Thank you for your review! We're so glad that you and your son enjoyed your whale watching tour with us. This summer we are offering both Icelandic and English guidance on our tours (along with some German and Spanish) so we are glad your son was able to enjoy the experience in his native language! There is a colony of roughly 30,000 puffins just off the coast of Reykjavík, but since it is only accessible by boat many people who live here haven't been to see them. It has been so fun to welcome residents on board to see more of what Reykjavík has to offer in terms of wildlife :) Thank you for choosing Special Tours, and have a great day! Kind regards, Special Tours Crew

The highlight of our trip as it’s my wife’s dream to see whales. Very informative trip, and the system they use as in the clock face, 12 o’clock, 6 o’clock, 3 o’clock etc helps when a whale is spotted. The only qualm we had is if you stood on the side and 12 o’clock is shouted

Thank you for the review! We're glad to hear that you and your wife enjoyed your tour with us. Regarding the direction of the boat, our captains always do their best to have the boat facing sideways when viewing the whales. Unfortunately this is not always possible due to wind/waves and the speed and direction that the whale is travelling. We are running our Instagram competition, so if you were able to get any good photos from your tour with us just use the tag #AhoyReykjavik to enter. We pick one winner each month and that person gets their ticket refunded. Thank you for choosing Special Tours, and we hope that you enjoyed the rest of your stay in Iceland. Kind regards, Special Tours Crew

As the American family said a bit of a dud. The operator was a bit of a comedian. We expected we would see whales to the sides of us but the nose kept being pointed to the whales so only those up front saw anything and there was not enough space for everyone so saw about 3

Dear Matthew, Thank you for providing us with this feedback. We're sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy your experience with us on your whale watching tour. Regarding the direction of the boat, our captains always do their best to have the boat facing sideways when viewing the whales. Unfortunately this is not always possible due to wind/waves and the speed and direction that the whale is travelling. We would like to hear more about what you felt was unsafe on the boat decks. When it is snowy/icy our crew always clears the deck, but it can remain wet throughout the tour especially if it is raining or snowing during the trip. If there is something that we can improve on here we would be happy to hear it. Please send an email to info@specialtours.is if you'd like to provide us with more details. Whenever we do not have sightings, or the sightings are poor, we offer passengers the chance to come again for free. This offer never expires so you are welcome to try again on another tour in the future. We hope that your experience with us will be better on your return :) Kind regards, Special Tours Crew

We boarded the boat and immediately I began to feel sick however within 10 minutes of taking the sea sickness tablet I felt grand. We saw around 7 dolphins very close to the boat after around 60mins sailing. Then changed directions and found a minke whale which we followed for

Thank you for your review! We're glad that you enjoyed your tour with us, and that the sea sickness tablets worked for you. White-beaked dolphins and minke whales are two of the four most common species that we encounter in the bay. The dolphins are often the most active and curious about our boats, so it's always fun to watch them when they come so close to us! We are running our Instagram competition, so if you were able to get any good photos from your boat tour with us just use the tag #AhoyReykjavik to enter. We pick one winner each month and that person gets their ticket refunded. Thank you for choosing Special Tours, and we hope that you enjoyed the rest of your stay in Iceland.
