Overview
The UNESCO-listed Douro Valley is famed for its port wine, but with countless wineries to choose from, exploring the region without a guide can be overwhelming. This tour ensures you'll experience the Douro Valley at its very best, by dining on Douro cuisine at a celebrated villa and tasting award-winning bottles at two estates. To see the vineyard-lined Douro River from the water, upgrade to enjoy a cruise by traditional Rabelo boat.
What to Expect
Meet a driver at your hotel in Porto for the 1.5-hour trip to the Douro Valley, pausing to stretch your legs in Peso da Régua, the capital of the Douro Valley.

Continue to Pinhão, where you'll have time to explore the beautiful village on your own, from the surrounding vineyards to the distinctive blue-and-white tile murals.

If you selected the Douro River cruise, this is where you'll board a Rabelo, a traditional cargo boat long used for Douro River transport. The hour-long ride takes you up a Tua River tributary and past Quinta da Romaneira winery, and then loops back to Pinhão.

Following your time in Pinhão, sit down to a lunch of traditional Douro cuisine paired with local wines at a valley villa, and then visit a pair of estates for tastings of award-winning ports and wines. The tour concludes with a return trip to Porto.

Excellent way to see the gorgeous Douro Valley

Marco picked us up promptly and shared the lovely countryside with us. The River Cruise isn't very expensive, a great view of the amazing patchwork of vineyards. Lunch was delicious and the tastings at the vineyards were plentiful. Highly recommend this tour.

Douro Valley Tour

My wife and I took the Douro Valley wine, river cruise, and port tour. Our guide, Paula, was an engaging, well-informed, and enthusiastic leader. The tour provides an excellent sampling of wines and port, and the river cruise is wonderful. We recommend this experience whole-heartedly.

If you leave at 20.00, you should be fine to make it to airport after the tour. However, we had someone on our tour that was dropped at the airport; we all had to agree to it since it added a bit of time to our return trip... More

I walked around the town and went for a coffee. I was nice to just sit by the water. The boat was only gone for about an hour.
