Overview

There’s so much more than just a simple bike rental to this small-group, half-day Tuscany cycling excursion—although, with 24 speeds, the bikes are what the terrain requires. Tour a winery, sample local wines, and savor Tuscan olive oils, cheeses, and cold cuts. Learn about the region’s culture and history from your local guide. And, discover quiet country roads and byways that tourists rarely see.

What to Expect

Greet your guide and don your cycling gear in central Florence. After a short safety briefing, you’ll be off through the old Roman Gate and into the countryside, learning stories of the Florentine nobles whose lavish estates dot these rolling hills.

Journey through vineyards and olive groves to a Renaissance villa and winery. Tour the cellar, enjoy a tutored wine tasting, and savor traditional Tuscan snacks, including cheese, cold cuts, and bruschetta.

From here, pedal through Tuscany’s timeless villages, pausing at the house where astronomer Galileo Galilei once lived. Pull in at Florence’s Piazzale Michelangelo to capture picture-perfect views of the city before you return to your departure point.

Must do trip when in Florence

We had a one day visit to Florence on our tour of Italy. This bike trip is up there right at the top of things we have done and seen on our holiday so far and doubt it can be beaten. There was another couple...More

5 hours bike tour out of Florence and up to a Villa/Winery at the start of the Tuscany wine region.

An extremely informative, non-touristic, and relaxing tour of the region. Got a real feel for the culture and the region all while getting to see extraordinary sites, plus an excellent meal of vintage wine and foods that I felt was very authentic. Next time I...More

We had a single traveller in our group, and we all got on great! I doubt most travel companies will just take one person out on a tour without the cost of a private tour. I would encourage you to just join a tour with... More
