Overview
Travelers on sightseeing tours often have to pack in as many sights as possible, foregoing in-depth, authentic encounters in the process. Skip generic overviews for an hourlong tour of La Fenice, an opera house that was once the heart of Venetian high society and the golden age of Italian opera. Stop at the auditorium and royal box, admire the baroque architecture, and learn about the theater’s resilient history. Plus, a small-group tour means your guide will have time to answer any questions you might have.

Highlights
  • Rather than just passing by, spend an hour at La Fenice Theater
  • Learn about the theater’s resilient history, famous performances, and lavish architecture
  • Come away with authentic knowledge of the theater
  • Small-group tour ensures your guide's personal attention
What to Expect
Start at Campo San Luca in central Venice, where you meet your guide and group. Walk to the theater, passing through Venice’s characteristic narrow streets. Arrive and enter, admiring the theater’s baroque décor, gilded boxes, and velvet seats. Walk through the theater while your guide tells you about noteworthy performances and famous singers and musicians. Learn about the separate fires that burned the theater to the ground and the subsequent restoration that gave the theater its name, which means “phoenix” in Italian. Spend ample time with your guide, asking any question you might have about the theater and its history. Finish the tour just outside the theater entrance.

Tour guide is hard to understand. Tour is short. Didn’t gain in depth information. I saw few groups of people listened in to the audio tour instead and seemed to enjoy themselves. Maybe that is a better choice. The worst part is that you have to meet up at the tour company

Had arranged, through Trip Advisor, to take a tour of the historic Opera House in Venice, Teatro La Fenice. Arrived at the site 15 minutes before. When no guide or group arrived by 1 pm, my wife and I entered the theater and asked the Box Office agent "what happened to our

Response from RacheleSacco, Direttore at Teatro La Fenice Tour in Venice
Responded 25 Oct 2019
Dear npkras, We apologise for any inconvenience you had to face. However, the meeting point is at the Bucintoro Viaggi travel agency strictly 15 minutes before the departure of the tour where you need to collect the actual ticket of the tour (info written before and after the purchase of the voucher) and NOT at the entrance of the theatre, as you describe. The tour started on time and was run regularly. We are sorry you missed it. Best regards,

There is no arguing the Theater is beautiful. I found the tour quite short and possibly could have been replaced with a cheaper audio guide. However, being in personalized tour group did allow us access to less congested areas of the theater, this was worth paying for. As with
