Chianti Half-day Wine Tour
Chianti Region Wine Tasting Half-Day Trip from Florence. Language availability: - English and Spanish all year round. - French, German and Italian from April to October
From US$51.92
Overview
Leave the driving to someone else while enjoying Tuscany’s famous wine on this Chianti tour from Florence. Get a comprehensive introduction to the region’s wine by visiting two different wine estates and medieval village. Your guide takes you past picturesque Tuscan countryside to wine estates in Chianti Fiorentino and Chianti Classico to taste local wine and food. The tour includes time to explore the winery cellars, and the villages themselves.
What to Expect
Get picked up in central Florence to head to the Tuscan countryside. Pass by picturesque olive groves, vineyards, and rolling hills on the way to the Chianti Fiorentino region.

Stop at a distinguished wine estate for a tour. Learn about winemaking secrets and traditions, including how the grapes are crushed and the wine is matured and bottled. Enjoy a tasting of Chianti, dessert wine, or a prominent white wine.

Then, head to Greve, a medieval village where one of the region’s most important wine festivals is held. Explore the village’s central piazza and artisan shops.

Your next stop is a family-run winery in the Sienese area of Chianti Classico. Take a guided tour of the cellar and taste wine and local products in the garden.

Stop at Castellina, a hilltop village with a large fortress and Etruscan ruins. Explore the village’s medieval streets and square before heading back to Florence.

Highly recommended!

The tour guide was quite knowledgeable and gave a history lesson along the way. The two wineries that we visited were great. My wife and I are not big fans of Tuscan wine, but the overall experience was fantastic... food, landscape, history, quaint towns.

It begins near the main train terminal by the bus depot in the back. There is a ramp that takes or a taxi can leave you there. Brochure tells you where. But you need tickets ahead of time.

I would think very far. Probably a 5 hour drive? The Chianti region is just under Florence and you will be in Naples which is in the southern part of the country. You may want to do a tour closer to the area of Italy you are... More
