- michellerZ5772AM0 contributionsFantastic 2 day south coast tripThis highly recommended trip with an overnight stay in Arctic Adventures hotel, was fantastic. Ronan, our guide was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The hotel was comfortable and the food was very good (especially the lamb). We stopped at a number of waterfalls (Seljalandsfoss Waterfall, Skogafoss Waterfall and 2 smaller but beautiful falls with fewer visitors), the lava field and the black sand beach. The highlight was the visit to the Crystal Ice Cave and Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon with nearby diamond beach, which was stunning! We were treated to such incredible scenery and learnt loads.Written 31 October 2024
- GeorgeE3320 contributionsMust doAbsolutely spectacular trip. The visibility is incredible and definitely a once in a lifetime experience. Yes yo get cold but not as cold in the water as getting changed afterwards. Staff v helpful but you must concentrate on instructions. You do need to be reasonably fit and agile as there are times you are swimming hard and getting all the gear on and off is hard work !!Written 31 October 2024
- 298amberg0 contributionsTerrible experience, do not book with this companyTerrible experience. Waited over 2 hours to enter the water, fully suited up in all the heavy, cold and wet clothing, and stood in a long queue. Clothing was tight and uncomfortable to wear for that length of time. Clothing is extremely tight around the neck to stop water from getting in, but I did not expect to stand for over 2 hours in it. I would not recommend using this company. A complaint was made via email, but remained unresponded, and eventually, a response was received, but no consideration was given to the wait time, I was told it was completed within the time frame stated on their website. Be prepared for a very long wait in unpleasant conditions, try using another company.Written 31 October 2024
- shivang20210 contributionsNothern Light Scam?My wife Sarah booked the Nothern Lights Tour with photos, for us on Oct 30th 2024. The tour guide picked us up at the hotel and took the group to a location in the Highlands to see the try to see lights. However due to conditions beyond his control the lights didn't not show on this day. He advised us to rebook (free booking rebooking was included in our package), we then called the following morning. The Customer service representative (Victoria) , informed us by email that the lights were seen and we cannot re-book, we will need to pay for a new tour. The package we booked includes free rebooking until the lights are seen, No photos where taken because no lights where seen on this day. If the lights where seen, Please Provide our photos. We did not travel all this way and spend our money to be scammed. I must say the tour guide was very polite and informative, However the administration is apparently trained differently and out to capaitalise on profits and do not hold up there policy, apparently they do not care about customer experience or repeat business.Written 31 October 2024
- sfearll0 contributionsTour was "just right" for our short stay. With only a short stay-over in Reykjavik, we utilized these tour services to see some more of the countryside. The bus was small and comfortable, the driver/guide was friendly and accommodating. Thingvellir, Geysir and Gullfoss were on the itinerary, but he added a few stops to make the afternoon more interesting. Mostly, it made me want to return to Iceland so I can spend more time at Thingvellir! Overall, this was "just right" for our short stay.Written 30 October 2024
- Lan H0 contributionsBest northern lights!I had my doubts. It was rainy all day. We drove out of Reykjavik, first to the South. Not much. Our guide, Freeman (sorry for spelling), communicated with other guides, checked the forecast, looked at the skies, and we hunted for clear skies. Our first stop was not the best conditions, but Freeman kept us in the hunt. It was like being on a safari. Finally we found a patch of clear skies. The lights were fantastic. Freeman stood out in the cold and told us when the light conditions were best. He also served us hot chocolate and took pictures of us. He drove in wind and rain to get us the best viewings. And the viewings were fabulous. We had already seen the lights but the night we went the lights got brighter and started to dance. It was the best viewing we had on our entire 10 day trip. The jeep was huge and comfortable and helped shield us from the wind.Written 30 October 2024
- wendykT1691WJ0 contributionsWonderful!Just got back and it was everything I hoped it would be and more! Our guide Siggi was the absolute best. - bren_daria0 contributionsDiscovering IcelandGreat experience, wonderful views and an extraordinary guide (thanks Pauly) many interesting histories. I think this tour is excellent to have a complete views of Iceland history and Nature places.Written 25 October 2024
- Gustavo Cesar L0 contributionsBad choice!1. It's not a Super Jeep, but a regular van with big tires (ridiculous). 2. The guide was ok. 3. We were denied a second chance to see the Northern Lights, since they appeared very faintly on our tour. Note that the package sale says you can go on other occasions (on a regular bus) if you can't see the lights well on the first tour. 4. The “professional” photos offered in the package were horrible. Honestly, the ones from my iPhone 15 Pro were better. Congratulations to Arctic Adventures for not keeping their promise!Written 25 October 2024
- Elizabeth S0 contributionsReal tour that will leave you wanting to visit againExpert tour guide. My family fully enjoyed this excursion. Outdoor fun was what we were looking for. This trip is great for teens and adults. The waterfalls we stunning. The tour was enlightening and the geysers were a bit of a thrill. The only downfall is we didn't get to stay longer.Written 25 October 2024
- jackcV4107MF0 contributionsAmazing tour with Rebecca !!!I had the joy and privilege of booking a day tour around Golden Circle with an amazing tour guide, Rebecca. I had an amazing time discovering wonderful parts of this amazing place. Getting to spend time in Kerið crater, Gullfoss among many other unique places was breathtaking. The experience was greatly embellished by the tour guide, Rebecca. During the entirety of the trip she would point out small intricate and fascinating details, tell the tales of the local folklore, make appropriate and funny jokes to keep the mood of everyone on the trip cheerful. She was also very thoughtful of the needs of everyone, making sure everyone had the time they needed to visit what they wanted and enjoy every part of their trip. I can go on and on about how well my experience went on this day trip with Rebecca, but words can hardly describe how much fun I had that day. Having worked in tourism this was just an unforgettable experience not only, of course, because of the location but also because of the tour guide that really made the experience and day as good as it could have gotten !!! I am truly happy that Rebecca was my tour guide that day and would absolutely book many more tours with her next time I visit Iceland. It was one of the best experiences of my life. Best wishes, JackWritten 25 October 2024
- Alejandro L0 contributionsSwimming between tectonic platesGreat experience. Views are stunning. Staff is really nice and helpful and explain things clearly. Activity takes around 20-30 min the rest is the time you take to get ready and they help you with the equipment.Written 25 October 2024
- morachill0 contributionsUse this company and save stress! The whole experience with Arctic Adventures made our first trip to Iceland an incredible experience! First of all, our guide Gunnar should be retained by the company at all costs! He was all things: tour guide, chauffeur (even when winds were high), knowledgeable (regarding not only where to go, but when, so as to miss peak crowds), and he felt like an old friend even though we just met. Your company takes all the stress out of traveling and sightseeing in a different country. We saw so much more and could sit back and relax knowing navigation, food, lodging, transportation, etc. was already taken care of. I couldn’t possibly do justice explaining the beauty and grandeur of the places we saw. I guess travelers to Iceland will just have to see it themselves. And if you’re going to see them, do yourself a favor and use this company. Hopefully, if you’re lucky, you’ll get to meet my new pal, Gunnar!Written 22 October 2024

We booked a total 3 tours with Arctic Adventures - Southcoast, Golden Circle, Caving and Flybus to the airport.
Booking online was a breeze and there was an option to pay in CAD, without incurring foreign transaction fee from the bank. Email confirmations were emailed right after booking.
Pickup was on time. Our tour guides, Alex, Zackery and Monika were all super duper fantastic. Despite the pouring rain, strong wind, and the cold temperatures on all of our tours, we had a great time seeing Iceland. It was well worth it considering the crazy road conditions our tour guides have to drive through.
Highly recommend Arctic Adventures for your tours. Ask for multiple booking discounts by emailing them. Two thumbs up!

Our south tour was absolutely wonderful. Our guide, H, was spectacular and being Icelandic he was able to tell us history about places we saw on the way and at all the destinations. The tour stops in Vik for lunch where you have multiple options to choose from. You also stop at a rest stop on the way for a snack and they have wonderful pancakes! I couldn’t recommend the tour enough.

We did 4 different day trip tours with this company (Silfra snorkel/Golden Circle; South Coast; Into the Volcano; Inside the Volcano).
Overall we were quite happy. Most of the guides were great.
My only complaint is the tour pick-up process. This company will sometimes have a different third-party vehicle pick you up. This was clear in their written instructions for other tours, but not for our South Coast tour. We were waiting for an Arctic Adventure van to pick us up, but it was not specifically communicated that a 'Your Day Tours' vehicle would pick us up. As it was a particularly busy pick up stop that morning, with multiple pick-ups taking place with lots of people waiting, we missed our ride. Had I not checked my e-mail while waiting at Bus Stop #1 (City Hall), I would never have known that we missed our ride. Because I e-mailed back saying we were still waiting, another van was able to pick us up.

We booked a private Tour for 6 People. Krzysztof was the best tour guide ever, very sympathetic and authentic, who gave us lots of information about all the areas we were driving through and shared his great passion about the island with us. We had beautiful wheater and were even abel to see rainbows at some points of the tour. We all loved the hole trip and it was an awesome day. Especially Krysztof was always passionated and full of energy. It was wonderful to hear and see so much about the island in just one day. I totally recommend the tour and it was worth the drive through the great nature of Iceland. Thank you very much from Adam, Franka, Oli, Claudia, Niklas and Trisha.

This was a beautiful trip from start to finish. Our guide Christopher was very knowledgeable and very entertaining. It is clear that he loves Iceland and is very happy to point out reasons for visitors to love Iceland as well. The waterfalls were amazing. The black sand beach was pretty and included basalt columns. The glacier was pretty and not as expected with volcanic ash deposits giving it striking contrast. The tour was well organized.

The excursion scenery itself is fantastic and great. We could not have asked for better sights.
However, my husband and I booked this Small-Group Day trip where they crammed 20 people into a tiny bus. They should have only allowed for 15-16 max so people could sit comfortably.
We were one of the last ones picked up so we got put at the back of the bus where the seats are raised and you cannot see out the windows properly. The guide advised that half the group would be dropped off to do the glacier walk(which we were not doing part of ours). If this was the case then a separate bus should have been dispatched for the 11 people.
To top it off our tour guide barely spoke the whole trip and when he did it was very low and almost completely inaudible. I knew this was not normal as the day before my husband and i took the Golden Circle trip with a separate tour company and they were very engaged and talkative that whole excursion.
By the end of the excursion my back was in so much pain from being squished.
I would recommend anyone to take in the sights of the south shore but dont be fooled by the offerings of Arctic Adventure and their "Small-Group" day trip.
I would never book with Arctic Adventures again when we return to Iceland.

I would recommend anyone to take in the sights of the south shore but dont be fooled by the offerings of Arctic Adventure and their "Small-Group" day trip.
I would never book with Arctic Adventures again when we return to Iceland.

Do you pick up and drop off around the area of Tryggvagata, Reykjavík, 101?

Is bringing our own box lunch required or are there food stops along the way?

There is a good food stop on this particular trip when you get to Vik (and we stopped at a petrol station for the toilets and snacks) but the food in Iceland is expensive. I’d recommend bringing a packed lunch and it’s quite a long day travelling anyway.
