Overview
Sail through the Ria Formosa Natural Park on this 4.5-hour sightseeing cruise from Faro. Journey through the Ria Formosa channels on a 12-person catamaran and make stops at the islands of Culatra, Farol and Deserta. The tour is operated by a multilingual guide.
Highlights
  • Access all of Ria Formosa Natural Park on a boat tour
  • Maximize chances of seeing egrets and flamingos with a guide
  • Small vessel holds 11 passengers, for an intimate atmosphere
  • Choose from a morning or afternoon departure time
What to Expect
Make your way to Faro port to board a modern catamaran. As your guide provides an overview of the area, watch the coastline of Faro recede on the way out to sea. Keep watch for coastal birds that use this area as a breeding ground, such as egrets, cranes, and flamingos. Cruise along the Algarve coast, through the lagoons of Ria Formosa Natural Park, and around the islands of Deserta, Farol, Culatra, and Armona. Stop at Deserta and Culatra, where the catamaran makes a stop for you to access the isolated beaches. Taking this boat tour allows you the best possible views and experience of the natural park and the islands. Return to the port in Faro for drop-off at the end of your tour. Morning and afternoon tours are available to suit your schedule.

Brilliant way to spend the day visiting all three islands of the Ria Formosa. From the booking staff Paula at the marina in faro to our extremely knowledgeable captain of the boat Miguel, the whole trip was excellent. Highly recommended.

Really enjoyable. Very friendly and informative. Philip was a great guide. I went with my wife and my mum. Highly recommend walking to the beach on the last island even though it is a 20 minute walk.
