Even though the weather was truly awful (ice-rain in your face and so windy you could barely walk forward) this tour was still an incredible experience. Loved Sigy's (sorry about the spelling!) stories along the way - a guide with a great sense of humour is a real find. And his playlist was fab too!

With the weather and the cold, slipping into the Secret Lagoon after the Golden Circle was not only delightful, it was essential. 10/10 would recommend.

Darren and Marek on the Golden circle and secret lagoon tour 17/2/20.
We were picked up on time at our hotel and taken to the Grayline depot (grayline.is ran the tour). We were met by Darren and Marek for our tour. From the first moment, we knew we were in for a great day. Both brilliant and a real credit to the company. We saw beautiful waterfalls, geysirs, rift valleys and the secret lagoon. Darren was really knowledgeable and answered everyones questions. He made it a fantastic and very fun day. Lots of companies do the golden circle tour but we felt very looked after. We took our little clip on snow tracks as some parts were icy. You do stop at places regularly for food and a toilet break but taking a few bites to eat from a supermarket will make the day a little cheaper. Bring a towel for the lagoons as they (& the hotels) charge rental. The water from the tap is mineral water so just bring a foldable bottle.

Our tour guide Ian was right on time for the morning pickup and a very safe driver. He was knowledgable about Iceland and its history, sharing info and stories while he drove via his microphone setup. The sites and viewpoints around the Golden Circle were absolutely stunning and we never felt rushed. Lunch was at Geysir and that restaurant can get busy, so order quickly.

This was my first tour booked with this company. Originally i had a transfer to the blue lagoon, that got canceled. My tour was 7/18, but my new adjusted ticket said 6/18. I emailed serval times, assuming it was a typo since it said active; I never received a response. I awaited my tour and got STOOD UP. When i called the office they said my tour guide was already out of the city, and they could rebook/refund (that takes up to 60 days). I had a very short trip planned and honestly this was a tour i had booked the whole trip around. I have no clue if the tours themselves are amazing, i’m sure it is with all the great reviews. I, myself, will never book a tour through them again.

I confirmed 3 times that my day trips were refundable and all 3 times, they responded 'Yes, 100% if more than 24 hours before the start of the tour.' Well I cancelled several days beforehand and received an email saying they will not give any refunds because the government granted them some kind of COVID hardship. I CANNOT believe their website still says that trips are refundable! What an extremely unethical company!!!

We were picked up at 9:30 and had some minor hiccups with the seating in the minivan which were quickly fixed, we saw lots of amazing things and had a great time overall. I would say we’d have preferred to hear more facts about the sights we were seeing, and the audio wasn’t brilliant so we didn’t hear some basic instructions about when and where to meet back at the van. Helga was lovely and very helpful and we had a great experience overall.

Let's be honest right at the outset: this was the third day in a row of walking/tours and I was tired and a bit grumpy before I even got on the bus. If you want to take one thing from this review it's "pace yourself".

Geyser was a bit "meh". Firstly, ignore the crowd at the gate watching a bubbling pot and walk about 3-4 minutes further up the path. That's where the action is. But, when the action does arrive it's kind of like the geyser sneezes. Blink and you've missed it. And then you have to ask yourself if you want to wait another seven minutes to see it sneeze again ... and you don't.

Gullfoss waterfall was impressive, but I felt that Skógafoss (visited on a different tour the previous day) was more impressive. Smaller, but you could walk so close to the base that it literally took your breath away. (Yes, literally. Not figuratively.)

By this point I was worried about going to the Secret Lagoon as we'd seen tour bus after tour bus. How busy was this place going to be?!

The Secret Lagoon... It's well run and not as busy as you'd be expecting given the number of tour buses you'd seen during the day. You can hire a towel (as we did) and, it seems, hire swimming gear (which we didn't as we'd brought our own). The changing facilities are clean and spacious with a personal locker. The pool is shallow (about 4" deep?) so you can stand, but can also swim. The water is "warm bath water" temperature. It gets a bit dull after a while, but is one of those things that you're regret not doing if, as a couple on the tour did, you chose not to get it.
Well, it is something that you probably have to do once in your life.

Would I recommend this tour to a friend? I'm sorry, no. The first part is just too busy with other tour buses. I'd recommend hiring a car and driving to the Secret Lagoon yourself for 40-minutes in the water.

A little late on the pick up but Nick was a wonderful guide for our day. The 9 hours went by quickly with information on Iceland and the specific areas we visited. Highlights were the Rift Valley and the swim in a hot spring is a must.
Nick, the patriotic Scot, encouraged the group to mix and we left with great memories of the people and places.

In stead of going to Blue Lagoon we visited Secret Lagoon. Really nice and no need for online booking and less then half of the cost.
