and sounds of Iceland with its visitors. Kudos to them for that, and I would highly recommend Igtours to anyone reading this right now.

Golden circle is a must-do!
This tour stops off at the earthquake centre, Faxi waterfall, Geysir, Gullfoss waterfall and Thingvellir. Each stop was breathtaking, and our tour guide Ragnar was the perfect mix of informative, knowledgeable and humorous. I hope if you’re reading this you’re lucky enough to get him as your guide. Added bonus was that our family were the only people booked on for the day so we effectively had a private tour! We then went to the northern lights in the evening, and caught a glimpse although it was quite weak. Still completely worth it though overall!

Really worth the money, 3 things to see during the day plus the Aurora Borealis if the conditions are right. Went with Icelandicair tours. The guise Sigi Grimmsonn was excellent with a Viking sense of humour.

A unique experience!
Nov 2019 • Couples
We had the most amazing experience! Ian our tour guide was The Best! We chose the package Golden circle & Northen lights. The golden circle was an amazing experience. The fantastic waterfalls, the breathtaking landscapes, the unbelievable active Geysers with the hot springs-they were all out of this world. Ian was narrating interesting stories about Icelandic history, myths and his life in Iceland! He had an amazing humour and he was our guide in a place he really loves! We were also so incredibly lucky as we saw spectacular northern lights in a clear sky with shiny stars! We would definitely recommend Iceland Guided Tours and Ian for your guide as he loves Iceland so much!

A Fantastic Day
Nov 2019
Myself and a friend had pre-booked the golden circle and northern light tour prior to arriving in Iceland. We were picked up from outside our hotel at the time arranged. We were met by our guide for the day Ian, we were fortunate enough to be the only people on the tour that day. Ian was a fantastic guide, very friendly and knowledgeable. We were not rushed and were able to enjoy the day the way we wished. The minibus was comfortable. The itinerary was above and beyond our expectations. We had plenty of time at each location. The day was fantastic and exceeded our expectations!!!!. The northern lights were cancelled the first night due to weather conditions, however were booked onto the next nights tour. The following night again was on a comfortable mini bus, a small group of 7 on the tour. A brilliant night, hot chocolate and cinnamon buns were a lovely touch to the night. We did see the northern light however not as bright as they could be due to factors outside of the tours control (weather), however really happy having seen them. I would 100% recommend Iceland Guided Tours and their trips to anyone visiting Iceland. They made our holiday!

Lovely guide
We did a tour with Ian today. We had a lovely time! It felt more like a private tour as it was only a small group of us and we didn't feel rushed to see the sights. Didn't see much of Northern lights last night but Ian still made it a fun and engaging trip. Thanks!
