Overview
Discover Porto’s traditional food and drink on a guided culinary tour of vibrant cafés and markets. You’ll explore this coastal city with a foodie guide, learning about Portuguese culture as you taste a wide range of treats. Try regional specialties such as tapas made with local pork or seafood, freshly baked tarts, coffee, beer, and, of course, port wine—all while getting a unique tour of the historic city.
What to Expect

Meet a guide near Porto’s Bolhão Market, and then set out on foot for a tour of the city’s cuisine. Start with a cup of coffee and a pastel de nata, a traditional Portuguese egg tart with cinnamon, and enter the market to browse open-air stalls piled high with local products.

Duck into a cheese and meat shop for a beer and a bifana, a classic pork sandwich. Stop at one of the oldest taverns in the city and try a sip of locally available Portuguese liquor along with bolinhos de bacalhau, a salty treat made from dried cod.

A highlight of any Porto tasting tour is port wine, and you’ll visit a specialized wine bar with hundreds of varieties for a guided tasting. Make the last stop of the day in another historic tavern to graze on a variety of tapas, a delicious conclusion to a gourmet experience.

Our group met inside the Manteigaria cafe. You'll start the tour with some pasteis de nata and coffee there.
