    What to Expect
Get inside in the heart of the Douro Valley and have the opportunity to discover wonderful places and to let yourself be amazed with all the beauty around. The Cruise to Régua gives you the chance to get inside in one of the oldest regions in the world.

Enjoy a gorgeous train trip and see all the amazing landscapes returning by a beautiful cruise through the Douro Valley, witch was recognised since 2001 as a World Heritage Site. The day starts at 8:30am in S.Bento Railway Station, one of the most important monuments of Porto, before starting the journey you will have the opportunity to admire the traditional tiles inside the station that tells all its history.

In a fantastic train trip* begin your journey to Régua where you will be able to appreciate the grace presented by the Douro Valleys landscapes. After a wonderful trip, you'll arrive around 11:00am in Régua, known as the first demarcated wine regions in the world.

After a brief walk from the train station to the quay in Régua, you'll make your way onto the boat. The cruise to Porto starts at 11:30, and you'll be on your way to your adventure through the valleys with astonishing views, see the purity of nature and embrace the sensations of being inside of the Douro wine regions, because there's no other way to get such a wonderful view. Please note: during the cruise a lunch will be served on board around 12pm.

After lunch, and during the afternoon, you'll sail until the group reaches the Carrapatelo Dam, which has a gap of 114 feet (35 meters). After that, continuing along the river to a second dam, named as Crestuma-Lever, with a gap of 46 feet (14 meters). After crossing the two dams, enjoy the serenity of the Douro River, appreciate the refinement of the landscapes, and the beauty of the valley in a fascinating and memorable cruise, arriving in Porto in the evening around 6pm.

If you do not have the time to do the river cruise--which is too bad that you have to miss it--this is a great alternative. We "jumped ship" in Regua to be able to catch, in Lisbon, our cruise back to the states. We were sorry to have to give up the last day, but we knew that

Leisurely day trip out of the city. Our tour met at Sao Bento train station so able to see decorative tile interior without making special trip. Comfortable - uncrowded rural train trip up the valley to Regua .. short walk to the boat and slow smooth cruise back to Porto.

If you want a short excursion, don’t do this. From the start it is stated that you start at 07:30 and finish at 17:30. If you can’t handle this long, take a walk in Porto. Train ride, 2 hrs, very relaxing, nice seats. YOU NEED TO GET THERE. The boat is nice, well maintained
