Overview
Beyond Amsterdam’s many attractions, the Dutch countryside awaits with a charm all its own. Explore Zaanse Schans, Marken, and Volendam with ease on a stress-free shore excursion, the best way to make the most of your time in the Netherlands. Let your driver take care of the transport so you can focus on the scenery, and upgrade to include a longer tour to see more. Some options include a free 1-hour cruise.
What to Expect

Make your own way to a central Amsterdam meeting point, about a 20-minute walk from the cruise port, where you board a vehicle destined for the Dutch countryside.

Your first stop is Zaanse Schans, where you stop at a historic shipyard and have time to snap photographs of iconic Dutch windmills.

Then, you continue to Volendam and Marken, quaint fishing villages with wooden houses and colorful harbors. Spend free time at each and then stop at a Dutch cheese farm to sample the local cheeses.

If you want to spend more time in each of the stops, upgrade to the 7-hour tour that leaves at 12pm for a more relaxed approach to sightseeing.

Your tour ends where it started.

Tantalising but rushed taste of Holland

My husband and I did the 3PM Shore Excursion with the free canal tour. It was great that the canal tour could be taken at any time, as it would have been too late to do it on the day, once we got back from...More

John (Jaeo) led this tour and honestly, for the money it was well beyond expectations. The Windmills (Zaanse Schans Windmills - especially Het Jonge Schaap Sawmill) was awesome. The person who ran the mill explained all the workings of this working windmill. Fascinating! Just loved...More

Good but never enough time

We enjoyed this but 5.5 hours isn't really enough to see things properly. The windmills were interesting though not working due to no wind as were the clogs and the cheese factory. The cruise was pleasant too. Whilst you don't get enough time, you don't...More
