From towering waterfalls to bubbling geysers, some of Iceland’s most dramatic landmarks are clustered around the Golden Circle. This full-day, guided coach tour takes in the highlights, including Thingvellir National Park, Gullfoss Waterfall, and Strokkur Waterspout. Let someone else navigate and drive, so you can relax and enjoy the spectacular views as a guide shares the fascinating stories behind the scenery. Tour includes convenient pickup and drop-off from Reykjavik.
What to Expect
Meet a driver at your centrally located Reykjavik hotel, or at the cruise port, and then leave the city behind as you head into Iceland’s rugged, mountainous interior.
The first stop on the Golden Circle route is Thingvellir National Park, where Iceland held its first parliamentary assembly. Hear guide commentary about the site as you admire the pristine beauty, and peer into the Thingvellir Rift, two tectonic plates joined by a narrow valley.
Next, head to Gullfoss Waterfall, double-tiered cascades that send up spectacular mist and occasional rainbows.
Continue along the Golden Circle to an area simmering with volcanic activity, hot springs, pools, and steam vents. Keep your camera ready at Strokkur, a powerful waterspout that erupts 98 feet (30 meters) in the air. This Golden Circle tour concludes with drop-off at your original departure point.

Well organised

Considering how many tourists this company deals with on a daily basis everything was well organised and ran like clockwork. Coaches clean and warm, friendly driver and guide. Scenery stunning and weather played nice for us. Totally recommend this trip.

Great tour

My wife and I visited Iceland for our honeymoon and this was the first excursion we took. Our absolute favorite part of the tour was Thingvellir National Park. The history and tectonic plates were amazing. Thanks for the great excursion!

I didn't use any tour boats. I avoid all trips that involve traveling on water. Except a canoe on calm water.
