About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Ann F0 contributionsGreat day exploring Messina and TaorminaThe bus tour was excellent! The bus was clean and comfortable. The tour guide was amazing and the bus driver was highly skilled- as one needs to be to be able to drive a bus on the twisty, narrow roads. The scenery was incredible and the shops and food were great too! We had a truly spectacular day!Written 7 October 2024
- Toni Z0 contributionsWonderful!I enjoyed this tour SO much! Sara was very knowledgeable and extremely accommodating to the needs of this small group. Even directing us to gluten free restaurant options and where to get the best canolo (second best next to my moms) and arancino. There was plenty of time to explore on our own after she informed us of the history of the area all along the way. This part of Sicily was very beautiful. I highly recommend this tour.Written 7 October 2024

- FarAway035233686620 contributionsDiscover Messina’s hidden gem, a must seeWe thoroughly enjoyed our (wife and I) tour of Messina. Though limited in scope and excitement due to most of the historic sites being flattened by an earthquake in 1908 and allied bombings during WWII, we did enjoy the visit to the cathedral and the daily midday clock tower show. However the highlight of our tour was our visit to the only surviving small family puppet museum. This is a fabulous, hidden gem, tucked away in a side street that our tour guide knew about. It is owned and operated by the 5th generation descendants of the founder. The exhibit was phenomenal, old, intriguing, and still operates as a museum and puts on shows. I was skeptical at first when the guide told us about it, but I was totally swept away once we got into the place. Everyone in our group felt the same. Whether a kid or a kid-at-heart this is a must see. It is few minutes from the main clock tower square. It’s not well known but should be soon.Written 6 October 2024
- Trip5447390 contributionsTaormina & CastelmolaSarah was amazing! We booked the wrong tour to go with our friends and she had enough room to accommodate us. She was funny, delightful and full of information! She saw several people were slow so made adjustments to allow them to have fun too! She also made suggestions for restaurants. Great day!Written 5 October 2024
- 453barbr0 contributionsGreat tour that offers beautiful views!!This tour was well organized and we learned a lot about the area. Castelmola and Taormina were the highlight of our trip. Thank goodness this tour has a fantastic bus driver who can navigate all the curves and turns as you go 400 meters above sea level. The views are beautiful and Elisa did a great job as our guide. A nice blend of history and culture of the area without overwhelming you. Even had a view of Mt Etna. Great free time for walking and shopping in Castelmola and Taormina. Have to get Cannoli at Roberto’s in Taormina. Would highly recommend if you don’t want to spend 8 plus hours on a tour.Written 5 October 2024
- vjulio0070 contributionsWe had a lot of fun on both Taormina and Castelmola, very charming , unique villagesGreat way to discover a little about Sicily in a few hours, both Taormina and Castelmola are very charming villages with a Middle Ages vibe, our tour guide was fantastic, making the drive seem not too tedious . It was a fun day tour.Written 4 October 2024
- Kurt B0 contributionsFantastic adventure on Mount Etna!Carmelo did an excellent job of being very friendly and personal with everyone. He was very knowledgeable and kept everyone engaged throughout the tour. He had very good control of the group making sure everyone got back at the designated time. When we visited Taramino, he even sent everyone map links to recommended places. We found them very helpful! Carmelo went above and beyond on this excursion! My only advice to him would be to hold the microphone away from his mouth several inches. Holding the mic too close, made the speakers way too loud and distorted his voice, so we couldn't understand some of what he was telling us.Written 4 October 2024
- TrailBlazer705720 contributionsFantastic tour! Well paced. Comfortable transportation.Sara is the most informative and assistive tour guide!! She educated us regarding ancient and recent history. We enjoyed the local perspective. She graciously answered all questions. It was a small group walking tour of Castelmola and Taormina. We were all able to hear everything for we each received a radio connected headset! She shared with us the best eateries for canolo & arancino that originated in Sicily!! You haven’t had these delicacies until you’ve eaten them in Sicily. Overall excellent tour. We highly recommend it!Written 4 October 2024

- Chad M0 contributionsYou wont be disappointedAbsolutely phenomenal experience with the company Discover Messina. They contacted us days ahead of our scheduled Tour and verified all the details of meeting point, what to look for and who our tour guide would be. Fortunately for us it was Katia and we couldn’t have asked for a better guide. She was enthusiastic, knowledgeable and kind. She put our group at ease and we enjoyed the conversations about Sicily, its history and her family. Her English was clear and she was open to adding a stop on our way back to our cruise ship to visit the Cathedral of Messina. Thank you again for a memorable experience.Written 2 October 2024
- Savannah C0 contributionsTaormina is beautiful!Mariarita was energetic, smart, funny, and knowledgeable! She was an amazing guide. She stayed calm under stress (snafu with bus issues) and got us to our destinations timely. We were able to see it all, Taormina is beautiful - we are thankful we booked this tour.Written 1 October 2024

Roberto was awesome! He was very knowledgeable, and when he took you around to try food he would sit down with you and chit chat. Truly made you feel like you were a local just out with friends. Highly recommend.

Roberto our tour guide was outstanding! Fun personality with lots of knowledge and even got to know us on a personal level! Taught us some Italian words and we taught him our American lingo! Hit everything we wanted to do including historical monuments, even from the delay of other group members who had struggle walking. A great outstanding tour! Thank you Roberto!
