Overview
The UNESCO-listed Douro Valley is famed for its port wine, but with countless wineries to choose from, exploring the region without a guide can be overwhelming. This tour ensures you'll experience the Douro Valley at its very best, by dining on Douro cuisine at a celebrated villa and tasting award-winning bottles at two estates. To see the vineyard-lined Douro River from the water, upgrade to enjoy a cruise by traditional Rabelo boat.
What to Expect
Meet a driver at your hotel in Porto for the 1.5-hour trip to the Douro Valley.

Continue to Pinhão, where you'll have time to explore the beautiful village on your own, from the surrounding vineyards to the distinctive blue-and-white tile murals.

If you selected the Douro River cruise, this is where you'll board a Rabelo, a traditional cargo boat long used for Douro River transport. The hour-long ride takes you up a Tua River tributary and past Quinta da Romaneira winery, and then loops back to Pinhão.

Either before or after your cruise (if you've upgraded), you'll pop into one of the wineries on the agenda for the day before lunch.

For lunch, sit down to a lunch of traditional Douro cuisine paired with local wines at a popular restaurant, and then visit another estate for tastings of award-winning ports and wines. The tour concludes with a return trip to Porto.

Good value for money

This was a jammed packed day of gorgeous sights, delicious food and wine tasting. Our guide was knowledgeable, lunch was better than expected and not rushed, scenery was beautiful, and the two wineries were different experiences; both had delicious wines! Well worth it!!

Great price, great trip

John (Joao) was an insightful guide, the day well scheduled, the sites were stunning and the boat ride shouldn't be missed. After a few days of touring on our own it was a relief to put ourselves into the hands of a local tour company,...More

You could but that would not be appropriate unless you have your own group that includes all 8 spots on the tour van. This is an adult wine tour and the last thing I would want is a 5 month old that may be crying, etc... More

This tour was an ALL day event! You are picked up early in the morning and get back(it is about 8-9 hour tour.) Getting into Porto can be busy because of traffic and parking depending where you are staying.
