About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- marikkab20210 contributionsVery well organized but starts a bit too late for winter monthsI thought everything was very well organized. Because of the months of the year the days are really short and we had to do the snowmobiling in the twilight. I believe this could be fixed by starting off the tour a bit earlierWritten 27 November 2024
- Throupej0 contributionsFantastic trip I'm so glad we did it.Fantastic trip although rather cold So glad we did it. Once in a lifetime experience. Well organised, English speaking & plenty of time to take in the sights & get warm. Would definitely recommend.Written 24 November 2024
- S998GMmartinm0 contributionsHighly recommendedEntertaining and interesting. Our guide was Oli who was friendly, funny and knowledgeable. Highly recommended as an excellent way to find out about Iceland, explore Reykjavík and get recommendations for places to see and eat.Written 11 November 2024
- D9338KRsylviep0 contributionsUnforgettable experienceWe had booked four tours through this company to cover as many sights as possible in Iceland and they did not disappoint. The drivers picked us up promptly from the hotel and they were all extremely courteous and professional. The tour guides were very knowledgeable and always ready to answer any questions. The South Coast tour was particularly impressive, we managed to stop in all the waterfalls and black beach and had time to stop for coffee and some lunch . The Golden Circle was equally breathtaking, however, I felt that we did not get sufficient time to see the geyser and get lunch given the long queues to the toilets in that tourist spot. It felt a bit rushed as some tourists stopped at the secret lagoon. The other suggestion I would make is that the company needs to issue vouchers to the agencies to ensure the customers are well informed before the start of every trip as I would not have known what to do, pick up timings etc. had not phoned the company myself a few days before my departure. However, the customer service is excellent and there is always someone at the other end ready to help and answer all your questions 24/7. In all, it was an unforgettable experience which I highly recommend.Written 31 October 2024
- Annemarie C0 contributionsI like Iceland! This was my third trip to Iceland! I really enjoy the country as I try to see the Northern Lights. I was successful and saw them on my second trip but not so lucky this time. This trip was with two first-time visitors to Iceland so I did the Golden Circle tour with them for my second time. My first time had been in a January so a little warmer weather on this tour in September. The guide provided some additional information. The same sightseeing spots but still I learned some new things. Enjoyed a delicious lunch at the restaurant at the Geysir. Even with all the busses, we were seated quickly and served. That night, we were one of at least five buses that went back to the National Park looking for the Northern Lights. The groups bumped around in darkness but no sightings. After more than an hour of looking at nothing, the guide urged everyone to get off and look again. The sighting was only visible with your cellphone camera and, even then, just barely. But I had been lucky on my second trip and had seen an amazing display of green Northern Lights so this was quite disappointing. But its nature and you may or may not have a sighting. Even so, my friends and I did enjoy the experience.Written 28 October 2024
- Getaway325168258720 contributionsSnaefellsnes Peninsula day trip with Bustravel , IcelandAbsolutely one of the best experience of our lives. Daniel was an excellent guide who entertained and enlightened us with great conversation and was extremely knowledgeable regarding Iceland and our tour. He was always available to take photos and answer questions. Aron the driver was equally good. Both of them definitely made our trip and excursion a memorable one!Written 25 October 2024
- Pioneer617622076660 contributionsDisappointing Northern lights tourWe booked the Northern Lights tour as the highlight of our Iceland trip. We were booked for our first night of our trip but it was cancelled due to rain and poor conditions. The next night was also cancelled. The third night much to our surprise it was a go despite heavy rain all day and overcast conditions. The guide stated that we were guaranteed to see northern lights or we would be able to do another tour until we did. We were bussed out about 30 min from Reykjavík and stopped by some sort of golf centre. I was shocked we stopped where we did because we could still see the city lights and were facing a road with many vehicles driving towards us with headlights flashing at us. The guide said she could see green arcs across the sky through her phone camera. I could not really see any lights. We stayed there for quite a while but I never saw any real lights. It started raining so we ended up leaving. The guide said it was a “success. We saw lots of great lights”. When we tried to rebook we were told that the previous night we found northern lights so we were not able to go again without booking another tour. I got the feeling they took us out on the rainy night and would say it was a success so that would count as our tour since they were backed up by days of cancelled tours. I was VERY disappointed in the whole experience to say the least and would not book again with this tour company.Written 24 October 2024
- julieyD7385MA0 contributionsAmazing Tour, Even Better GuidesThe most perfect day tour for anyone and everyone! Our guides were Darren and Gregor and both were phenomenal. Darren is the funnest guy with the best jokes and stories. I really felt like his commentary made the experience even better. He is super knowledgeable and informative. And Gregor is obviously the best driver in all of Iceland. Highly recommended.Written 11 October 2024
- kcCosmopolitan7919890 contributionsThey never sent the minibus they were supposed to!I had a horrible experience with Reykjavik Sightseeing during my recent trip to Iceland. I booked one of their tours expecting a smooth and enjoyable day, but it turned out to be a complete disaster. They sent the wrong bus to the pick-up location, which led to me missing the entire tour. There was no communication from their side to clarify the situation, and I was left stranded with no support. To make matters worse, I was charged $123 for a tour I never got to take. When I reached out to customer service, they refused to take any responsibility and have done everything possible to avoid issuing me a refund. Despite following up multiple times, they have ignored my concerns and left me with no resolution. This level of customer service is completely unacceptable. I paid for a service that I never received, and instead of addressing their mistake, Reykjavik Sightseeing has done nothing but dodge accountability. I strongly recommend avoiding this company if you want a reliable and stress-free experience in Iceland. They do not care about their customers, and their lack of professionalism will ruin your trip.Written 6 October 2024
- Annemarie C0 contributionsNo Northern Lights sighting but it was still funFinding the Northern Lights is a hunt. This was my third time. I was successful on my second hunt which is why I want to see them again. A natural phenomenon, it all comes down to luck. And the more than 4 busloads of hunters on this night weren't lucky. We waited patiently for a couple of hours. It was chilly--actually it was cold but we were all so hyped we didn't seem to care. Even when the guide urged us all to get off the bus once more for a faint sighting, we did. It was so faint, you really couldn't see them unless you viewed them through your cellphone camera. But that's how badly we all wanted to see them. I'll continue the hunt.Written 25 September 2024
- Annemarie C0 contributionsWonderful way to experience IcelandThis was my third trip to Iceland. On this trip, I was with first-time visitors since I was doing my second Golden Circle tour. It was as enjoyable as before since my prior trip had been during the winter which is a totally different experience. There was ample time along the way at each stop on the Golden Circle. We had enough time at the geyser to enjoy lunch in the restaurant. The guide was informative. I highly recommend Reykjavik Sightseeing.Written 21 September 2024
- Jennifer D0 contributionsExploration of the Golden Circle with Thrilling Snowmobile RideThis was one of our favorite excursions in Iceland. We viewed several beautiful locations over the Golden Circle to the comical storytelling of our tour guide. We appreciated her specific guidance about the development of her country in context of the government changes in the country. The highlight of the day was snowmobiling on the glacier!! This was a once in lifetime experience and an exciting way to view the beautiful of the terrain.Written 21 September 2024
- lgayhart0 contributionsWere not Picked Up for our Original TourWe booked the Golden Circle & Secret Lagoon tour beginning at 10am. Despite standing at our pick location, stop 12, for 45 minutes (supposed to be there 30 minutes early but we got there at 915am) us and 4 other people were never picked up. When I called I was told the bus already came and we must have missed it, which was not true. On a good note, they promptly offered to reschedule us for their 12pm Golden Circle tour but we ended up missing out on the Secret Lagoon which was very disappointing. Still waiting on a refund for the Secret Lagoon portion…Written 13 September 2024
- AllyLambie750 contributionsSouth coast - Long but enjoyable day!Our final day trip in Iceland was the South Coast, Diamond Beach & Jökulsárlón tour booked with Reykjavík Sightseeing. I’ll admit to being nervous about pick up after reading some other reviews however we were picked up promptly by smart bus before transferring to our main bus. Both buses checked names and also waited and made sure everyone was picked up before departure. Our driver was Andreas with our guide Louvisa. Both were very friendly with Louvisa in particular providing us with great knowledge and facts as we progressed down to the south coast. The waterfalls were very pretty and the glacier lagoon/diamond beach were stunning. We paid for the optional boat trip at jokulsarlon which was a nice way to get a bit closer to the icebergs. This is a long day however with the majority of time spent on the bus so this should be considered if you have any issues with sitting for a long time. The reason I have marked this as 4/5 rather than 5/5 is due to the time in Vik for dinner. We were really wanting to try the black crust pizzas however were only allocated half an hour so just didn’t have enough time. I know this was due to unforeseen circumstances however even the normal 45 minutes break doesn’t feel long enough to me to be able to do this. At least an hour for dinner would work better in my opinion. Other than the time for dinner I had absolutely no other issues with Reykjavik sightseeing and would recommend this company. A number of solutions were found after our tyre blow out to ensure we all got safely back to Reykjavik. I hope Andreas didn’t have to wait too long to be rescued!Written 7 September 2024

Wally, our tour guide, was very enjoyable and knowledgeable about this area of his beautiful country. It was obvious he cared deeply for his country and he was also very open and honest when answering ALL our questions. I couldn’t imagine a more enjoyable way to spend a day and we look forward to a return visit in the warmer months.

An incredible experience. My tour guide Sarah was amazing and very knowledgeable. She even went out her way to advise me to do the northern lights tour the following night as she said it was looking promising and it did not disappoint. I would highly recommend doing this trip to anyone visiting Iceland.

We had a fantastic day yesterday (Thursday 21st April) on the South Coast Classic day tour. We had been on the Golden Circle and Northern Lights tours with your company the day before and whilst these were good today was made awesome by our very informative, enthusiastic, knowledgeable and approachable guide BG! He really made the day special and despite our original coach overheating we as the guests weren’t inconvenienced in any way as they had seamlessly organised a replacement coach to meet up with us at one of the stops. All in all a great day and I would heartily recommend both the South Coast tour, Reykjavík Sightseeing and our tour guide BG! Thanks

We were standing outside waiting for the tour bus when a green bus drove thru the pickup/drop off lane at the hotel with out opening the door to see if anyone was here for the tour. Upon calling they gave us the run around and said they tried to call us, when I asked what # they used they changed their story. We are rescheduled for tomorrow. Since we bought as a package they would refund. Complete joke! Never again!

A combination of lack of WiFi on the tour bus and an ill informed and uninterested guide meant that we didn’t learn anything about Iceland on our day trip, which was highly disappointing. The glacier tour which was with a different company was thankfully wonderful and their guides excellent. A good guide makes all the difference and for this reason I would highly recommend against using Reykjavik Sightseeing if you have the misfortune to get the guide we had today.

I have a big problem with my refund. I paid to South Coast and Glacier Ride, and when my husband and I pass the information to enter in the bus at Terminal Reykjavick the female guide told to us that the Glacier Ride was not operated on that day. So, we went only South Coast. About the refund we told to me on email that is not possible because the tour was operated on that day. I observed then that the female guide made a mistake and we didn't go to Glacier due to this mistake. I request my refund due to trouble that she made. RS22084455.

Thank you Isabela for taking the time in writing us about refund here as well.
We made sure to answer all your inquiries on all the other platforms you reached out.
We consider this review is nor fair to the situation that occurred.
On the day there were not email correspondence in regards to any cancelation about the glacier part. Moreover on board of your bus there were other travelers who joined the activity per the guide announcement, so we would like to think there was some sort of misunderstanding.

This is advertised as an 11 hour trip (there and back). In fact we managed to see a lot more than promised and the driver (sorry I did not get his name) and Ralph our guide got us back in a little under 10 hours. This tour is worth every penny. It takes you all the way to the charming little town of Vik and back, taking in some breath-taking scenery and incredible views along the way, including two amazing waterfalls and the memorable Black Sand beach to name just a view. Iceland's south coasts has so much to offer the visitor and this tour is a convenient and cost-effective way to experience it. The audio guide is handy (you'll need to bring your own earphones or you can buy them off the tour guide) but Ralph the tour guide offered plenty of great insight and information himself. There is sufficient time on the trip for comfort breaks, stretching your legs and getting coffee or food. Free wifi on board and at the end of the tour, I was delivered to my hotel drop-off bus stop. This was my first full day in Iceland and was a great introduction.

This day trip was absolutely amazing with seeing the black sand beaches and 2 waterfalls with an unexpected detour to a glacier which was much appreciated! Yoyo the tour guide was extremely friendly and had a plethora of folk stories and a vast knowledge of the areas we visited as well as advice for the best restaurants to go to as it was mine and my girlfriends 2nd anniversary. Vicek (V-Dog) the driver was also extremely friendly and got us to the locations without any trouble. To top things off, we unexpectedly saw the northern lights while driving back to Reykjavik which was absolutely breathtaking. Couldn’t recommend this trip enough!

We really enjoyed the south coast trip. It was approx 10 hours. We were given ample time to explore at each stop. There was a lot of driving (minibus) but there were regular toilet breaks and the stops were spaced out well. Paul was our driver and guide. He was friendly, entertaining and knowledgeable. He was also an amazingly skilled driver - the weather conditions suddenly changed but he dealt with this really well. Would definitely recommend the trip!

Hello, I am going to Reykjavík with friends for my 50th Birthday from 29th November to 2nd December. We know we want to do the Blue Lagoon on the way from the airport and the Golden Circle Tour but we are not sure whether to do 2 day trips for the other 2 days or a 2 day trip along the south coast to Vik. Does anyone have any advice about which would be the best use of those days to see the most of Iceland. I know there are only about 5hrs of light at that time of year so want to make the best use of the time and the most chances to try and see the northern lights. Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi
I just got back from Iceland.I was not sure to go to the blue lagoon at beginning or end. I did the end and thought that was DEFINITLY the way to do it.
I did the "free"( tip based) walking tour FABULOUS.
We did a 7 hour bus tour on the golden circle and an 11 hour bus tour to south coast. Reminder I went in august 2019 so daylight was not a factor I would suggest you consider sleeping out along the way. My husband felt it was especially long on the bus trips. it was doable depends if you want to pack up.
Have a marvelous trip and Happy 50th

Does anyone have experience in doing this trip with a baby (up to 1 year old)? How was it? :)
Written 28 May 2019
The trip and how each person manages it is up to the individual---you have considerable flexibility...You can get out at each stop and see the sights or you could read a book or do a dance inside the bus at every stop if that was your game plan---so I don't believe having a little baby would limit you in any way at all. It's entirely up to you (and your baby of course :)

11 hours +/- a bit depending on you pickup and drop off point. A long day but a very comfortable motor coach for when on the road.
Written 19 March 2019
Our coach stopped at a service station on the way out so we could pick up sandwiches/crisps ect. There was a 1 hour stop at Vik where there was a tourist centre with a few cafes and canteen style dining. There was also food vans at pretty much all of the stops we made. xx
