Overview
Exploring Athens can mean lots of walking and climbing, a stressful endeavor in the Greek sun or if you’re short on time. A hop-on hop-off City Sightseeing bus tour lets you cover more ground in less time, without using any extra energy. View the must-sees, learn their history from the onboard commentary, and hop on and off at the stops that interest you. Plus, explore beyond central Athens on Piraeus or Riviera routes.
What to Expect
Book your preferred tour ticket and board the open-top City Sightseeing double-decker bus at any of the applicable stops. Then, don the provided earphones to learn about the sights you see via commentary.

Choose to stay aboard for the full route, or hop out at any stops to explore by foot. Perhaps explore the ancient temples at the Acropolis, or at the New Acropolis Museum to admire its classical sculptures.

Maybe disembark at Syntagma Square to see the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and stroll through the National Gardens, or widen your sightseeing to the Athens Riviera (depending on selected ticket)—the choice is yours.

Your ticket is valid for 24 or 72 hours from first use, and includes a discount booklet with money-saving offers at selected attractions. Buses run every 15 or 30 minutes depending on the season. See the Itinerary for stops.

See most of Athens from Piraeus

It's a good way to get to Athens from the cruise ships in Piraeus. It stops at most interesting points of the city. To get back to Piraeus you have to change busses at The Acropolis.

Pick a different line

I've done a bunch of the hop on buses and never have I been so disappointed with this bus. Pick a different one. Headphones are super cheap. The recording for the most part doesn't mention when a stop is coming up (some do, most don't)....More
