About the operator
- 2010KEITHc00Truly Amazing ........An amazing trip and an amazing night. The tour guide headed to a different area from all the other tours, who mainly headed to Reykjanes. The Northern Lights were already visible from when we arrived at our destination and just got stronger and stronger over a period of 2 hours. It was a fantastic display to witness and we were so lucky to be in the right place at the right time.
- Annt6930xw00Awesome intro to Iceland!Alain was informative and entertaining. We learned so much Iceland history and every site in the tour. Every stop was a highlight! We couldn’t ask for a better-planned trip!
- LauraJ777700Lagoon full day tourAwesome tour guide! I enjoyed everything about the tour. The bus is very comfortable. 10 out 10 no complaints.
- 129viviannad00Stunningly beautifulThis tour was the first of four already booked by my travel agent, before flying to Iceland. The tour guide was Bergsteinn (Beggi). I highly recommend for future travelers to book this tour as their first one too because one can see some many beautiful landscapes, waterfalls, mountains, towns, a glacier, and icebergs. I was amazed during all the tour by so much beauty. Also, I enjoyed every minute that the tour guide spent talking because he is so knowledgeable, patriotic, proud of his culture, and in love of the nature. His experience acquired by doing international traveling has left a print in him as to all the travelers that I met in Iceland. Being in contact with the nature and cultural diversity make the person more sensible and the tour guide Beggi is like that.
- FandB198500A GREAT DAY TOURWe took the Golden Circle Day Tour with Kerid Volcanic Crater from Reykjavik on September 7, provided by Bus Travel Iceland. Our guide and driver were terrific (sorry we can't remember their names) and the sights were amazing. We would highly recommend this excursion.
- Lindsey K00Excellent tour!We had a blast on this tour! We loved each of the sights we went to. Our guide was excellent. He told us interesting facts and stories during the drive and gave us plenty of time to explore each of the sights. We would highly recommend this tour!
- Trip6345664340400A guide is the way to go in Iceland! We had an amazing day. The sites are incredible but would not be nearly as good without the folklore, stories and history we learned along the way. Thank you Dave, you are an awesome guide 🙏
- rogereA9218HB00Very good tour, great stops informative tour guide. Luxurious bus, enough time at each stop, well worth the money, nice. The views were amazing, with detailed description from the tour guide, we were excited to see what was around the next curve. The waterfall, the geyser, the lava field, and even pointing out the glacier from our route. We felt like this tour gave us a glimpse of Iceland!!! Thank you to the team for a safe and enjoyable day. Highly recommend!!
- FDF-Skanderborg00Above and beyondWe were a group of scouts (FDF) from Denmark and booked 2 tours. Our guide was really good and interesting. He interacted with our young people and gave a good insight into the geology of Iceland. Supported by several personal stories and myths of Iceland
- Polina P00Highly recommend! We went on the south coast tour with Beggi and Arthur and had a wonderful time - they were friendly, taught us a lot about Iceland and its history, and took us to some truly beautiful spots (even a few extras outside of our itinerary). We even caught the aurora at night on our way home! Would highly recommend this tour to see some epic sights.
- kaiotan36900Great bus guideThe tour of visit the south coast was ameizing for me. The bus guide mr Danis is a great guide, his english is easy to understand, and also he was good to explain about iceland🇮🇸. Also the jokes ( ´∀`)b I highly recommend to use bustravel.is Thenk you for an amazing experience.
- rond62800Wonderful day trip and guideI did the golden circle tour last year but with the snowmobiling missed out on the tomato farm, horse show and visit to crater. Our full day included the kerid crater and Fredheimar Tomato Farm as well as Gullfoss waterfall, the geysers and Thingvellir national park. Our guide Tom even gave us a couple of unexpected stops which I’ve added pics. Tom was very informative and had a great sense of humor.
- Konstantinos M00Life experiencesWonderful experience,a lot of photos and memories .The tour was perfectly organized.Devon is one of a kind as a tour guide😊.
- TravelingClassy00Fantastic but other tourists made the vibe difficult. We loved Glaicer Lagoon and seeing the beautiful waterfalls along the way. Unfortunately this trip didn’t go to plan as well as we had hoped but it wasn’t due to the operator but the people we was with. The French group of tourists couldn’t figure out how to use a clock and although the guide had mentioned on a number of occasions that we needed to leave diamond beach for our booked tour the French simply couldn’t figure that out. They was left behind by the coach which had waited. When we got to the ticketing area the rest of their group caught up and shouted at the guide who apologised to them. (Frankly I don’t think he should have as they was the ones who were being self centred. They didn’t care if we got on the boat or not and didn’t understand the concept of a time slot. They seemed to speak very good English but claimed they couldn’t understand the time. Therefore I need to make it SUPER CLEAR. This tour is in ENGLISH ONLY. We also had other tourists who couldn’t follow basic simple orders on the boat. They had been asked to sit down while the boat truck was moving but they couldn’t understand. (Once again I suspect they booked the tour without understanding the English language) it was only when I raised my voice they sat down. Other women tried to get them to sit down but they seemed to ignore them. The French tourists were absolutely rude to the guide and they claimed they was going to complain about him. I hope this sets the record straight from our perspective. Unfortunately they came across so self entitled we couldn’t believe it. Infuriating! When we did experience the tour I was often asked by social media influencers to be a camera man when I wanted to just get on with my own photography. Now that’s out of the way let’s get onto the overall experience. The weather was mixed (this is Iceland after all!) that meant that one of the experiences did get cut from our itinerary. The experience in question included an area with unpredictable waves and with wind in the area I can see why it was cut from our itinerary. We got to experience water falls, glaciers, good food and overall the hikes were not too crazy. We didn’t go behind the waterfall as by the time we got to it at 20:00 the waterfall had spotlights on it but the behind track did not. Anyway onto the tour operator, we was on a lovely coach. Not many people, plenty of leg space. Some advice, if you are planning to do this trip you must be prepared. Please don’t show up with just a skirt and high heels like one of our fellow tourists. Don’t test this like a social media show. It’s nature, it’s real and it doesn’t care how many likes you have. Our guide was fantastic, kept the trip going and he made every effort to keep us in the loop. The only element of criticism I would offer would be we had very short windows for diamond beach. We got 30 minutes on the beach which wasn’t that long. I think the boat tour should have been first then the beach without the stress of people missing the boat. That’s my only suggestion. Overall we had fun, we enjoyed ourselves and we experienced something very special. Thanks for making our trip to Iceland extra special!
- Q6624QOkarlaa00Best guide ever!It was amazing, the places themselves were absolutely stunning, but what really made the trip great were Jóna and Tomek. They’re an excellent team, you can see that right away in how good they get along and work together. They both kept us in schedule and we all did so good that we got to see a few extra sights on the way back which was such a great treat! Also, Jóna was great in sharing interesting info about the places we were seeing, they history… and always in a fun and engaging way, keeping it relaxed and never talking too much. She was the perfect guide!

We are so happy with the tour! Our guide and driver Atli did an amazing job, and even though the weather was harsh (snow blizzard) we never felt unsafe. The sites are beautiful and really really cool, and Atli is friendly, funny and has a great knowledge about the history, culture, economy, food and landscape of Iceland. I really recommend the tour, it was very affordable and fun, and a perfect all day trip (it took about 10 hours). Dress warmly if visiting during winter, it was cold as heck :D

This tour is great , takes in all the things you need to see and with plenty of time at all the stops. Pick up was painless and on time in a small mini bus , then transferred to a slightly larger bus - 20 seats or so , Hilda , the driver / guide was brilliant , very informative and seems like she enjoys her job . The highlight for me was the Gullfoss water fall , it’s incredible . The secret lagoon is really nice , you can rent a towel if you don’t have one . It didn’t seem like we were in the bus all day because it’s so well planned , maximum drive between stops is around 45 mins and the scenery is stunning . We booked the tour via trip advisor because we had used them before on previous holidays and they always use really good tour operators. All in all a fantastic day out

Very unprofessional tour guide named Simon, not giving the day itinerary to the group, not carrying how everyone is, getting off the bus first and walking away with a small group of followers before the rest had a chance to even get off, not mentioning the elderly ones left far behind (SHOCKING attitude!)
He was mostly focused on himself and talking to the driver in Icelandic when we tried to ask itinerary questions (what's next, how much time on the bus etc).
Simon was visibly kind to the the US customers (had asked at the start of the tour who is from which country) expecting tips afterwards. He actually even said "Hi guys, I often get asked if tips are mandatory in Iceland, they aren't but if you give us any I will share them with the driver". The tour could have been nice if there were a different tour guide. Very disappointing and pleasant experience (not just mine, I spoke to another European tourist from Germany a day after and she had the same bad impressions).
I would certainly recommend a different tour operator.
Also the tour time was changed and information was sent a day before by an EMAIL (not a text message nor a phone call!!!)

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review, and we are very sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your tour. We understand that not everyone on the tour is in the same condition, but as it says on our website, this tour requires moderate hiking and given the tight schedule and ever-changing valley of the volcano, we are trying to get the passengers to the best viewing position. We understand that this could have been viewed as hurrying. It was never our intention to leave someone behind, our customers are, however, welcome to do the hike at their own pace if they can't keep up with the rest of the group.
We are sorry to hear that you had the impression that the guide was intentionally asking questions. We, at BusTravel, have not only created a very international environment within our staff but strongly stand for equality, openness, and respect in the treatment of our passengers. Símon is one of our most knowledgeable and experienced guides, and he has confirmed to me that by introducing such a question he only meant to start a conversation and to know passengers a little better.
Thank you for bringing the problem with pick-up time change to our attention, however, due to the post-covid restart of the service, sometimes we need to change the time of the tour, and if the email about this is not responded we always try to reach the customer by all means provided by the customer.

Booked to go on The Golden Circle/Secret Lagoon tour with this company, having brought our 85 year old Aunty as a Christmas/birthday present.
First trip was understandably cancelled due to the weather conditions on the day, rescheduled for the day after.
Received an email 10 minutes AFTER the scheduled pick up time to cancel due to "high winds"........strangely, the other tour operators were still running their tours, including the same itinerary as we'd booked with this appalling company.
My wife and I are not only disappointed, especially for our Aunt, but also totally unimpressed with this company.
Really would not recommend whatsoever!

Hey there,
Thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately the weather conditions on your travel date were a lot worse then predicted and the authorities decided to keep the roads closed for safety reasons. We offered you to join the tour on a different date or to receive a full refund.
We are extremely sorry we could not push through the tour as planned, but safety is of course first.
We hope you still enjoyed your time in Iceland!

It was a well- spent day! If you don’t have much time or if it’s winter time then I’d recommend to do this trip... however, if it’s summer time then better rent a car and do it on our own as you will be more flexible time-wise at every stop. The secret lagoon was very nice and warm although we thought it will be much bigger. Overall, the trip organisation and guide were good!!

We had a simply amazing time on all our Bus travel Iceland tours. We booked onto four (volcano and geothermal hike, south Iceland day trip, golden circle, and northern lights - all of them really surpassed our expectations. The scenery was unforgettable but what really made it fantastic was the guide Monika and the Driver Tomek. We felt in very safe hands and we learnt so much about Iceland and the surrounding area. Monika in particular went above and beyond with the detailed information she told us about Iceland in general and all of the sites we visited. I thoroughly recommend this tour and would recommend using Bus Travel Iceland for multiple trips. We went on several and was loved all of them.

What an amazing day we had on this tour we loved it
Howser our guide and driver is a great guy and very passionate about his country and its beauty.
The depth of his overall knowledge of Iceland and all its history is phenomenal but Howser delivers the information with such passion he is funny and very entertaining so its never boring.
" Did you know Viking hats did not have horns"
There was a really good balance between activity and travel time. The bus was modern, comfortable and clean
The secret lagoon visit was a real treat and we had it practically to ourselves as there was only 9 of us on the bus
There was 3 of us travelling together and we all loved this trip so highly recommended
Book this trip you will not be disappointed

I recommend this tour in particular because it includes the Secret Lagoon, which was a fantastic and worthwhile experience unto itself as one of Iceland's oldest pools, albeit smaller and more quaint than the Blue or Sky Lagoons.
Our guide and bus driver Josef struck the perfect balance of being informative about what we were seeing/about to see, injecting a wry sense of humor, and also just playing music while we all gawked at the stunning Icelandic landscape. We received an adequate amount of time at each destination and ate lunch at the Geysir food court which offered a variety of meal options -- although I would recommend bringing a couple snacks as you may not eat lunch until closer to 1:30.

The guide Chiara was super friendly and very courteous. The trip was fantastic, although next time we would select the trip to Blue Lagoon where most people from the Princess Cruise ship went. On the way back to the cruise terminal, my wife left her NorthFace down jacket on the overhead storage compartment. She did not realize it until the next day when our cruise ship was well on its way to Scotland. This jacket has great sentimental value to my wife, because it was a gift from our son using his first paycheck right after school, so my wife could stay warm while visiting Iceland. When I contacted BusTour Iceland, they said they found the jacket and offer to send it back. We just had to cover postage. After a couple of emails back and forth, the jacket is now on its way back to us in California. We are deeply gratified for their help. Andrius at customer service even turned down our offer to pay a small fee for their troubles and the run around. BusTour Iceland demonstrates an example of the typical friendliness of the people in Iceland during our multi port visits. I will be back - to the Blue Lagoon - on their bus tour. Visiting Iceland should be on everyone’s bucket list.

This is a great trip if your time is short and you want to hit all the hot spots. Stopped at the crater, then headed to the Secret lagoon where we had 90 minutes to relax and enjoy the geothermal spa (I want this back home!). Our guide, Glumur, was so knowledgeable and funny, he made the trip feel very welcoming. We also didn't have the best weather but our driver Linus made sure we got everywhere safely. The views of the falls and fissures were breathtaking. Dress warmly and you'll have a wonderful time!

Are there different circle line tours? Do they start at city center or pick up from hotels? Do they provide meals? Are these the best locations to hit for someone who wants to do just one or two bus tours? Are private tours available? Any tips for first time visitors?

Hi, there are different ones with different companies. This one was amazing though. They pick up from different designated pick up spots around Reykjavik - including some of the main hotels. I would say this covers lots of the main stops but would also recommend seeing the blue lagoon, the sky lagoon and the volcano

Are you able to pick up a party of 4 at the cruise port. Taking a cruise next spring with an overnight stay in Reykjavik. This would be a party of 4. Thank you. Irene Miller

What is the schedule for this tour, eg departure and finish time?
What order are stops made and how long do you get at each stop, we’re looking at coming over the next couple of weeks so it will be winter and only light for a short time.

We were picked up at 8:30am on a large coach. 5 minutes later we stopped off to transfer onto a mini bus as there were less people doing this particular tour (better in my opinion!). The tour guide then spent 10 or so minutes introducing herself and explaining the day ahead. We then set off for around 40 minutes and stopped off for a toilet break and breakfast. Then we went to our first attraction, the crater, we stayed there for around 20 minutes which was enough time. After that we went to the secret lagoon which brought us up to midday. Then we went to the geysers and had time to get ourselves some lunch from the restaurant/canteen depending on how much you want to spend. After that we went to the Gullfoss waterfall which brought us to about 2pm. Then finally we went to the national park where we could walk through and meet the guide at the other end. By the time we had finished at the park it was roughly 4pm. It then took around 40 minutes to get back to Reykjavík. Was a lovely day in my opinion.
hi ! I would like to take this tour in December but , I am wandering if this tour would be in the dark since I know the on December the day are shorter. Thanks!

I was there in November. The sun was rising at 10, and setting at 4:30, and the days get only shorter in December. I’d say wait until spring

We arrived in the early afternoon and didn’t leave until after eight. We had an issue with our tour company Fleetway. They are horrible by the way. So we asked a driver of one the Gray Line buses to drop us off near our hotel. He did better and brought us to the front door. (Icelanders are beyond friendly)
It also depends on your scheduled time, as you have to have an appointment to get into Blue Lagoon.
